What Are The Responsibilities Of A Good Parents
What are three responsibilities of a good parent?
Being a parent could be one of the most difficult jobs a person would ever have to undertake as a
profession. Being a parent is a full–time job that never ends despite the fact that children mature.
Anyone can become a parent once they've conceived or adopt a child but being a good parent comes
with a lot of ups and downs. A good parent can be expressed as someone who demonstrates to his or
her child the difference between what's right and what's wrong. It is very significant for us to teach
our children from an early age what is right. Children should be trained to respect their elders,
leader, parents and the laws of the country in which they live. A parent never spoils his or her child

A child should be scold for whatever they have done wrong and in return taught the right way in
which it should be done. Good parents show love and affections to his or her child. Children need to
feel loved by their parents; it creates a sense of safety, comfort and trust between the child and his or
her parent. A good parent is a role model to his or her child; parents should portray all the good
characteristics of a good human being. Being a positive role model for proper behavior is more
effective than specific disciplinary measures. Children learn through observation and often mimic
the behavior of their parents. A proper parent would make sure they teach his or her child moral
values and kindness such as compassion, honesty, tolerance, patience and unconditional love.
Therefore, the three responsibilities of a good parent are your child's

Hi-Power Case Study
Background
Hi–Power is a men's garment wholesale company owned by my parents. The company was found in
1996 and previously involves the manufacturing department and the wholesales department. The
older brother of my father operated the manufacturing department, and my father managed the
wholesale department. My uncle designed, produced, and shipped clothes in Fujian, while my father
received orders in Guangzhou. Back in that period, when there are few companies consisted of both
manufacturing and wholesales and these two departments are so closely connected, the revenue and
profit are considerable. After several years when China joint the WTO, many competitors entered
into the men's garment market and quickly seize a big portion of the market share. My uncle decided
to close the manufacturing factory, while my father insisted in running the wholesale department in
Guangzhou. Since he did not have the original purchase channels, he had to find other partners who
could provide clothes for him. He then sells those products to foreign retailers. Reminding the
distribution channel, Hi–Power is a wholesaler in the first channel, which is the longest one that
includes all producer, wholesaler, retailer, and consumer.
Internal Environment
In addition to factors listed above that will affect the men's garment industry, some elements inside
of the industry will affect Hi–Power as well. These factors are threat of new entrants, power of
suppliers, power of buyers, product

Can Men Be Good Single Parents? Essay
Can Men Be Good Single Parents?
Arvind Naik (name changed) lost his wife when their daughter was barely a few months old. "It was
overwhelming, the first few days. Then one day she looked at me and smiled for no reason. I was
totally crushed. It has been seven years now and I cannot tell you how blessed I feel. My sister and I
were raised by my mother. Our father was hardly ever around when we were kids. Now that I am a
single parent, I realize how tough it must have been for her and how much she loved us. The only
reason I wake up at 5 am every day is because I love my daughter more than I love my sleep," he
laughs, "I just wish my mom could have seen us and I could thank her for everything."
When it comes to children, there is a general acceptance that men are not as hands on as women.
While there are exceptions, a 2015 report, 'State of the World 's Fathers '(#) says that even today
women still spend between 2–10 times longer then men in unpaid care giving, including on their
children. And there is no country where males share unpaid domestic and care work equally with
females.
Fathers do of course matter and it is beyond a doubt that a father 's involvement, positive or
negative, or the lack of it, has a lifelong impact on the child. But what happens in situations when
the father is the sole care giver? And how does it affect the children, and the father themselves?
The situation obviously alters depending on the age of the child and the reason for the singleness.

What makes a good parent according to Dr. Tanya Byron?
According to Dr. Tanya Bryon she states that being a good parent is one that doesn't worry a lot
about being a good one. She said that parents who follow a book or a step–by–step process tend to
have problems. Parenting should be done by the heart not from someone or something else.
What are some of the common problems that children might have?
Sleeping, Toilet problems, eating problems, and sometimes catching temper tantrums.

Do you think the fathers enjoy fatherhood more today than in the past? Why or why not?
Yes I believe the fathers enjoy fatherhood more today than in the past because parenting at an early
age is kind of tougher and as a young person you would want to get a job or start a career first,
whereas the men now are in their 30's which gave them a little break because their maturity level
increased rather than when they were young and they have good paying careers to help financially
become a parent.
What are some of the difficulties that new fathers (and mothers) face?
Some of the difficulties that new fathers and mothers face is sleep deprivation. Being in the child's
life alone is hard, everyone is different in many ways so you have to put in hard work and dedication
to meet the criteria of the baby.

