Offshore Stage 3 Crane Operator & Mechanic /
Sparrows, Perenco UK Southern North Sea
- The safe operation of the NUI and platform pedestal cranes (Liebherr, Kenz, Roto, National,
Stothert, Pitt, Sea-king) in accordance with risk assessments, COSHH, Perenco UK and Sparrows
standards.
- Mechanical overhauls (replacement of sheaves, engine re-builds, rope change outs, hydraulic
pumps & motors), breakdowns & repairs (engine change outs, hydraulic faults, splitter
gearboxes, winches) and major crane re-builds (full crane removal/ installation, boom removal/
installation).
- Carrying out the crane and lifeboat maintenance.

- The use of MAXIMO to plan and prioritise the oncoming years’ worth of maintenance and if
required ordering spare parts for the jobs and to maintain the critical stock inventory.
- Ensuring all crane and lifeboat maintenance & certification is kept up to date.
- Liaising with the client and onshore support advising on crane faults within the field.
- Assisting with platform mechanical work scopes (for example, rebuild of Ruston Gas Turbine,
valve maintenance, fault find and rectification on Cummins engine).
- Supervising Ad-Hoc personnel.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain a weekly handover.
- Rigging and hose loft management.
2011 – 2014

crane replacement).

I have lots of experience working as part of a team throughout my employment. I feel that keeping
momentum in a team is very important and I would hate to let my team down in any way. This drives
