Having Kids Research Paper
I feel that when my parents were thinking of having kids the thought of how many they wanted
didn't cross their minds. My parents had eight kids all together and I feel that eight is too many at
times, but I still wouldn't want to have it any other way. Growing up with so many people has given
me the opportunity to experience seven different personalities and how to get on their nerves.
Having this many siblings has its' ups and downs from transportation to fist fight because someone
ate someone else's' hidden stash of snacks when clearly they weren't hidden well enough. Many
experiences that I have been through recently don't come close to the humiliation I had brought
upon myself when I was eleven years old and how my family members used ... Show more content

One Saturday morning I woke up with Winnie the Pooh beside my bed, I didn't put any thought on
it, I had to get ready for work and my dad was rushing me to get ready. I finished getting ready I
headed downstairs only to find an unusual amount of Poohs decorations, with that in mind I headed
outdoors to the car and left for work. On our way home from my uncles, I was thinking of going to
bed the Poohs didn't come to mind I just thought that it was weird. When we arrived home all the
lights were off as if no one was home, my dad and I walked in I turned on the light and there was
nothing, not a sound could be heard. I told my dad I was heading to my room and made my way
upstairs. As soon as I opened the bedroom door everyone pops out dressed in Winnie the Pooh
costumes, my dad was in one too surprisingly. All of them started dancing around me while singing
the Winnie the Pooh theme song, at the same time pointing at me when they said piglet. I put two
and two together from the Pooh in the morning when I woke up and the unusual number of them in
the house. They were making fun because I was fat and they weren't going to go easy on me, it was
their payback. Even since that fateful Saturday night, I was nicknamed "Piglet or Pigs". I was
hoping that it would stay between us, but it didn't my uncles, aunts, and cousins

Essay On A Demolition Derby
It was hard to believe that it had been six years since the demolition derby came to Muscle Shoals.
My dad was in the newspaper to promote the event. A demolition derby is an event in which you
bring stripped cars to an enclosed dirt arena where you crash into each other until there is only one
car left running. My family usually has about thirteen cars and we were the biggest promoter for the
derby. During what we call derby season, our family was divided by this competition. It was a
breezy afternoon and I heard the roaring sound of a derby car engine. I got up from my office chair
and rushed to the window to find my dad revving the engine the 'Riddler Car' that I had painted. The
car was a grass green and it was covered with purple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I sat down, cut on the fuel pump toggle switch, and made sure that my battery was connected before
I turned over the key. As soon as it cranked, the engine came to life, vibrating beneath my feet and
in my ears. Little did I know, my brother was also in the back lot, sitting in his derby car. I pulled the
shifter into drive and headed towards the fence. I stopped at the fence to check the parking lot before
I continued forward, there was no one. BAM! My brother, Kevin, pushed my car into the center of
the lot. I remember grumbling to myself about not giving me a chance to prepare. After parking the
car in front of the building, a mass of family surrounded us. Everyone had tools in there hand,
removing parts and tossing them into another car. Within fifteen minutes or so, the Pontiac was
interior was stripped excluding the driver's seat. I was useless to the cause; I couldn't tell the
difference between a socket wrench and a lug wrench. Music was playing over the loudspeaker and
everyone was enjoying themselves, it was hard to believe that we put this much work into cars just
to watch them be destroyed. I aimlessly walked around for a bit, playing on my phone, texting a few
friends until my mother called out for me. "Courtney! Bring me a drink please!" I went to the mini–
fridge and retrieved two Mountain Dews, one of me and the other for my mother. I walked into the
garage bay and found her sitting on the

Review Of ' The Hundred Acre Woods '
Once Upon a Time, many years ago their was an enchanted and truly magical place known as The
Hundred Acre Woods. You may have heard of this place before. You may have also heard about the
family that made this place their home. Although, I am almost certain you don't know the whole
story. Let me start of by saying this. Some people think that to be a family you have to be related by
blood, but I disagree with this idea. In my opinion, a family is a group of people who have
unconditional love for each other and will always stick by one another's side, no matter what the
circumstance. The "family" in which I'm referring to are not blood related. I suppose some people
would view them as a "group of friends" rather than a "family". This family consists of a bubbly
bear named Winnie, a tender & timid piggy named Piglet, an organized rabbit named Rabbit, a
melancholy donkey named Eeyore, an exuberant tiger named tigger (T–I– double "guh"–er), a light–
hearted joey named Roo, a gentle kangaroo named Kanga (who is Roo's mother), and last but
certainly not least, wise owl, named Owl. Many believe that this story, is the story of the creation of
The Hundred Acre Woods. The truth is this family didn't have it as good as you may think that had
it. Before the Hundred Acre Woods came to be the place they called their home, they had a very
challenging, and both physically and mentally taxing life. They worked as slaves on a ship known as
the Mayflower. Their slave driver was on a