What are some of the benefits of being "childish"?
Some of the benefits of being of being childish can include making irrational demands, and being
irresponsible.
Why does Svitak say that adults should listen and learn from kids and not just have kids learning
from kids? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Svitak says that since kids do much of the learning from adults, it should be somewhat the opposite
and adults should learn sometimes from kids. Although most adult's knowledge is way higher than a
child's, there may be something the

What Does A Good Parent Versus A Bad Parent?
Analyze the problem scenario that you have chosen, and organize your analysis into sections that
correlate to each step in the selected problem solving strategy. The scenario is a child has come
home with a school project and he or she is excited and has begun to work on the assignment by
starting research and collecting materials. The goal is to encourage the child to develop
responsibility for his/her own learning. In the scenario it was also noticed that another parent in the
store who had bought $30 worth of materials, taken the day off and was putting the project together
for their child. In Einstein's article "Einstein's Secret to Amazing Problem Solving" he outlines ten
steps to help clearly define the problem and then being able to reach a logical solution. After
analyzing, the problem and being able to rephrase the problem addressed the biggest concern, which
is "What does a good parent versus a bad parent look like in this situation? This led to the next step
of "exposing and challenging assumptions" The assumption the parent was better because they did
all the work led to understanding it is possible they are not the better parent because the child learns
nothing about responsibility. It is possible the child will also have the feeling the parent has no faith
in their abilities to complete the project. Second assumption was because the parent was doing all
the work they were doing a better job of supporting their child. By exposing and challenging these

Good or Bad Customer Service Essay
A large part of being a good service provider is ensuring customer convenience.
Study findings show that strong leadership systems focus on customers, motivate employees, and
implement their customer service vision. They also focus great attention on gathering the
information needed to track customer satisfaction, and employees overall performance. Customer
service should be designed and delivered seamlessly from the customer's point of view. Customer–
driven operations lead to success. Decentralized, uncoordinated customer service provision makes
for a most frustrating experience for customers.

I took my family to our local McDonalds for lunch a week ago (after 1 pm) and waited in line for
over 25 minutes with only 4 other customers in line before us. Of the two cash registers originally
open, one lady (unable to read name covered by apron) left without informing the people in line
directly in front of her that she was closing. The assistant manager (I assume since he had no name
tag but was wearing a striped shirt (everyone else was wearing green shirts)) was called to the front
4 times to correct erroneous orders, and finally opened another register. Unfortunately, he waited on
us. We ordered salad shakers that ended up being (at best) warm. He needed to return to the register
for each item, and even then had the order messed up. He literally threw my children's orders of
French fries on the tray as well as their burgers. While we were waiting, I watched one rather
slovenly worker (with a large grease stain and cheese on his BACK) throw a "to–go"
bag and complain to the people in the back about being busy. There appeared to be more than
enough people working, but planning and management were severely lacking.
I recently visited another McDonalds in my area with my kids and my little cousin, then I have
another disappointment. I ordered the kid meal for him; it came with a toy and a drink with the
meal. I asked for milk, which to me is more nutritious than soda. Soda does have gobs of sugar in
them, which is not healthy for any human young or

Mrs. Alexandra, from my understanding, a good parent is one who creates a safe nurturing
environment for a child to grow up in, displays characteristics of a positive role model, and is an
active part of a child's life. (Atticus, look at Scout and Jem affectionately ) Good parents provide
moral guidance, sets limitations, and implements consequences for a child's behavior. (Atticus, use a
ruler and slap it in your hand looking at Scout and Jem symbolizing a Spanking as punishment)
Atticus is a very effective parent to Scout and Jem. I know he is constantly working; but rest

from Atticus or something to show he is explaining an idea to Scout and Jem. Scout and Jem need to

Scout to think about things from a perspective other than her own. He said, "don't judge someone
until you've walked in their shoes." (The person putting on the shoe, please put it on now [As

time when Walter Cunningham received ill–mannered criticism from Scout after he came over for
dinner and poured syrup all over his meal. (Whoever is pouring syrup container, please do it now,[
as mentioned in props]) When Scout or Jem needs comforting, Atticus is always there for them.

