2. What is it?
The Adherence Model is a tool for companies and health
professionals to evaluate consideration of adherence in medical
technology (e.g. treatments and monitoring).
The model include general factors agreed on by professionals from
the AHSN, NHS, CPI, Philips Europe, medical design experts, and
psychology academics. The advanced version of the model doesn’t
include factors so the team can add the factors they know affecting
the target patient.
The Adherence Model is a result of research done during the PhD
study about “How Design Thinking can Improve Adherence in Sef-
Administered Technology” by Rafiq Elmansy

3. HOW IT WORKS
1. Assemble the team
2. Determine to use the general or the
professional version
3. Print the Adherence Model
4. Prepare materials such as coloured pens
5. Determine to use the voting only or 2
rounds Delphi (anonymous voting)
