IMPACT OF FISCAL POLICY AND MONETARY POLICY ON THE ECONOMIC GROWTH OF NIGERIA...
Question (7)
1. Question (7)
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
2. 4 things in which I am now better at and more confident with doing in
terms of creating and editing my final media product, is the
following:
I am more confident in creating a product for a specific
demographic and media audience. My confidence for this has
grown since trying to create relationships with groups of people
through the development of my media product.
Another format of editing which I am confident with is the
different commands of Photoshop which I can develop to work
around different ideals of work.
Prezi is another format which I have grown confident within as
I can use this within many other subjects within my school life
to present pieces of my work very neatly and professionally.
Editing through my magazine, I have come across a very
developed skill of writing through my own article, I have grown
confidence within this type of journalism act.
3. The comparative of my Preliminary task to my final product
On the left is my final
product and on the right is
my Preliminary task.
Edited the colour scheme
to be more sleek.
More information
and personality.
4. This is my first and final draft, as you can see there
are quite distinctive changes such as the
photograph and its quality. On my final product
you can see that I have planned the shoot more
effectively to support the idea of it being an indie
magazine. As well as the photograph, I also gave
my font types more of a personality by
differentiating them individually so they can
reflect more diversely. Additionally I wanted the
orange to be a more subtle tone to go with my
new photograph and appear more linked together.
Instead of having black font, I changed this to use
white font so it appears more angelically upon the
blackness of the background and photograph. I
also changed the angel of which the face is
positioned as I think this helped changed the idea
behind the photo instead of looking straight down
showing inferiorness. I’ve made her position her
face to the side so it shows superiorness and
importance. I also changed the thinness of the
font to show a more delicate and professional look
depending on what is written within the article.

5. With my contents page, there is impressive
improvement as my final draft shows more of an
intense imagery. The house style has also been
changed to link with my front cover and double
page spread. Within the development of this
work, I decided to plan ahead and enhance the
articles within my magazine a lot more, adding
more titles to make my magazine seem more
professional and complete with information. To
complete my contents page, I had to research
other music magazines and see how they
addressed their content and placed mastheads,
footers etc. I wanted my magazine to appeal to
fans of Indie music, so once again I added a
unisexual colour to stereotypically link with the
genre of Indie music. I also added the subtitle
“Gifts Inside!” to appeal to the younger
demographic and give them exclusive
merchandise such as CDs, Posters, Badges etc.
Taken from my magazine inspirations, I mimicked
the numbers in the corner of the photographs to
access a more planned and performed look of my
magazine.

6. Preliminary task to final media product
After I had completed my final media product, I took a look back over my preliminary task to see the difference and
improvements in which I have taken aboard. I can now see the things in which I have learnt to adapt to my magazine
cover, magazine contents page and the double draft. Through these adaptations, I have produced an ideal final
product that captures my demographic and target audiences attention. The preliminary task has taught me to stay
organised through the creation of my product and to have every piece of the task planned so I can analyse it and
write why I have included this. Using Photoshop and a professional canon camera has helped me to form an eye for
angles and angle sizes in which would properly support the images placed on the front of my magazine. I also now
feel confident to the point where I can look at a genre and analyse the codes and conventions for it. Within the
editing of my preliminary task, there were various transitions which enabled my magazine to provide the codes and
conventions of an Indie magazine, which also allowed my product to look high quality and gain a good personality.
However despite the development of my media product, I have kept some qualities the same such as the vivid
orange involved yet have changed the black and white themed photograph and kept it as the original colouring.
Another thing that I subtlety have changed is the position of which the model has posed in. The first draft of my
magazine has a very innocent outlook of the girl with the style of her hair as well as how she is photographed in a
mid-close up. This is shown differently on my final product as the woman is quite sexualised in the position which
she is modelling in and by the angle which is a mid-long shot. However this is quite a minor sexualised pose as only
her arms can reveal how she is seen by the audience, Yet this is not the idea behind the photograph. Through this
imagery as well, we can connote the demographic audience which would buy my magazine, as with the first draft
you would assume it would be young white female teenagers but now with the final product you could just assume
it was a diverse group of young people from age 16- 21 as this could reflect the final product.
7. The preliminary task we were assigned was to create the front cover of a magazine, a contents page and a double
page with an own written article. The reason of this task was to learn how to co-operate our own media task to
relate to a specific target audience. It also gave us a basic understanding of how to capture a specific groups
attention depending on what type of media product we are producing. It also helped us improve our understanding
of Photoshop and other formats of technology. It was beneficial as I had the opportunity to create a professional
type of product which would have an actual prime buyer. The development of the magazine helped me figure out
which artist or photographs would help support the genre of music I was writing about. While carrying out this task,
I was tasked with many challenges, One of the most challenging issues were to be able to present the magazine with
clarity. This meant the pages in which I created and edited myself would be distributed all together and link together
so it would not be messy and confusing to form as a final product. Through this development, I was able to improve
on the techniques I used to provide my magazine with initial editing that would help make the product come
together and reflect a proper professional product. The completion of my preliminary task was beneficial as this
basic trial product would help form my final product as I could see what I would need to work on and improve. The
preliminary task gave me key knowledge of how to use technological formats and a better understanding of how to
create this, and how to make the target audience perspective clear within the product process.
This is a screenshot of the basis of my magazine performed on the
format of Photoshop, we were assigned this task to test our skills on
creating a successful product.
8. After the completion of my media product, overall I think my magazine screams professionalism because the
photograph looks sleek and defined within what it is portraying which is enhanced by the lighting. I feel as if
throughout the progression of my magazine, I most enjoyed using the Photoshop format to create and edit different
forms of text that would look like it belonged upon a front cover of a magazine and were completely appropriate for
my target audience. However on my front cover, I could have anchored the image more effectively so that the
readers and target audience could distinctly tell the significance of the artist within the magazine. My final product
in comparison to my preliminary product shows great differences, as the photographs are extremely improved as I
planned the shots more efficiently and effectively by positioning the lighting more ideally within the photograph
whereas with my first draft I didn’t show this and the image lacked quality and high standards. By the end of my final
drafts, I had created a sleek magazine ideally for a young audience although it appeared to be for an older
generation from the appearance of it and the limited selection of colours. If I had to prepare another magazine type
product for another young audience I would use vivid colours with an intensity that appealed to younger teenagers.
Through this criticism of my own work I am able to see what I could improve and change to perform a more ideal
product, However I can also accept that I created a product fit to be an indie music based product that appeals to an
audience even if it is not my target audience.