Good Or Bad Against Same Sex Parents
Same–Sex Parents Good or Bad? Gay parents has been a heavily talked about topic that has been
talked about in a classroom to Congress and everything in between. People have made fun of or
looked down on same– sex parents while others think that this would not be harmful and a great
thing to have. So, I ask you "do you think gay parents should be allowed to be parents or not?" This
question has been asked repeatedly, yet nobody knows the answer. In the article "Gay Parenting is
Harmful" by George Dent has many excellent points on why gay parenting is harmful. One claim
that George makes is that it could confuse the child and his sexual orientation because when the kid
sees same sex parents according to Diana Baumrind a researcher stated that the kids are more to
have sexualization at a younger age. Another point that George makes is that homosexual parents
are not as strong as heterosexual parents are because George believes that a man in woman have a
stronger relationship because it has the father figure to show the child how much he cares about his
wife, so the child can see how much a man and women can love and care for each other. George
goes on saying that "homosexuals are less inclined than heterosexuals to marry, and gays who do
marry have a high divorce rate." George follows this up with the clam that gay parents more males
then females marry at a later age then heterosexual couples because they are not into a committed
relationship that "normal couples" are and

Parents Should Be A Good Parent
Through the entire interview process, four of the eleven participants, two males, one was in the
younger age group and the other was in the older age group, and two females, again with one from
each group, explicitly said what my research has explained: children raised by gay parents learn to
become more open towards others than children raised by straight parents. All of the participants
gave answers that aligned with my research on the kind of parent a child needs and what a healthy
household consists of. Each contributor believed that love and support, as well as a handful of other
qualities leads to a well–developed child. The handful of qualities mentioned by informants were:
stable, mature, and responsible. Informants believe a parent should be someone who is capable of
caring for someone else. No one mentioned a single thing about the sexual orientation required to be
a good parent; society does not take sexual orientation into consideration when describing who
could be a good parent.
To contrast what I found in researching to what I found informants had to say, two interviewees
depicted gay parenting as "not the norm", or "not normal in today's society", both from the younger
age group, one female and one male. Moreover, men tended to suppose that a child having gay
parents will be "predisposed" to "gay tendencies" and will therefore become confused with their
sexual orientation or may lean towards more "gay tendencies". Of all the men who thought this, two

Why Is Atticus Finch A Good Parent
I believe that Atticus Finch is a good parent. A good parent consists of many things, such as honesty,
trust, and protection of children. A couple reasons why Atticus Finch is a good parent are that he is
very honest with his children, he always tries to protect his children, and last but not least Atticus
always lets his children learn from real life experiences, and does not just tell them stories. To begin,
Atticus tries to protect Jem by accepting the fact that Bob Ewell fell on his knife, and that Jem did
not kill him. The author cites evidence that illustrates Atticus's acceptance on page 370, "'Scout,' he
said, 'Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. Can you possibly understand?'" Basically, Atticus is asking Scout
if she can understand that Mr. Ewell fell on his knife, and that Jem did not kill him. This evidence
highlights that Atticus has accepted this, and he wants Scout to as well. ... Show more content on

For example, on page 370, the text states "'Scout,' he said, 'Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. Can you
possibly understand?'" Basically, Atticus is trying to explain to Scout that Mr. Ewell fell on his
knife. From this, I can infer that this evidence supports my claim, because it shows how Atticus tries
to be honest with his children, and wants to protect them with the truth. As an illustration, in the text
on page 291 the book reads, "'I wish Bob Ewell wouldn't chew tobacco,' was all he said about it." In
the literal sense, Atticus does not want to cause problems, so he says simple phrases to protect Jem
and Scout, as well as to protect their innocence. From this I can infer that this evidence supports my
reason, because it shows how Atticus is simple with his children. These pieces of evidence clearly
suggest how Atticus uses honesty and simplicity to protect his

A Good Enough Parent With An Inadequate Parent Essay
This essay will compare and contrast a good enough parent with an inadequate parent in terms of
their relationship with their child. A good enough parent is a term developed by Psychoanalyst
Donald Winnicott. Winnicott (1962) believed that a child's independence into adulthood is
developed by their ability to adapt to the external environment. The child's internal world must be
nurtured, and the child's external world must be supportive and loving. Just as an infant requires a
good enough parent, the infant also requires a 'good–enough' environment (Derobertis, 2010).
According to Winnicott, key aspects of a good enough environment are holding, handling, and
object–presenting. These aspects allows the infant to develop a True Self. If these key aspects are
not provided, a False Self will develop instead. The False Self arises from a 'not good enough'
environment, or inadequate parenting. Inadequate parenting can be a result of family projection
process, delegation, or trauma. These terms will be explained later. Unfortunately, inadequate
parenting can lead to insecure parent–infant attachments. John Bowlby's (1969) attachment theory
explains how the intergenerational transmission of relationship patterns across generations impacts a
child's ability to develop into a healthy adult. Bowlby believed that the parent's mental
representation of attachment influences the outcome of the infant–parent relationship. (Fonagy,
Steele & Steele, 1991). Bowlby believed infants

