1. Evaluation
We started this task by looking at TV channel idents and analysing them. We discussed how
each ident represent that particular channel like colours being used and how it was made. This
gave us an idea about our own ident. We tried to have all these things right for our target
audience who were 16-20 years old girls and boys. I think this is the reason the comments were
fairly positive. Someone complained about the duration of the ident and she thought it would be
better if it was longer. We included everything we wanted to include in that specific time so it
would be hard to make it longer, also the whole idea of ident is to present your organization in a
short 2-3 minute video.
The other positive things we did in our group which helped us in the production process was
planning. We sat down together and talked about a suitable story and went through everything.
When it came to filming we knew what we were doing and this leads to saving time and energy
and efficiency. My group was organised and we managed our time quite well. For example we
possibly finished the planning in class and the speed of our process was fast because we didn’t
get much interrupted when working, however I personally think that it could be a bit better but
I’m very satisfied with my team and it was a good experience working with them.
The key to our success was:
1. Patients
2. Being organised
3. And being friendly
Like others I was prepared to do this task but unfortunate I missed a crucial period of time. I’ve
missed the filming but I helped my team with the preparation for the ident and other tasks such
as pitching the idea.
Our animation answered the creative brief because everything that is required in the brief is
there. The brief asks for a 30-60 second stop motion animation which we have done. We tried to
sell the most positive important elements of CWC. The style, branding and attitude of CWC is
asked to be shown in the ident and I think we have done this quite well. The ident is 40 seconds
which is in the time limit given in the brief. Everything that was asked is included.
Branding is presented at the end by the logo. Attitude is shown by the morphs and what they are
doing and style is not presented quit well but there is something that relates to the style at the
end by the slogans.
What didn’t work for me was the background and the fact that we didn’t know where to film.
When I watch the ident back the background with a messy shelf with bottles and clothes on just
doesn’t work for me. If I had a chance to do this again I would definitely make sure that
everything is nice and we are in a suitable location.
I’m most proud of our finished product and I think it is in a good standard compared to other
groups. All the hard work for this project came to a nice result which makes me very satisfied.