Tony The Tiger
Tigers are one of the fiercest species in the jungle, known for being courageous, strong, ambitious,
and independent. These animals fight to survive every day, but before knowing any of these
characteristic traits of the tiger I always wondered why people described themselves as the animal.
Tigers have been a great part of American culture, there is "Tony the Tiger" on the cover of the
Frosted Flakes package, "Tigger" the energetic tiger from the animated series "Winnie the Pooh",
there is even two famous songs, one by a band named Survivor called " Eye of the Tiger" and
another by famous pop singer Katy Perry called "Roar". I grew up with those famous references of
the tiger my whole life, but I never thought about the tiger until I read a ... Show more content on

In the first sentence it states that "Aunt Jennifer's tigers prance across a screen"(Rich), which does
not tell the audience much and makes them think about what type of screen it maybe, but there are
only two types of screens that it could possibly be. During this period cell phones were not created
so that is out, computers were not invented yet so that is another no, but there were screens for doors
and screens from a television. I am going to go with door screen because as the protagonist is a
mother she had duties to fulfill at the house, and sitting watching tv was not going to get anything
accomplished. As "Aunt Jennifer" is washing dishes, and tidying up the house for her hard working
husband, she looks outside from her depressing life and looks at her pride and joy, her children.
Going back to the meaning of tigers with their courage, ambitions, and strength the protagonist has
none because she gave it all to her children. You can tell that Jennifer has pride in her children from
the words that are being used in the first stanza, "chivalry", and " do not fear", they are strong, and
they will continue to give great joy and love. By the actions, and thoughts of "Aunt Jennifer" there
you can see how she really feels about her everyday life, by using psychoanalytical criticism you
can see that she loves being a mother to her children, but hates being a

Schizophrenia
Specific Purpose:To inform my audience about Schizophrenia.
Central Idea: Schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder, has two different sets of symptoms, and is
treated in two major ways.
INTRODUCTION
I. (Attention Getter) The world has a population of about 7 billion people. That means that one
percent is roughly 70 million people, enough to almost match the population of California twice.
Now imagine that many seeing, hearing, and believing things that are not physically there . II.
(Reveal Topic) What you are imagining is schizophrenia, my topic for today.
III. (Credibility Statement) I became interested in schizophrenia when watching The Lord of the
Rings with a few friends, when one quipped up, "Ya know, Gollum has schizophrenia. The ring
caused it" and another argued,"He just has a split personality." This forced me to find out who was
right, so I did some research and was able to find a few resources that taught me a lot about
schizophrenia. IV. (Preview) Schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder, has two different sets of
symptoms, and is treated in two major ways.
BODY
I. (MAIN POINT 1) There are two categories of symptoms of Schizophrenia, positive and negative.
A. (SUBPOINT) The positive symptoms are the ones that are easy to identify in a patient. These are
the symptoms that we would associate with someone who is crazy. They are usually exaggerated or

Winnie The Pooh By Winnie Pooh
Winnie–the–Pooh is a tale that spans across generations of childhoods and adulthoods. The gentle
appeal of a soft, simple bear and his group of eclectic friends has captured the hearts of millions.
However, in the search to make Pooh more marketable, drastic changes have been made to the
original text in order to appeal to a wider audience. In my research, I will explore how the
commercialization of Winnie–the–Pooh affected the original text, both in its meaning and
sentimental value. Winnie the Pooh has not always been the stylized, bright yellow bear that we now
see plastered on countless spin–off books, movies, mugs, and shower curtains. On the contrary, the
history behind the first publication of Winnie–the–Pooh is one of sweet and simple origins. A. A.
Milne, the author, wouldn't have even considered writing a children's book if it weren't for his son,
Christopher. Before Christopher's birth in 1920, Milne was a somewhat successful playwright,
mystery author, and humorist for Punch magazine. However, he was inspired to write a book that his
son would cherish by basing it on Christopher's favorite stuffed bear, Winnie. When Milne proposed
the idea of writing children's poetry, his British publisher was disappointed; he was expecting an
adult mystery novel that he knew could sell. After being rejected, Milne went to Punch magazine,
where he was allowed to test out his idea. In 1924, a Pooh–like bear first appeared in the poem
Teddy Bear, which centered on a bear who

Alan Alexander Milne also know as, A. A Milne was a famous English writer throughout his life.
One legacy Milne left behind, was the short story series "Winnie the
Pooh." The author identified the character Christopher Robin after his own son and his animal
playmates who were inspired by the real Christopher Robin's stuff toys.
An example of a short story in the hundred acre woods where Pooh, Piglet and
Rabbit lived. The Rabbit invited Piglet and Pooh to a sleepover at Rabbit's home. After dinner, Pooh
and Piglet were on their way to the bathroom when, Rabbit questioned
"Where are you going"? Pooh replied "to the bathroom." "Why?" asked the Rabbit. "So we don't get
cavities." said Piglet. "What are cavities?" asked the Rabbit. "It's an infection you get in your ...

