2. What is Carbon Dioxide: Carbon dioxide is a chemically known as CO2, carbon dioxide is made up of two parts oxygen and one part plain carbon.

11. Heart Trachea Through our lungs we breathe in many different gases including oxygen and carbon dioxide. This is how the carbon dioxide gets into our system. Lungs Aorta Pulmonary arteries ( to lungs) Right atrium Left atrium Pulmonary veins ( from Lungs) Left Ventricle Right Ventricle Vena Cava Artery

12. The used blood containing carbon dioxide is bluish in color. The deoxygenated blood enters through the right side of our heart.

13. The blood is then pumped into the lungs collecting oxygen and becoming more reddish in color.

16. This is were most of the carbon dioxide is lost.

17. The now oxygenated blood moves back through the pulmonary arteries into the left side of the heart.

20. Once it is back in the left side of the heart, it is pumped around the body delivering nutrients and oxygen.

21. It then returns back to the right side of the heart to repeat the cycle again.
