Over the past 10 years, Optimus Search has built an unrivalled network of clients throughout Europe from
the most exciting and fast-paced industries.
Last year, we placed over 240 niche professionals across 23 countries. We provided expert recruitment
solutions for 84 different clients and a sizeable 87% of our new business came from people we placed.
Across our Data & Technology, Engineering and Life Science Divisions, we build long-term relationships
with clients, which means we have a good understanding of their technical and working environments. We
communicate extensively with the companies we work with to ascertain a well-rounded understanding of
every position, so candidates know they’re taking the right job.
We do not make a habit of forcing square pegs into round holes and it shows – 94% of the people we place

Who we look for
Overall, we look for business minded, intelligent people with the desire to be the best they can be. A natural ability to build relationships is also a
given, with maturity and a passion for the recruitment industry.
You’ll also need to be able to take instruction, learn quickly from your mistakes and be engrained with a strong work ethic. A bit of common sense
never goes a-miss either.
The Basics:
 No sales experience is necessary, just a can-do attitude and a winning mentality.
 Must be persistent and persuasive with good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to develop and sustain strong client and
candidate relationships.
 Good time-management skills.
 Sense of urgency.
 Energetic and enthusiastic.
Fundamentally this is a tough challenge, and your desire to succeed will need to be genuine. You’ll have fun, but you’ll work hard along the way and be
resilient to everything that’s thrown at you.
You need to be ready to sacrifice, get out of your comfort zone and never be afraid of failure. We expect you to
progress quickly within our company. If you put in the hours, and have a determination to succeed then we’ll do
everything in our power to help you do so.
Training
If you fit the spec, experience isn’t essential. If you commit fully to becoming the best recruitment consultant you can be, we’ll help with the rest.
We’ll equip you to work with both clients and candidates and become a skilled negotiator.
Our training is tailored to you. Don’t expect to be sat in a classroom for two weeks working through a textbook – at Optimus, you’ll be on the phone
from day one. We’ll have you speaking to real clients so you can start building your skills and confidence. Your induction at Optimus is a direct
induction to the clients and candidates we work with, and their needs.
You’ll more than likely be trained by one of our Managing Directors and will also be given a 1-2-1 mentor, usually one of the longest standing members
in the business.
At Optimus we believe in continuous development. You’ll continue to build your commercial knowledge on a daily basis, have weekly meetings with
your manager and we actively encourage ad-hoc support. An industry expert will always be on hand to guide you in specific situations.

  • 5. Training If you fit the spec, experience isn’t essential. If you commit fully to becoming the best recruitment consultant you can be, we’ll help with the rest. We’ll equip you to work with both clients and candidates and become a skilled negotiator. Our training is tailored to you. Don’t expect to be sat in a classroom for two weeks working through a textbook – at Optimus, you’ll be on the phone from day one. We’ll have you speaking to real clients so you can start building your skills and confidence. Your induction at Optimus is a direct induction to the clients and candidates we work with, and their needs. You’ll more than likely be trained by one of our Managing Directors and will also be given a 1-2-1 mentor, usually one of the longest standing members in the business. At Optimus we believe in continuous development. You’ll continue to build your commercial knowledge on a daily basis, have weekly meetings with your manager and we actively encourage ad-hoc support. An industry expert will always be on hand to guide you in specific situations.
