Developing a master plan for social villa housing is located on a man-made island off the coast of Muharraq in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The project included over 3000 villas in six residential assets with a communal park in the center. Developing architectural construction documentation for the villa designs with optional façade types to form residential communities. Developing presentations for the ultimate client Ministry of Housing in Bahrain.

At 12 square kilometres and with an investment
value of BHD 1.2 billion (USD 3.2 billion), it is one of
the biggest mixed-use urban development's ever
undertaken by the private sector in Bahrain.

2. Mott MacDonald | Project Habitat
The project will be located on twelve man-made
islands off the coast of Muharraq. Aimed at
accommodating more than 100,000 people, Diyar
Al Muharraq unlike any other project of such scale
in the Kingdom, will have residents from every
strata of society. Mott MacDonald were appointed
to develop a 140ha master plan for six residential
assets accommodating total over 3,000 villas. The
detail design includes road, electricity, water and foul
water infrastructure, villas and communities design.
The project was a high profile with the Ministry of
Housing of Bahrain being an ultimate client. The
affordable and social housing villa types have
been developed based on the Ministry typical
units. We have developed eight facade types
which would be treated with different colours
and texture types to form distinct neighbourhood
communities. We had to adopt the typical units
design to suit the nature of the development and
deliver within the budget setup by the developer.
