2. Christopher Marlowe was a poet playwright at the
forefront of the 16th century dramatic Renaissance.
His works influenced William Shakespeare and
generation of writers to follow.
His achievements most notably the play the tragically
history of Dr. Faustus ensured his lasting legacy.

3. Dr. Faustus is a major character of the play.
Christopher Marlowe play Dr. Faustus
portrays the titular character on a pursuit of
knowledge that ultimately leads to his
downfall.
Faustus makes an error in judgement in
making a pact with Lucifer, which brings
about not only his death but the damnation
of his soul.
4. He suffers from a change of happiness to misery
because of his mistaken choice which is led by his
America.
The Tragic Hero stands against his fate gods to
demonstrate his power of Free Will.he wants to be the
master of his own fate.

renaissance man" However according to
R.M Dawkins, Dr.Faustus is a Renaissance
man who had to pay the medieval price to
be one Dr. Faustus is neither strictly
medieval nor wholly Renaissance but a
play that possesses both medieval and
Renaissance values different points.

His Higher pride which goes before a fall.
Faustus hubris was because he loved the
materialistic life.
In Dr.Faustus pride appears when he feels that he
is more superior than others.
