(skills, background, age, years of experience, demographics et al) and come up with a best profile snapshot for various roles and lines of businesses. Use that again as a criterion
in the evaluation process.
For prototyping purpose, a random anonymous sample data was taken from Kunal Gupta, CEO of a tier-1 HR consulting organization a.k.a Mount Talent Consulting
www.mounttalent.com (post prior approvals around confidentiality), containing more than 5,000+ records of employees, even mix of veterans and freshers or new joinees data,
IT employees from technical line (academic and professional background, demographics, performance ratings over the years & skill set repository data). Following is the list of

Post receiving the data, there was lot of data cleansing done to ensure invalid/missing fields/consistent data were dealt appropriately. SAS was used as the primary software
to perform advanced analytics and modeling techniques applied to come up with final insights, keeping into account what makes a best profile.
Insights shared with the HR team:
20. Folks in the experience range of 4-5 years rated the highest in most cases.
Male/Female ratio of high performers was somewhat similar but Females in the age bracket of 28-32 seemingly rated higher than the rest.
Candidates hired from Bangalore, India were in most cases again performed better than the rest
Post-graduation and Graduation marks had high correlation with high performer ratings, as expected
Employees who had similar years of experience but predominantly beyond XYZ performed better than ones who grew organically internally.
C/C++ programming skills folks were dominant in getting higher ratings
Department surprisingly had no correlation with performance ratings
Employees who came in from tier-2 T-schools were a notch better in garnering good ratings when compared to tier-1.
Very interesting insight, employees with 4-6 years of experience in XYZ and no job rotations were rated higher in most cases, implying loyalty to same business unit
pays off
Last company worked is a non-IT one had higher correlation with better performance.
Internship done from same Company had translated into improved performance
Based on above insights, a new profile was shared with Kunal Gupta to see how well does that profile resonates with rest of the high performers. Fortunately, the correlation
quotient or R=0.81 (where R=1 is perfect correlation) implying the profile shared is a good fit for a right candidate XYZ should be hiring from.