Three Responsibilities Of A Good Parent
What are three responsibilities of a good parent?
Being a parent could be one of the most difficult occupation a person could ever possess. Parenting
is a full–time job that never ends; regardless the fact that children mature. One can become a parent
once his wife conceives an offspring or they adopt a child. Being a good parent accompanies
numerous great or terrible times. A good parent exhibits the difference between what's right and
reprehensible. It's significant for parents to teach their children what's right from an early age.
Children ought to have respect for elders, leader, parents and the laws of the nation in which they
live. Parents ought not to spoil their child as to quote a saying "spare the rod and spoil the child".

Firstly, a good parent shields the child from physical, sexual and emotional abuse. For example, a
single mother dating or in a relationship with a male panther must be careful with her daughter
around him particularly in the event that he's concentrating or engross with her daughter. As a dating
single parent, your children are in danger of being sexually or physically abused. The headline of the
daily newspapers published various sexual abuses towards children under the age of sixteen. As
parent's, it's one's obligation to take a silent promise to shield one's child from being abused.
Secondly, a good parent would keep all hazardous objects locked up or out the reach of the child.
For instance, mothers with babies need to ensure all cords and electrical sockets are secured, to
avoid infants from pushing any objects into it. Thirdly, parent's must consider safety persecutions to
protect the child. For example, when taking your little child for a drive, one ought to ensure that the
car seat is strapped in and the car door is locked before leaving the garage. As a result, the well–
being of your child must be crucial to the

Definition Essay: What Does Good Parents Mean?
What does being a good parent mean? Is a parent expected to have faults, and allowing those faults
to continue and grow in their children? Must a good parent meet the expectations that society has
created? One may argue that a good parent can be defined as one who creates a stable environment
for his or her child. To be classified as a good parent, one must be willing to make sacrifices that
would allow his or her child to prosper.
The definition of sacrifice is "the surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the
sake of something that is considered as having a higher or more pressing claim" (Dictionary.com).
Often times, a parent must sacrifice something treasured to them for the well being of their kids. "

Safety could be defined as being away from risk or danger. Many parents regard the safety of their
children as one of the utmost important things. Many parents wish to keep their child protected from
danger while some believe that a little exposure to danger helps build character. The image provided
by ask ideas uses satire to mock certain parenting styles when in a vehicle. "Don't make me run this
car off the road! I swear to god I'll kill us both"(ask ideas). The image clearly uses sarcasm by
labeling this as "great parenting". On the surface, the image is stating that the better approach to the
situation in the vehicle is reacting in a calm manner. When viewing this image a little more
intensely, one can conclude that the image is truly stating that when in a situation involved with
children, one must approach things calmly and collectively, in order to not compromise the safety of
anyone involved. "When he'd plucked all the pebbles from my cheeks and forehead, he took out his
handkerchief and tried to stop my nose from bleeding. It was dripping like a broken faucet. "Damn,
honey," he said. "You busted your snot locker pretty good." I started laughing really hard. "Snot
locker" was the funniest name I'd ever heard for a nose." (Walls 19). Even in a grave situation, a
good parent must not freak out, because that would stress out the child and make the situation much
more difficult. Accidents happen. Not everything will turn out perfectly alright, but that's okay
because a good parent will figure the situation out. The video posted by Delgado clearly mocks the
approach that some parents take in order to deal with their kids. Violence is not the answer to