He also wrote his autobiography, "It's Too Late Now, in 1939. In 1958 after Milne's, death he won
the
Lewis Shelf award. After, Dorthy Milne his wife sold her parts of the book to Walt
Disney company and Winnie–the–Pooh and the other characters of the Pooh stories have lived on as
iconic figures in children's literature(citation).
The popular success books that Milne was best known was, Winnie–the–Pooh and The
House at Pooh Corner. The two volumes identified the adventures of a young boy named
Christopher Robin, after Milne's own son, Christopher Robin Milne and his animal playmates, who
were inspired by the real Christopher Robins stuffed toys. A bear, named
Winnie–the–Pooh was the main character, accompanied by fussy Rabbit, gloomy donkey
Eeyore, bouncy tiger Tigger, kind kangaroo Kanga and her baby Roo along with the wise
Owl, and shy Piglet.
All in all, Milne left behind a legacy of novels and short stories such as , "Peace with Honour,"
which was an anti–war novel, and his autobiography, "It's Too Late Now, but the biggest legacy he
has left behind, is his children stories about the adventures of
Winnie–the–Pooh, which still lives on to this

Research Paper On Disneyland
One week my family decided we would go to Disney land. I was very excited it was going to be my
very first time. I've heard a lot of great stories my friends have told me while they were at Disney
world. We start our journey to Disneyland at about 10:00 am. We have been driving for about two
hours now and we are not even halfway yet. We have stopped at so many gas stations for reasons I
don't want to talk about. We are driving and my little brother falls asleep, which is fine. The one bad
thing about my little brother is that he moves a lot. He could fall asleep on his bed and wake up in
his hallway. I finally get to Orlando and boy does it feel good to see that Disneyland sign. We
decided we would stay in a hotel for the night and go tomorrow. Knowing how much I want to go to
Disneyland I am very tired too. We get to the hotel and there are people at the hotel selling
Disneyland tickets everywhere. We ignore them and we go to the front desk, we get our room and go
to our room. There is a huge TV in our room. It took me so long to fall asleep probably because I
was so excited. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I could only eat half of it because I can't eat pork. There was still a lot of food to go around though.
We ate and bought tickets, then we hopped in the car and started our journey to Disney world. There
were so many signs telling us where to go, there was no way we were going to miss it. We finally
got to this big gate with Mickey on one side and Minnie mouse. Then was a big place with a lot of
cars it looked like a toll booth, but something told me it wasn't. We got through then we went to park
the Walt Disney people parked us at Pluto parking. It was really weird because we had to get on the
trolley to get

The Character Of Eeyore In Winnie The Pooh
Eeyore, a male donkey, is a character from one of my favorite children's books called Winnie–the–
Pooh, created by a man named A.A. Milne. Eeyore is characterized by his sad, negative gestures and
gloomy appearance. He is grey and has a tale with a pink bow on the end that is connected by a
drawing pin. He has poor opinions and thinks he is mostly wrong, he never seems to smile, and also
expects bad things to happen to him. Eeyore lives in a forest called Hundred Acre Wood along with
his other animal friends; Pooh Bear, Piglet, Rabbit, Tigger, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. Christopher Robin
is the little boy that can talk to all of these animals. A.A. Milne created these characters based on his
son, Christopher Robin Milne, stuffed toys. Though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these factors, although there is no certain cause, contribute to the development of the
Dysthymia Disorder, or also known as Persistent Depressive Disorder. The good thing about
Dysthymia Disorder is that there are different types of treatment; medications, therapy, and changes
in one's lifestyle. Medications a doctor might prescribe antidepressants that are fit for that person
such as, Fluoxetine, Zoloft, Amitriptyline, Amoxapine, as well as serotonin inhibitors such as
Duloxetine. One might need to try different medications before they find one that is right for them.
Therapy is another great treatment for Dysthymia Disorder. A therapist can help someone with
Dysthymia Disorder cope with their emotions, understand them, adjust to a change in their life,
encourage positive thoughts, and help show someone a healthy way to express their emotions.
Another suggested treatment for someone with Dysthymia Disorder is lifestyle changes, this
condition is long–lasting so changes in one's lifestyle could help them better cope with their
disorder. Some examples of lifestyle changes are exercising at least 3 times per week, eating a
healthy diet that if fit for a person's weight, avoiding depressants such as drugs and alcohol, picking
up a hobby, and meditating to relax the mind. If these do not work for someone and they are having
a difficult time coping with Dysthymia they should call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at

Where The Magic 's At
"Where the Magic's At"
Each time spent there is different. The people I'm with are different, the conversations, and the
adventures. Whether I'm with my extended family, whose first time it was being at Disneyland or
with my cousins and friends from youth group, and doing things I've never done before. Like riding
the horseless carriage, or going to Toon–town and visiting Minnie's house. Then there was a time
where my family had a little vacation and stayed at Disneyland for three days. And then there are the
times, that you make a spontaneous decision with your sisters one summer, and decide to get an
annual pass, to fill your weekends with things to do. I found myself eating at the Carnation café,

