“Organizational Resources”
Managers uses organizational resources effectively and effeciently to achieve their goals. It also
needs cooperation with the team to accomplish a certain task.
There are two ways to view the process of formulating goals. One approach involves focusing
of factors outside the organization that can influence the selection of and modification of
organizational objectives. Two models of goal formulation will be examined to provide clearer
understanding of the basic process involved, the first model by (Thompson and McEwen, 1958) deals
with external forces affecting goal fomulation. The second by (Cyert and March, 1963), deals
principally with internal forces.
Management is the attainment of organizational goals in an effective and efficient manner
through planning, organizing, leading and controlling organizational resources. From (Peter Drucker's)
view point manager give direction to their organization, provide leadership, and decide how to use
organizational resources to accomplisg goal. Organization use different resources to accomplish goals.
The major resource by organization are often describe as follow: Human resource, Financial resource,
Physical resource, Information resource, managers are responsible for acquiring and managing the
resources to accomplish goals.
I agree to what Peter Drucker opinion. He said that “Manager gives direction to their
organization, provides leadership and decide how to use the organizational resources to accomplish
goals.” I can relate this to our playing coach in basketball, every time we have game we firstly pray,
and his the one who leads. Then when it comes to our game, he's the one who direct us, who leads us to
our main goal which is to win the series of game. I think Peter Drucker opinion and my experience
2. almost the same.
The filipino as an effective resource manager must approach a kind of dynamic equilibrium
with the environment so as to avert destructive imbalance. The filipino must ask what resource are viral
in the future, what substitution and technological innovation might modify resource priorities and what
limits are placed on population and material growth by resource availability. He must also consider the
consequences of limited supply of resources and of varying social and economic concepts that affect
their use and adquancy. (
Every organization has various types of goals “organization goals are desired states of affairs or
preferred result that organizations attempt to realize and achieve.”(Amaitai Etzioni, 1976) the idea of
organizational goals has long history in economics, in which the classic position posit an entrepreneur
or ownership group which in turn establishes the goals of the firm. Alternatively, these goals may
represent a concesus arrived at by all members of the organization.
I agree to (Amaitai Etzioni, 1976) about what he said that every organization has various types
of goals. Because all of the organization where aiming to achieve their goals which is to be more
competitive in terms of business purposes. For instance, a fast food chain, their aiming to attract
costumers to eat within their place. This is an example of consumer and producer relationship that I've
learned in our “Taxation” class.
O' Reilly and Pondy(1979, p.121) they defined communication as “the exchange of information
between a sender and receiver and the inference of meaning between organizational participants.”
althoug this definition as a specific organizational reference, it could be generalized to a number of
non-organizational settings as well. The definition points out that communication is a process through
3. which information is transmitted from one party to another. The exchange of information between a
sender and receiver is essential for communication.
Effective listening receives less attention than written and verbal communication skills,
although it is clearly crucial if communication effectiveness is to be increased. Even the most carefully
stated or written message can be ineffective if the receiver does not give it careful attention. For this
reason, the Sperry Corporation has initiated a listening skills training program for its employees. More
10,000 Sperry employees attended seven-hours seminar designed to enhance listening skills, including
understanding, evaluating, interpreting, and responding to what is heard (DiGaentani, 1982).
I both agree this two authors, O' Reilly and Pondy (1979, p.121) and DiGantani, 1982, because
they both state that communicate is important in terms of pursuing to achieve their goals for that reason
if in one organization if you didn't communicate with your teammate or groupmates there will be big
posibility that you cant do your assigned work on time or worse their will be contend happen.
Therefore, effective and efficient usage of resources may leads to a aesthetic outcome that leads
to the organization in wonderful success.