Parents Must Make A Good Parent
Parents serve no purpose. Parents provide no help. Parents give no benefits to children. Children
could easily live without parents. Everyone has parents; it's inevitable. Whether or not children
believe that their parents behave in a way to benefit them is a decision they choose to make. These
statements differ from reality, parents truly represent some of the greatest people in our world; they
do serve a purpose and they impact their children immensely. For some children, they may see the
discipline from their parents as their parents failing at their jobs. In actuality, parents need to
discipline to structure their children into mature adults. They need to show love and forgiveness
even though sometimes it may seem impossible. Children will become the future and parents hold
responsibility for that. Therefore, parents must mold them into adults that our future needs. A good
parent should model three essential qualities: forgiveness, discipline, and love.
The first essential quality includes a good parent modeling forgiveness. For example, my
grandmother spent the majority of her relationship with her husband, my grandfather, battling
against alcohol. Countless times, she fought against my grandfather and his addiction to alcohol.
After 15 years and five children, my grandfather gave up fighting against alcohol, and he won; he

Earned Income Tax Risk Analysis
The Earned Income Tax Credit was emphasized in Sykes article that would explore social
acceptance and measure how much money income from the government program effects the
economy. The government wants to get people right above the poverty line, so by using the EITC
program they have helped families feel a sense of financial relief and equal social class. Along with
the benefit of paying for the bills, EITC also helps parents who want to provide their children with
their wants and not only focus on what their child needs at the moment. This is liberating for parents
who can feel more at ease knowing that their child is receiving everything they could possibly ask

I think people like to justify their actions and how they spend money even though it may be wrong.
It's great that they can make their own dreams come true, but if only 17 percent of people are

spending it on flashy treats. Before this article I already thought that the people in these programs
were given a lot of money, but after reading this article I am beginning to think they're given too
much money and it might not be spent as wisely as I previously thought. I see people in hard
working class families that wouldn't spend their income on such things. I see people using FAFSA
and other government programs that get full rides to school and ended up flunking a class or two.
My point is that maybe some people need the money more than others because they aren't regulating
how the money is spent. Some of the recipients are telling the truth and are working hard, but as
they say in the article some people who say these things set aside money for fun because they want

Definition Essay: What Makes A Good Parent?
What makes a good parent? Technically, the dictionary definition states "good parenting happens
when a person creates for a child a stable, nurturing home environment, is a positive role model, and
plays a positive and active part in a child's life" (wps.k12.va.us). On the contrary, many people
would simply say a great parent is someone who puts a roof over their children's head and a plate of
food on the table, but in reality, it's so much more than that. A good parent is someone who has an
open and trusting relationship with their children, loves and supports them unconditionally, and
teaches them important lifelong morals that will shape them into a good person in the future.
At a young age, children need to be taught by their parent(s) what's right and wrong. By teaching
kids early on about proper manners and discipline, it will set them up for a more successful future,
and avoid having to learn it later on, when it especially matters. Raising kind, thoughtful, and well ...

When parents support their child's ideas, they are able to pursue their goals and ideas. Whether it's
learning how to ride a bike or winning valedictorian at graduation, it is so important to be supportive
with everything they do. Having someone in a child's life who supports them not only gives them
confidence, but it also makes them want to do praiseworthy acts again. They are being applauded for
doing positive acts, and know that they are making someone else proud.
Being a good parent involves lots of hard work and effort, but it has lifelong effects. In order to be a

Why Is Atticus Finch A Good Parent
Ever heard of the one and only Atticus Finch? The way he raises and teaches his children makes him
the best parent in town! Atticus is a character in To Kill a Mockingbird, a novel that took place in
Maycomb, Alabama during racism and economic problems. In the story, Atticus is a lawyer that was
defending an African–American man who was accused of raping a white woman. He had two
children which took care of by himself, with the help of a female maid in their household. Atticus
had to raise the two children without a wife, and also went to work daily to deal with important

Being a role model means showing the right thing to do, and also to set an example for others. An
example that shows Atticus being a good role model is when he accepts the challenge of defending
Tom Robinson. By defending Tom, he is showing his children that they should always do the right
thing while trying their hardest to complete the goal. Atticus once said, "Simply because we were
licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not try to win." (Lee 76). What Atticus
is trying to say to his children is that they should always try their best on a particular task, no matter
what. This proves that he is a good role model because he is showing that by trying his hardest, he
came very close to winning the trial, despite the racial views in the town. Another example that
shows Atticus as being a good role model is when he protected Tom Robinson at the jailhouse

his children not to be violent towards others. The way Atticus demonstrates how to live without any
major issues proves him to be appealing to his