Next she took the I–605 S and then the I–5 for Santa Ana. Car rides at times can be awkward
depending on who you're with. Sometimes silence fills the air, with its presence. Other times silence
doesn't make itself known. This car ride was different, we chatted away about our favorite rides at
Disneyland, how our winter break has been, and how it had been way too long since we've last seen
each other. Suddenly silence, showed up but not in the way that we expected. Shortly after, everyone
was closing their eyes and taking a nap, as we realized that we had a long day ahead of us. Upon
this, we arrived at the park at around 8, and were greeted by millions of cars. There were cars from
myriads of different places. Cars from Arizona, Colorado, Utah and even London! After what felt
like hours, we finally found a parking spot at the Goofy structure and headed down to the escalators
to get our bags checked. While we were in line, our older sister pointed out that Cassandra, Grace
and I were matching in our green parkas and grey hoodies. We laughed about the fact that Aylin
didn't get the memo as she was donning a brown leather jacket. Thereafter, we embarked on the tram
that took us to the front gates of Disneyland Resort.
Now for those of you who probably don't know what Disneyland is, its an amusement park located
in always sunny Southern California. It first opened on July 17th, 1955. The concept for Disneyland
came about when Walt Disney (the founder of the

He is funny, humble, and hyperactive. He does a lot of silly things, and his love for honey is endless

as he climbed he hummed a little hum.). 2. Christoper Robin
He is everyone's best friend and mostly indulges in activities to help his friends to get them out of
tricky situations, most of the times it's the silly old Pooh bear that he helps. He helps Pooh collect
honey, he rescues Roo & Tigger when they are stuck in high trees in the forest and nails

Pathos In The Last Lecture By Randy Pausch
What would you do if you had limited time left to live? Many people take life for granted but when
their life is suddenly compressed into a matter of weeks left, they soon realize the beauty of life and
how they lived it. In response to his restricted time left caused by pancreatic cancer, writer Randy
Pausch argues that life should be lived to the fullest in his book The Last Lecture. He effectively
builds his claim through the use of pathos, allusions to literature, and metaphors. The most
prominent rhetorical device used in the book is Pausch's appeal to pathos. Pausch starts off his story
by saying" The obvious part is being with, and taking care of, my family. While I still can, I embrace
every moment with them, and do logistical things necessary to ease their path into a life without me
(pg 1)" in a way that brutally plays with the reader's emotions. While multiple readers can envision
living with both of their parents for years to come, readers would soon register that Pausch's
children won't have the same opportunity, instead they would suffer the loss of their father at a very
young age.In spite of this, Pausch makes sure that every second spent wouldn't be roaming around
depressed but instead fulfilling even more memorable moments with his ... Show more content on

One major example of this is the metaphor about brick walls."Brick walls are there for a
reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something.(pg 79)"Pausch symbolizes the

converses the message to his readers that life might have obstacles that one should go over but that
should not halt someone from living life fully. This example of metaphor was effective at building
the claim because it shows readers that one should face obstacles as possibilities and to deal with
them with an open mind to sincerely live life to the

Eeyore Figurines Essay
Eeyore figurines have brought color, decoration, and smiles to millions of people around the world.
These adorable works of art are by majority of the population considered to bring happiness on
many occasions. However, the stories and lives of the people who have contributed to making the
pieces of this figurine are unfortunately not so pleasant. With that being said in this paper I would
like to address the history behind making these figurines, the companies that contribute to the
process, and hardships and cruelties that workers go through in order to create something that brings
so much joy and happiness to so many individuals. The Walt Disney Company started in 1923 in the
rear of a small office occupied by Holly–Vermont Realty in Los Angeles. It was there that Walt

Now there is an exact replica of the original casting that Jim Shore had made. Then once that casting
is all cleaned of the silicone molding the craftsman will then proceed to paint the Eeyore figure
using the colors requested by Jim Shore. DecoArt manufactures Americana acrylic paint. Paint is
composed of pigments, solvents, resins, and various additives. The pigments give the paint color;
solvents make it easier to apply; resins help it dry; and additives serve as everything from fillers to
antifungicidal agents. Hundreds of different pigments, both natural and synthetic, exist. "Jim says he
pays particular attention to teaching craftsmen his style of painting. I can't just say, 'Paint this red.' It
may be red, but then there could be added orange, a float of burgundy and a glaze of purple to create
the exact shade I want" (Jim Shore Bio). Now that we have discussed what is needed to make the
Eeyore figurines now we can more forward and talk about the companies that produce the materials
needed for Eeyore and the workers that work in those

The Hero Of Hercules, The Little Mermaid, And The...
Across the Disney canon, a hero follows the monomyth; there is a call to adventure that is aided by
some sort of supernatural aid, the hero then begins to transform while facing challenges or
temptations, these challenges make the character worthy morally and emotionally worthy of our
awe. At one point the character will have a revelation where a transformation will take place and the
old them will "die" and they will be "reborn" with new understanding. Then the character will return
with their reward to the ordinary world. Throughout this journey the character will show how they
are heroic through their journey how they are courageous and willing to make self–sacrifices.

