owners establish their
businesses, many think of
how to get the first group
of customers interested in
their products or services.
For some, digital marketing is not the first
thing that comes to mind, even though it
can accelerate their efforts. Indeed, many
consumers spend a lot of time in the digital
space, so it makes even more sense for a
business to try to reach them.

The Audience is Online
When people get interested in a brand,
product or service, chances are they’ll
search for it online. They expect to see a
website, some content around the offering,
and even a presence on social media. Some
look for reviews from previous customers. If
customers don’t find this information, they
might conclude the company isn’t legitimate
or not take it seriously enough to engage.
The Competition is Online
Competitors are more than just the
businesses that are a direct threat to yours;
you can also learn from them. In the digital
age, many of them have an online presence
that can be reviewed to form ideas about
what does and doesn’t work.
