2. The class that I will be teaching will be a 5th
grade history class. The class has 20
students. There are 11 girls and 9 boys.
Within this class there are 3 Hispanic, 5
African American, 4 Asians, and the rest are
Caucasian.
3. My main objective for this class is to teach
the students about the different branches of
government, the House of Representatives,
the Senate, and how a bill becomes a law. I
plan on doing this with at least 70% accuracy
and the students will learn through project
based activities and through YouTube videos.
4. Monday- we will discuss
the Legislative branch of
government and
Congress.
Tuesday- we will discuss
the Executive branch and
the President.
Wednesday- we will
discuss the Judicial
branch and the different
levels of courts.
Thursday- we will
discuss the process in
which a bill becomes a
law and the parts each
branch plays in this
process.
Friday- the students will
be split up into different
groups; each group
representing a branch of
govt. and they will think
of something they want
to be a law and they will
go through the process
of getting it passed.
5. For this lesson plan I
could use different
videos on YouTube
to help the students
learn.
I could also use
PowerPoint
presentation as a way
to help them learn
the different
processes and
branches.