Ultimately Ariel is a hero because of her courage, being a mermaid living on land, and sacrificing
her soul when she falsely believes that Eric is in love with Vanessa (Ursula). Similarly, in The Many
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Pooh is made out to be the hero in the beginning because of her
perceived action of saving Piglet from the flood. In reality, Pooh and Piglet are both heroes in this
film because of their selfless qualities: Piglet sacrifices his home to Owl and Pooh asks Piglet to
move in with her and share her hero party. Overall, the Disney hero is more about what is on the
inside, something that has been reiterated many times songs and shows like Alena of Avalor.
As discussed above all of the characters in their respective films are considered heroes through hero
worship. Hercules for example shows all three signs of hero worship; her has a sudden growth of
unusual fame followed by a marked shift in status where people then develop a certain
sentimentality towards him (3, 54). After saving the two "children" in the gorge and then killing the
hydra Hercules then has a cult like following that is shown through numerous pieces of
merchandise, statues, and murals, which shows how hero worship becomes a social force that makes
the person who is being worshiped into an icon. This kind of icon status puts the hero on a pedestal
where he is viewed as different from regular people and is very sudden as explained in the

How Many Kids is Too Many

  • 1. Having Kids Research Paper I feel that when my parents were thinking of having kids the thought of how many they wanted didn't cross their minds. My parents had eight kids all together and I feel that eight is too many at times, but I still wouldn't want to have it any other way. Growing up with so many people has given me the opportunity to experience seven different personalities and how to get on their nerves. Having this many siblings has its' ups and downs from transportation to fist fight because someone ate someone else's' hidden stash of snacks when clearly they weren't hidden well enough. Many experiences that I have been through recently don't come close to the humiliation I had brought upon myself when I was eleven years old and how my family members used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One Saturday morning I woke up with Winnie the Pooh beside my bed, I didn't put any thought on it, I had to get ready for work and my dad was rushing me to get ready. I finished getting ready I headed downstairs only to find an unusual amount of Poohs decorations, with that in mind I headed outdoors to the car and left for work. On our way home from my uncles, I was thinking of going to bed the Poohs didn't come to mind I just thought that it was weird. When we arrived home all the lights were off as if no one was home, my dad and I walked in I turned on the light and there was nothing, not a sound could be heard. I told my dad I was heading to my room and made my way upstairs. As soon as I opened the bedroom door everyone pops out dressed in Winnie the Pooh costumes, my dad was in one too surprisingly. All of them started dancing around me while singing the Winnie the Pooh theme song, at the same time pointing at me when they said piglet. I put two and two together from the Pooh in the morning when I woke up and the unusual number of them in the house. They were making fun because I was fat and they weren't going to go easy on me, it was their payback. Even since that fateful Saturday night, I was nicknamed "Piglet or Pigs". I was hoping that it would stay between us, but it didn't my uncles, aunts, and cousins ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Essay On A Demolition Derby It was hard to believe that it had been six years since the demolition derby came to Muscle Shoals. My dad was in the newspaper to promote the event. A demolition derby is an event in which you bring stripped cars to an enclosed dirt arena where you crash into each other until there is only one car left running. My family usually has about thirteen cars and we were the biggest promoter for the derby. During what we call derby season, our family was divided by this competition. It was a breezy afternoon and I heard the roaring sound of a derby car engine. I got up from my office chair and rushed to the window to find my dad revving the engine the 'Riddler Car' that I had painted. The car was a grass green and it was covered with purple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I sat down, cut on the fuel pump toggle switch, and made sure that my battery was connected before I turned over the key. As soon as it cranked, the engine came to life, vibrating beneath my feet and in my ears. Little did I know, my brother was also in the back lot, sitting in his derby car. I pulled the shifter into drive and headed towards the fence. I stopped at the fence to check the parking lot before I continued forward, there was no one. BAM! My brother, Kevin, pushed my car into the center of the lot. I remember grumbling to myself about not giving me a chance to prepare. After parking the car in front of the building, a mass of family surrounded us. Everyone had tools in there hand, removing parts and tossing them into another car. Within fifteen minutes or so, the Pontiac was interior was stripped excluding the driver's seat. I was useless to the cause; I couldn't tell the difference between a socket wrench and a lug wrench. Music was playing over the loudspeaker and everyone was enjoying themselves, it was hard to believe that we put this much work into cars just to watch them be destroyed. I aimlessly walked around for a bit, playing on my phone, texting a few friends until my mother called out for me. "Courtney! Bring me a drink please!" I went to the mini– fridge and retrieved two Mountain Dews, one of me and the other for my mother. I walked into the garage bay and found her sitting on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Review Of ' The Hundred Acre Woods ' Once Upon a Time, many years ago their was an enchanted and truly magical place known as The Hundred Acre Woods. You may have heard of this place before. You may have also heard about the family that made this place their home. Although, I am