Coaches Review: In this session, Rob was only introduced to the program
therefore Rob wasn’t really motivated. Rob is keen to move
on to the advancing weeks as he is keen to improve his
flexibility. Rob also wants to do the sessions on his own as he
can interlink this into other training programs e.g. Rob can do
this after his gym sessions.
Coaches Review: Watching Rob in his game it was hard to tell if he has
controlled his anxiety as I haven't previously watched Rob in a
spectator perspective .

Coaches Review: As Rob didn’t have a game at the weekend, this had to be
done in his college game. I also played in the game so again
had to question Rob after about his imagery. Rob also used his
relaxation prior to the game I feel that visual as a team mate I
could see Rob wasn’t as stressed and had a good level of
arousal.
Athlete Feedback
/ Questions:
Rob said he enjoyed the session and can start to feel his joints
becoming more mobile. Rob asked if I can help him in future
with new sessions
Athlete Feedback
/ Questions:
Rob really enjoyed the relaxation before the game as it gave
him time to focus on the game and not worry about external
factors. Rob felt the imagery again worked especially with his
kicking as he has a lot of time to mentally prepare.

8. Describe whether the tests show that
progress is being made as planned?
• In terms of flexibility Rob has improved his score from
initial testing as his best score was 21. After the four weeks
of training it had increased respectively to 24.
• Rob’s test results scored 28 for anxiety, which is high on the
normative scale. His previous results scored 29 so although
there has been an improvement it is very minimal. I
thought there would have been more of an improvement
as Rob feedback suggested that he thought that the
imagery and relaxation/stress management techniques
were more beneficial. Even though the score hasn't really
improved I am pleased with the progress.
9. Does the mid point review show that weeks 5-8
need to be adapted?
Describe How you will adapt your sessions?
• The mid point review has shown that the 5-8 week plan
does not need to be adapted as Rob has made progression
in both his flexibility trait and his control of anxiety, I will
continue to monitor Rob’s progress and make sure that for
the last 3 weeks of training that I continue to take into
account the FIT principle by sticking to my 8 week training
plan. I think that my plan for the next 4 weeks is suitable
and will assure that progression continues. One
consideration I have to take into account is to assure Rob
doesn’t become too flexible, especially in the shoulders as
this can cause injury. Another consideration I have to take
into account is that Rob doesn’t control his anxiety too well
as it may cause him not have high arousal levels which may
affect his performance.