How Does Harper Lee Show Atticus To Be a Good Parent? Essay
How Does Harper Lee Show Atticus To Be a Good Parent? To kill a mockingbird is a novel written
by Harper Lee, set in the 1930' in "Maycomb County," Alabama. The story focuses around Atticus
Finch, single parent to Jem and Scout Finch. Jem and Scout are brought up alongside racism.
However they seem, for the most part to escape such discriminatory views, due to the parenting of
Atticus. The children are affected at first by children at school, as most children are influenced by
their peers, however the trial of Tom Robinson, was key to bringing up the children with non racist
views. As the story goes on, we see that Atticus' views are very centered around ethics. He says "you

We see in the book, he defends a black man, Tom Robinson. Now, at first this has no direct impact
towards his children, but as aforementioned; children's fragile minds can be easily indoctrinated.
Simply seeing Atticus being a good member of the community, will affect the views of Jem and
Scout from the outset. Atticus, it seems. Lives life for himself, I don't mean this in a selfish way
however. He is aware of the mutterings going round about him, this doesn't seem to affect him, his
bravery shows when he is guarding Tom Robinson un–armed, he defends this by saying "Carrying a
gun is just asking to be shot" this, is a metaphor for a whole book, Atticus, once "the best shot in
Maycombe county" now does not wish to be associated with guns, and by doing this, shows that
people can change. The people who condemn Tom Robinson, the racism within the people of
Maycombe County, all this can be changed around. Atticus stands out from the norm of parenting in
the county, by allowing Jem and Scount some freedom. Atticus sees no reason for Scout to dress
"like a young lady," he treats his children with respect, and in turn receives respect; this again does
not correlate with the norm in 1930's Alabama. Nearer the end of the book, we see how Atticus'
ethical beliefs have rubbed off on his offspring. During the court case when Jem, Scout and Dill are

Charles Murray And Robert B. Murray
Being two of the most respected and qualified academicians on public policy, Charles Murray, and
Robert B. Reich have never been short of making controversial and contradicting statements which
arguably serves only their interest of getting an audience. Public policy as it is has been subjected to
lots of changes throughout the history leading to different reactions and opinions from different
individuals. "What it means to be a Libertarian–A Personal Interpretation" written by Charles
Murray, explicitly describes how the society should view the government by claiming it can help in
achieving overall happiness and allowing members of the society to have a right to individual
freedom when coping with the changes brought by public policy. On the other hand, Robert B.
Reich's "Aftershock the next Economy and America's Future" talks about overcoming our problems
by keeping a tier of classes. This paper discusses the contradicting views of these two writers. There
are several essential differences in Reich's and Murray's points of view. According to Reich,
problems in our societies are caused by poor structures. He argues that increasing of wealth in the
society works against the middle class since it forces them to be poor. He talks of keeping a tier of
classes which includes the middle and rich class of which if not the middle class will not be able to
sustain the economy. Reich describes the great depression of 1929 and explains that the major cause
was due to the disparity

The Glass Castle Rex Walls A Good Parent
A "good parent" is financially stable and able to support their children. They should provide
necessities and be there for their kids. They should also be a role–model for their kids and set a good
example. In the novel, The Glass Castle, Rex Walls, the father, was a terrible parent because he was
an alcoholic, he was a criminal, and he was selfish. Rex was alcoholic and was rarely sober.
Jeanette, his daughter, had to go to bars and search for him because he would be gone for days at a
time. "Four days later, when dad still hadn't come home, Mom sent me to go find him. 'Why do I
always have to get dad?' I asked" (Walls 181). A good parent is there for their children and is

Amy Mccready: Should Parents Get Good Grades?
Sarah had been studying for a week for the upcoming history test. She took notes in class, used
online programs to practice, and even made note cards to review. When she received her test back
her test she had earned an A! Her hard work had paid off. Should parents pay their students for
getting good grades? Some parents think this wouldn't be the best idea. However, others believe
opposingly. Paying students for academic achievements and high scores can ruin intrinsic
motivation. It can also motivate them to score higher. Perhaps money may not be a key concept
when considering this thought. Evidently, imbursing learners for receiving high grades isn't
necessary, as a result of kids losing their intrinsic motivation, saving profits that would have been
spent on arcades or candy, and children won't expect that payment throughout their lives. Parents
have no need to compensate their offspring for academic achievements. ... Show more content on

When they tell kids that they'll pay for grades, kids start thinking outside the box (aka extrinsic
motivation) and "use" their parents in a way, to get what they want. Amy McCready, a writer for The

motivation or school success. In fact, it can't even buy good grades for very long. Though you may
see initial improvements, numerous studies have shown that over time, rewards dampen the
excitement about the task." It is important in a young person's life to have intrinsic motivation, and
not use extrinsic from the start. In the future, it could mess up small things that matter. As is stated,