almost certain you don't know the whole story. Let me start of by saying this. Some people think that to be a family you have to be related by blood, but I disagree with this idea. In my opinion, a family is a group of people who have unconditional love for each other and will always stick by one another's side, no matter what the circumstance. The "family" in which I'm referring to are not blood related. I suppose some people would view them as a "group of friends" rather than a "family". This family consists of a bubbly bear named Winnie, a tender & timid piggy named Piglet, an organized rabbit named Rabbit, a melancholy donkey named Eeyore, an exuberant tiger named tigger (T–I– double "guh"–er), a light– hearted joey named Roo, a gentle kangaroo named Kanga (who is Roo's mother), and last but certainly not least, wise owl, named Owl. Many believe that this story, is the story of the creation of The Hundred Acre Woods. The truth is this family didn't have it as good as you may think that had it. Before the Hundred Acre Woods came to be the place they called their home, they had a very challenging, and both physically and mentally taxing life. They worked as slaves on a ship known as the Mayflower. Their slave driver was on a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Tony The Tiger Tigers are one of the fiercest species in the jungle, known for being courageous, strong, ambitious, and independent. These animals fight to survive every day, but before knowing any of these characteristic traits of the tiger I always wondered why people described themselves as the animal. Tigers have been a great part of American culture, there is "Tony the Tiger" on the cover of the Frosted Flakes package, "Tigger" the energetic tiger from the animated series "Winnie the Pooh", there is even two famous songs, one by a band named Survivor called " Eye of the Tiger" and another by famous pop singer Katy Perry called "Roar". I grew up with those famous references of the tiger my whole life, but I never thought about the tiger until I read a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first sentence it states that "Aunt Jennifer's tigers prance across a screen"(Rich), which does not tell the audience much and makes them think about what type of screen it maybe, but there are only two types of screens that it could possibly be. During this period cell phones were not created so that is out, computers were not invented yet so that is another no, but there were screens for doors and screens from a television. I am going to go with door screen because as the protagonist is a mother she had duties to fulfill at the house, and sitting watching tv was not going to get anything accomplished. As "Aunt Jennifer" is washing dishes, and tidying up the house for her hard working husband, she looks outside from her depressing life and looks at her pride and joy, her children. Going back to the meaning of tigers with their courage, ambitions, and strength the protagonist has none because she gave it all to her children. You can tell that Jennifer has pride in her children from the words that are being used in the first stanza, "chivalry", and " do not fear", they are strong, and they will continue to give great joy and love. By the actions, and thoughts of "Aunt Jennifer" there you can see how she really feels about her everyday life, by using psychoanalytical criticism you can see that she loves being a mother to her children, but hates being a ... Central Idea: Schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder, has two different sets of symptoms, and is treated in two major ways. INTRODUCTION I. (Attention Getter) The world has a population of about 7 billion people. That means that one percent is roughly 70 million people, enough to almost match the population of California twice. Now imagine that many seeing, hearing, and believing things that are not physically there . II. (Reveal Topic) What you are imagining is schizophrenia, my topic for today. III. (Credibility Statement) I became interested in schizophrenia when watching The Lord of the Rings with a few friends, when one quipped up, "Ya know, Gollum has schizophrenia. The ring caused it" and another argued,"He just has a split personality." This forced me to find out who was right, so I did some research and was able to find a few resources that taught me a lot about schizophrenia. IV. (Preview) Schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder, has two different sets of symptoms, and is treated in two major ways. BODY I. (MAIN POINT 1) There are two categories of symptoms of Schizophrenia, positive and negative. A. (SUBPOINT) The positive symptoms are the ones that are easy to identify in a patient. • 21. Winnie The Pooh By Winnie Pooh Winnie–the–Pooh is a tale that spans across generations of childhoods and adulthoods. The gentle appeal of a soft, simple bear and his group of eclectic friends has captured the hearts of millions. However, in the search to make Pooh more marketable, drastic changes have been made to the original text in order to appeal to a wider audience. In my research, I will explore how the commercialization of Winnie–the–Pooh affected the original text, both in its meaning and sentimental value. Winnie the Pooh has not always been the stylized, bright yellow bear that we now see plastered on countless spin–off books, movies, mugs, and shower curtains. On the contrary, the history behind the first publication of Winnie–the–Pooh is one of sweet and simple origins. A. A. Milne, the author, wouldn't have even considered writing a children's book if it weren't for his son, Christopher. Before Christopher's birth in 1920, Milne was a somewhat successful playwright, mystery author, and humorist for Punch magazine. However, he was inspired to write a book that his son would cherish by basing it on Christopher's favorite stuffed bear, Winnie. When Milne proposed the idea of writing children's poetry, his British publisher was disappointed; he was expecting an adult mystery novel that he knew could sell. After being rejected, Milne went to Punch magazine, where he was allowed to test out his idea. In 1924, a Pooh–like bear first appeared in the poem Teddy Bear, which centered on a bear who ... • 25. Winnie The