2. The exorcist
Mise- en- scene
The setting in the scene I chose was when the priest comes and try’s to take
the demon out of the girl Reagan. The setting of this scene is in a bedroom
where the possessed girl. The room looked blue and grey. Reasons for this is
to make the scene look scary. Another thing in this scene is when the there’s
like a gush of coldness coming from the demon. This is what makes a horror
movie because of the setting.
3. Sound
• In the Exorcist there are different sounds. In the scene I chose you
can hear the cracks in the ceiling and you can also hear smashing
glass and splintering wood. This is how you know that something is
going wrong. you can also hear the priest shouting in anger trying
to get the demon out of Reagan. When the priest is casting the
demon out of the Reagan you can here the demon breathing
heavily in anger because its being casted out.
4. Lighting
• Lighting in this scene gets darker it creates loads of shadows on
certain characters in the movie. The priest looks lighter than the
other characters in the movie this is because the priest has
probably done these things before its there job to be casting out
demons.
5. Editing
• The editing in this film is really gory and scary. When Reagan is in
the bed there's one particular part were her he turns all the way
round. This is kind of a jump scare.
6. Camera
• With the exorcist there was loads of close ups of the possessed girl
reagon. These close up was to basically make Reagan stand out.
The scene I chose there where close ups on different things e.g.
the cracks in the ceiling and the falling Objects that was caused
by the demon.
