this
hands-‐on,
project-‐based,
collaborative
workshop.
Explore
exciting
Web
2.0
tools
(like
blogs,
wikis,
podcasts,
Twitter,
digital
storytelling,
and
social
bookmarking).
In
addition,
explore
digital
media
to
support
learning
and
formative
as
well
as
authentic
assessment
across
the
curriculum.
An
essential
element
of
the
workshop
is
to
work
together
in
a
constructivist
learning
environment,
and
by
using
global
collaboration
tools,
work
on
a
tangible
product(s)
that
can
be
used
immediately
in
the
classroom.
This
workshop
is
designed
to
open
doors
to
new
modes
of
teaching
and
learning
and
focus
on
the
learner
(teacher
and
student)
as
a
communicator,
collaborator
and
creator.

workshop,
participants
will
deepen
understanding
of
how

• integrate
the
use
of

into
the
daily
life
of
an
educator;
• develop

cross-‐pollination

ideas

sharing
of

the
Presenter:
Julie
is
an
enthusiastic,
global-‐minded
educator,
leader
and
innovator.
Originally
from
Melbourne,
Australia
over
the
past
14
years
she
has
been
teaching
and
leading
the
use
of
technology
in
schools
in
Zambia,
Kuwait,
Bangladesh,
Qatar,
and
China.
Julie
is
co-‐creator
of
many
award
winning
international
global
collaborative
projects,
including
the
Flat
Classroom®
Project,
and
co-‐founder
of
the
Flat
Classroom
Conference
and
Live
Events
Inc.
a
non-‐profit
group
that
facilitates
live
events
for
students
and
educators
globally,
and
co-‐author
of
Flattening
Classrooms,
Engaging
Minds:
move
to
Global
Collaboration
One
Step
at
a
Time,
Pearson
2012.
She
serves
as
International
Representative
on
the
ISTE
Board
of
Directors.