This article is generally informing Singaporeans the importance and the need to declare and pay the
taxes of their goods or souvenirs purchased overseas when they return home from their holidays.
The items are subjected to a 7 percent Goods and Services (GST) tax regardless whether the goods
purchased are for their own use or not. However, the government has implemented a form of GST
relief for Singaporeans to allow them to bring a certain combined total value of goods purchased to
be brought back home without having to pay tax. The GST relief is granted to Singaporeans for

This is represented in section 24 of the GST Act; GST (imports relief) Order. However from 1 April
2012 onwards following the 2012 Budget Statement, the GST relief for taxable purchases from
overseas have been increased to double the amount which is $600 (if 48 hours or more spent
overseas) and that the age of travellers no longer affects the grant of the relief. The relief excludes
liquor, tobacco products and petroleum purchases.
The basis of this relief is to reduce the inconvenience of travellers who are only bringing back home
small amount of purchases for personal use such as souvenirs. In addition, over the months and
years, it has been observed that the cost of expenditures (most probably due to inflation) have been
increasing steadily thus the relief has been revised upwards to match the expenditure globally. At the
same time, the increase in relief will help to reduce the queue and hassle due to declaration,
checking of receipts as well as payment of taxable goods at the customs in the airport. This is due to
the fact that most travellers will return back home with a substantial amount of purchases. This will

Freakonomics : The Role Of Being A Good Parents
Nobody has all of the answers when it comes to being a good parent. The role of being a good
parent is to prepare their children for the future and help them develop into people that are socially
active, responsible, educated, and independent. In the chapter from Freakonomics, What Makes a
Perfect Parent, Levitt and Dubner argue that when it comes to being a good parent, who your parents
are, will determine how your child will mentally grow up, and shape how he or she will be in the
future. In the case of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS) data, the authors will
demonstrate the differences in when comes to the way a child is brought up, and the differences
among race.
A good parent can come from all walks of life. Being a perfect parent is almost impossible to
analyze due to the numerous factors. The authors demonstrate this argument through evidence and
research provided by the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS). In the late 1990s, the U.S.
Department of Education undertook a monumental project to measure the academic progress. The
ECLS measured the students' academic performance and gathered survey information about the
child's race, gender, family structure, socioeconomic status, and the level of the parent's education.
The authors believe that the parents IQ plays a significant role, such as "[a] child whose parents are
highly educated typically does well in school; not much surprise there. A family with a lot of
schooling tends to value schooling.

The Reasons for Needing Good Parents Essay example
The Reasons for Needing Good Parents
Well everyone needs a good parent, whether it is a biological parent or an adoptive parent.
A parent is there to love and care for a child, to help them with their physical, mental and emotional
needs, and to bring up and raise responsible citizens who are confident, polite, successful, loving
and caring people.
Parents are role models, people the children look up to and respect, so they have to think about what
they are doing. Children need a lot of attention and are very demanding but a good parent sticks by
their child through thick and thin because they know that they are children and need to have needs
met to become mature adults.

Clothing is used for warmth; therefore we must have good quality clothing. What we wear is also
used to boost our self–confidence and save us from embarrassment of naked flesh. This brings us
onto health. The parent must take children to doctors and Dentists, needed to take care of our health.
And last but not least on the physical side of matters. The parent protects us from harm, fire, knives,
dangerous people or substances. We all need a guide on what is harmful and what is not. Having a
child is twenty–four hour a day job.
Another need is the mental requirement of a child. This consists of providing means of education,
like school, but before the child goes to school it must be able to talk and be able to write a few
words or letters. School develops their skills until the child can read, write and talk fluently but it all
begins with the parents. Manners are taught for politeness and the basic rights and wrongs are
taught, although as the child develops they will make up their own mind as to what is right and
wrong. The mental need is a knowledge need which parents can help with by talking to children
about the world, encouraging homework and other interests, and ultimately in helping with career
choices.
And finally, there is the emotional need. Everybody needs to feel loved, not just children but adults
as well. But to love a child is to show them you value them, to show