Pooh Research Paper Alan Alexander Milne also know as, A. A Milne was a famous English writer throughout his life. One legacy Milne left behind, was the short story series "Winnie the Pooh." The author identified the character Christopher Robin after his own son and his animal playmates who were inspired by the real Christopher Robin's stuff toys. An example of a short story in the hundred acre woods where Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit lived. The Rabbit invited Piglet and Pooh to a sleepover at Rabbit's home. After dinner, Pooh and Piglet were on their way to the bathroom when, Rabbit questioned "Where are you going"? Pooh replied "to the bathroom." "Why?" asked the Rabbit. He also wrote his autobiography, "It's Too Late Now, in 1939. In 1958 after Milne's, death he won the Lewis Shelf award. After, Dorthy Milne his wife sold her parts of the book to Walt Disney company and Winnie–the–Pooh and the other characters of the Pooh stories have lived on as iconic figures in children's literature(citation). The popular success books that Milne was best known was, Winnie–the–Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. The two volumes identified the adventures of a young boy named Christopher Robin, after Milne's own son, Christopher Robin Milne and his animal playmates, who were inspired by the real Christopher Robins stuffed toys. A bear, named Winnie–the–Pooh was the main character, accompanied by fussy Rabbit, gloomy donkey Eeyore, bouncy tiger Tigger, kind kangaroo Kanga and her baby Roo along with the wise Owl, and shy Piglet. All in all, Milne left behind a legacy of novels and short stories such as , "Peace with Honour," which was an anti–war novel, and his autobiography, "It's Too Late Now, but the biggest legacy he has left behind, is his children stories about the adventures of Winnie–the–Pooh, which still lives on to this ... I've heard a lot of great stories my friends have told me while they were at Disney world. We start our journey to Disneyland at about 10:00 am. We have been driving for about two hours now and we are not even halfway yet. We have stopped at so many gas stations for reasons I don't want to talk about. We are driving and my little brother falls asleep, which is fine. The one bad thing about my little brother is that he moves a lot. He could fall asleep on his bed and wake up in his hallway. I finally get to Orlando and boy does it feel good to see that Disneyland sign. We decided we would stay in a hotel for the night and go tomorrow. Knowing how much I want to go to Disneyland I am very tired too. We get to the hotel and there are people at the hotel selling Disneyland tickets everywhere. We ignore them and we go to the front desk, we get our room and go to our room. There is a huge TV in our room. It took me so long to fall asleep probably because I was so excited. ... We finally got to this big gate with Mickey on one side and Minnie mouse. Then was a big place with a lot of cars it looked like a toll booth, but something told me it wasn't. • 33. The Character Of Eeyore In Winnie The Pooh Eeyore, a male donkey, is a character from one of my favorite children's books called Winnie–the– Pooh, created by a man named A.A. Milne. Eeyore is characterized by his sad, negative gestures and gloomy appearance. He is grey and has a tale with a pink bow on the end that is connected by a drawing pin. He has poor opinions and thinks he is mostly wrong, he never seems to smile, and also expects bad things to happen to him. Eeyore lives in a forest called Hundred Acre Wood along with his other animal friends; Pooh Bear, Piglet, Rabbit, Tigger, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. All of these factors, although there is no certain cause, contribute to the development of the Dysthymia Disorder, or also known as Persistent Depressive Disorder. The good thing about Dysthymia Disorder is that there are different types of treatment; medications, therapy, and changes in one's lifestyle. Medications a doctor might prescribe antidepressants that are fit for that person such as, Fluoxetine, Zoloft, Amitriptyline, Amoxapine, as well as serotonin inhibitors such as Duloxetine. One might need to try different medications before they find one that is right for them. Therapy is another great treatment for Dysthymia Disorder. A therapist can help someone with Dysthymia Disorder cope with their emotions, understand them, adjust to a change in their life, encourage positive thoughts, and help show someone a healthy way to express their emotions. Another suggested treatment for someone with Dysthymia Disorder is lifestyle changes, this condition is long–lasting so changes in one's lifestyle could help them better cope with their disorder. Some examples of lifestyle changes are exercising at least 3 times per week, eating a healthy diet that if fit for a person's weight, avoiding depressants such as drugs and alcohol, picking up a hobby, and meditating to relax the mind. Car rides at times can be awkward depending on who you're with. Sometimes silence fills the air, with its presence. Other times silence doesn't make itself known. This car ride was different, we chatted away about our favorite rides at Disneyland, how our winter break has been, and how it had been way too long since we've last seen each other. Suddenly silence, showed up but not in the way that we expected. Shortly after, everyone was closing their eyes and taking a nap, as we realized that we had a long day ahead of us. Upon this, we arrived at the park at around 8, and were greeted by millions of cars. There were cars from myriads of different places. Cars from Arizona, Colorado, Utah and even London! After what felt like hours, we finally found a parking spot at the Goofy structure and headed down to the escalators to get our bags checked. While we were in line, our older sister pointed out that Cassandra, Grace and I were matching in our green parkas and grey hoodies. We laughed about the fact that Aylin didn't get the memo as she was donning a brown leather jacket. Thereafter, we embarked on the tram that took us to the front gates of Disneyland Resort. Now for those of you who probably don't know what Disneyland is, its an amusement park located in always sunny Southern