5. Develop communication in varied situations
personal, academic, professional..in a
natural way, understanding and producing
texts with rich vocabulary and structures,
dealing with topics that are abstract and
concrete, of a general or specialized
character, in different registers and styles.
6. Speaking: debating, discussing, negotiating,
presentations (complex topics).
Reading: authentic books, internet,
newspapers.
Listening: interviews, YouTube, radio, news,
TV, TED talks.
Writing: expressing opinions, discursive
essays, articles, formal letters (covering
letters, job applications, asking for funding,
suggesting a course of action), making
proposals and reviews)
7. Review grammar (inversion and fronting,
ways of expressing emphasis, modal
verbs, tenses and complex phrasal verbs,
complex verb patterns, prepositions and
relative clauses)
Review and learn vocabulary: specialised
and abstract, colloquial and academic
expressions, idioms, and common sayings.
Topics: work, health, gaming and sports,
current affairs, history, headlines, news
and media, business, trends, law and
crime.
9. At least, one authentic book from a selection
you can find in Aula Virtual to share in a book
club class in February and for a book review
compilation in a padlet.
10. Oral presentation:
5 minutes based on an article from a recent
newspaper or magazine in English and
commenting on vocabulary at the end (with a
short follow-up in-class discussion in grupo
presencial).
Grupo presencial: Thursdays at the beginning
of the class.
Grupo semipresencial: online on Thursdays

12. OBLIGATORY
It is mandatory to attend, at least,
70% of classes to be assessed by
continuous assessment (evaluación
de progreso)
Everyone can do the exams in
“evaluación extraordinaria” in May,
even if they haven’t come to class.
13. Communicative, but YOU HAVE TO SPEAK,
PARTICIPATE and do the ONLINE WORK (mainly if
enrolled in a “curso semipresencial”.)

17. Now you are in, to be able to work, you will
have to register in the course, using the
enrolment code: C212021. If you are not
asked to provide the code when you enter,
try to do an activity, for example, the first
course task, write in the forum, you will be
asked to enrol, do it with the code. You can
start working.

19. Listen to the radio in English, watch series
and films in English, talk to native English
Speakers, read newspapers, magazines,
books in English, go to the school’s library.
Come to class.
20. 1) CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT: through work in class,
written assignments, oral presentation and task.
Obligatory: minimum 70% attendance
-Students will be informed about their progress
before Christmas and on 10th March (the marks
from these two periods will be worth 25% of the
final mark).
- Final assessment session: 4th May: students will be
informed about final mark (marks from March to
May will account for 50% of the final mark)
2) Exam Convocatoria extraordinaria
(2nd half May), (to be announced).
21. The marks collected will be from each of the following five parts:
A minimum of 5 (out of 10) must be obtained in each part. If the
total averages 5, the course will be passed.
In Convocatoria Extraordinaria in May, only the skills that
haven’t been passed must be retaken. This will be a
conventional exam, although shorter than Prueba de
Certificación.
