To Whom It May Concern,
From June to August 2015 I worked with Ben Darger. We hired Ben as a summer worker and he
proved to be a great help to us. Ben came in with practically no experience in the construction
industry, but he left with many skills and that is a testament to the person that he is.
What I most appreciate about Ben is his work ethic. Ben is hard working. Ben gives all he can
to every task. He understands that he is entrusted with important responsibility and works
hard to make sure that everything is done to the best of his capabilities. He gave every job he
was given all he had and never complained.
Ben is a quick learner. When faced with a task that was new to him, he was unafraid to ask for
help and guidance to make sure that he understood how to successfully complete an
assignment. He also is not constrained to procedure and structure. When we had tasks that
needed outside-the-box thinking, he was willing to work with ambiguity and still complete the
task. That ability to accomplish tasks both within structure and without it is one of his strengths
Ben is also a humble worker. Whenever we had tasks that most would complain about doing,
he just put his head down and got to work. His work for us involved frequent changes in
assignment and he moved ahead and did the job, no questions asked. This humility was also
demonstrated in his team work. Ben was the minority among our workers and his ability to
work with and respond to people of different cultures is another great attribute. His knowledge
and fluency in Spanish became a great asset to the team as he became a translator and helped
overcome the language barrier between those in the company.
The last thing that I would say about Ben is that he is a leader. Ben knows what needs to be
done and he gets it done. This was best exemplified in the way in which he managed the
storage garage. Ben knew that everything had to be organized, from the supplies to the tools
we used. He took it upon himself to organize it in a way that made sense for our work. His
efforts helped cut the cost of lost or damaged inventory. After reorganizing the storage garage,
he helped his coworkers understand new procedures and the layout of the room so that
everyone was on the same page. He made sure that communication and instruction between
team members was consistent and open. Ben demonstrated strong leadership skills.
I highly recommend Ben for any position. I know that he can and will accomplish great things. I
can assure you that he will be great in supply chain and logistical operations because of his
leadership, his ability to improve processes, and his talent for achieving results. He was a great
employee and I am confident that he will do a great job and give it his all.
