Boom time for British films in the 1990’s The 1990s saw a variety of films all making big money. One of the biggest films of all was called Four weddings and a Funeral. This film managed to bring in 220 million dollars worldwide and introduced Hugh Grant to global fame, led to renewed interest and investment in British films, and set a pattern for British-set romantic comedies.