California. It first opened on July 17th, 1955. The concept for Disneyland came about when Walt Disney (the founder of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Pathos In The Last Lecture By Randy Pausch What would you do if you had limited time left to live? Many people take life for granted but when their life is suddenly compressed into a matter of weeks left, they soon realize the beauty of life and how they lived it. In response to his restricted time left caused by pancreatic cancer, writer Randy Pausch argues that life should be lived to the fullest in his book The Last Lecture. He effectively builds his claim through the use of pathos, allusions to literature, and metaphors. The most prominent rhetorical device used in the book is Pausch's appeal to pathos. Pausch starts off his story by saying" The obvious part is being with, and taking care of, my family. While I still can, I embrace every moment with them, and do logistical things necessary to ease their path into a life without me (pg 1)" in a way that brutally plays with the reader's emotions. While multiple readers can envision living with both of their parents for years to come, readers would soon register that Pausch's children won't have the same opportunity, instead they would suffer the loss of their father at a very young age.In spite of this, Pausch makes sure that every second spent wouldn't be roaming around depressed but instead fulfilling even more memorable moments with his ... One major example of this is the metaphor about brick walls."Brick walls are there for a reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something.(pg 79)"Pausch symbolizes the brick walls as adversities and also as opportunities to show how badly one wants something. Pausch converses the message to his readers that life might have obstacles that one should go over but that should not halt someone from living life fully. This example of metaphor was effective at building the claim because it shows readers that one should face obstacles as possibilities and to deal with them with an open mind to sincerely live life to the ... • 49. Eeyore Figurines Essay Eeyore figurines have brought color, decoration, and smiles to millions of people around the world. These adorable works of art are by majority of the population considered to bring happiness on many occasions. However, the stories and lives of the people who have contributed to making the pieces of this figurine are unfortunately not so pleasant. With that being said in this paper I would like to address the history behind making these figurines, the companies that contribute to the process, and hardships and cruelties that workers go through in order to create something that brings so much joy and happiness to so many individuals. The Walt Disney Company started in 1923 in the rear of a small office occupied by Holly–Vermont Realty in Los Angeles. It was there that Walt Disney, and his brother Roy, produced a series of ... Then once that casting is all cleaned of the silicone molding the craftsman will then proceed to paint the Eeyore figure using the colors requested by Jim Shore. DecoArt manufactures Americana acrylic paint. Paint is composed of pigments, solvents, resins, and various additives. The pigments give the paint color; solvents make it easier to apply; resins help it dry; and additives serve as everything from fillers to antifungicidal agents. Hundreds of different pigments, both natural and synthetic, exist. "Jim says he pays particular attention to teaching craftsmen his style of painting. I can't just say, 'Paint this red.' It may be red, but then there could be added orange, a float of burgundy and a glaze of purple to create the exact shade I want" (Jim Shore Bio). Now that we have discussed what is needed to make the Eeyore figurines now we can more forward and talk about the companies that produce the materials needed for Eeyore and the workers that work in those ... • 53. The Hero Of Hercules, The Little Mermaid, And The... Across the Disney canon, a hero follows the monomyth; there is a call to adventure that is aided by some sort of supernatural aid, the hero then begins to transform while facing challenges or temptations, these challenges make the character worthy morally and emotionally worthy of our awe. At one point the character will have a revelation where a transformation will take place and the old them will "die" and they will be "reborn" with new understanding. Then the character will return with their reward to the ordinary world. Throughout this journey the character will show how they are heroic through their journey how they are courageous and willing to make self–sacrifices. Hercules, The Little Mermaid, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately Ariel is a hero because of her courage, being a mermaid living on land, and sacrificing her soul when she falsely believes that Eric is in love with Vanessa (Ursula). Similarly, in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Pooh is made out to be the hero in the beginning because of her perceived action of saving Piglet from the flood. In reality, Pooh and Piglet are both heroes in this film because of their selfless qualities: Piglet sacrifices his home to Owl and Pooh asks Piglet to move in with her and share her hero party. Overall, the Disney hero is more about what is on the inside, something that has been reiterated many times songs and shows like Alena of Avalor. As discussed above all of the characters in their respective films are considered heroes through hero worship. Hercules for example shows all three signs of hero worship; her has a sudden growth of unusual fame followed by a marked shift in status where people then develop a certain sentimentality towards him (3, 54). After saving the two "children" in the gorge and then killing the hydra Hercules then has a cult like following that is shown through numerous pieces of merchandise, statues, and murals, which shows how hero worship becomes a social force that makes the person who is being worshiped into an icon. This kind of icon status puts the hero on a pedestal where he is viewed as different from regular people and is very sudden as explained in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