The Importance Of Good Parent Child Relations
Good– parent child relations are very important. There are several factors that support good– parent
child relations, such as: being involved with the school, support from teachers and schools, family
structure, social influences and more. According to Bigner and Gerhardt, "protective factors act as
buffers; they stand between the youth or the family and adversity." (p.337). Protective factors are
needed to lessen present or future problems. There are three steps known to help with this problem,
Reduce, Interrupt, and Prevent. Parents should be involved with their child and school relations. As
a parent, you should be able to know if something is going on with your child at school. Children
love to have support from their parents in the school environment. Supporting your child is the
number one key in helping them succeed. From my own personal experience, I have realized
supporting my children at school is very important to them. When I attend their school, or
participate in something such as chaperoning a trip, my children feel like I am the best parent of
anyone in the class. It lights up their day. I try to attend all programs and do whatever the school
needs me to do to support my children. I would like to be more active, but right now I cannot. Their
dad also supports them a lot as well. Last school year, the teacher told their dad, "he was the most
supportive dad of all the children." Schools and teachers should be just as supportive as parents.

Good Or Bad? ( Parent Vs O ' Leary Debate
GMFs: Good Or Bad? (Parent vs O'Leary Debate)
Genetically modified foods, known as GMFs, are an extremely controversial subject. By definition,
GMO's are, "organisms whose genome has been altered by the techniques of genetic engineering so
that its DNA contains one or more genes not normally found there." Scientists genetically engineer
these foods to, for example, contain an additional vitamin or weather withstanding qualities.
Relatively recently, Kevin O'Leary, who was in favor of GMFs, and Rachel Parent, who was against
them, had a televised debate on O'Leary's talk show. While both sides proved valid points, O'Leary's
argument seemed the most convincing, with multiple data points and references. While genetically
modified foods have many obvious benefits and drawbacks, the good seem to outweigh the bad on a
global scale. GMFs can increase nutrition in third world countries, stop the world wide issue of
waste, and even slow global warming and deforestation in our environment. A benefit to genetically
modified foods are their health benefits. GMFs make it increasingly easier to get the needed
nutrition to people in poverty and have saved a countless amount of lived because of it. A leading
cause of death among these people is a lack of provitamin A, which is converted into vitamin A.
Vitamin A is important in the development of sight and other internal organs, such as the heart and
kidney. In the world, 250 million preschoolers suffer from VAD, the disease caused by

Customer Service at Alton Towers
Customer Service at Alton Towers
I am going to be writing about the customer service in Alton Towers, and factors that would affect
the customer service. I will begin with writing about factors that would affect customer service:
a) Seeing as how Alton Towers is an amusement park, factors that could effect could affect customer
service can range from factors such as are there many places for visitors to purchase food for when
they are hungry, are they enough lavatories around the park, and, most importantly, are the rides in
the park easily accessible. Other things such as how queues are managed and navigation around the
park may also affect customer service.

The challenges that they would face would be:
Keep it updated
Keep the website looking attractive and change it regularly to keep the customers interested
Do new promotions to attract customers
Too many people might visit the website which could cause it to freeze
Keep peoples personal details secured
Answer peoples requires
f) What Alton Towers do to maintain its customer standards is quite varied. Like the types of
customers I mentioned above, they do try and cater to the needs that I listed. They have electronic
signs around the park which informs people of the predicted amount of time you would be in the
queue for a ride, which is very good for people who do not want to wait a long time for a ride. They
have maps all around the park, with the "You Are Here" marker to allow for easy navigation, and the
maps are plentiful. They are plenty of activities which appeal to young children and thrill seekers,
ranging from staged shows and small rides for younger children to large roller coasters and in park
pubs for older customers. They have plenty of lavatories in the amusement park, with bathrooms for
disabled customers and changing areas for parents with young children. They are many places for
people to eat at in Alton Towers, with plenty of good and a large

What Makes A Good Parent, By Jeannette Walls
Not all people raise children the same way. Each parent has his or her own method of preparing a
child for the world. In the article "What Makes a Good Parent," author Robert Epstein lays out ten
criteria for "good" parents. In The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, Walls's parents display
techniques that initially seem detrimental to her life. However, throughout the memoir, Walls's
mother and father demonstrate Epstein's good parenting qualities by promoting self–sufficiency and
providing educational opportunities in unique ways. One key parenting skill that shows that Walls's
mother and father are effective parents is the ability to guide a child to live independently. An
important competency listed by Epstein is that parents should

What Makes a Good Parent
To my mind, the right answer to the question "What makes a good parent" is not easily obtainable.
You should spend a lot of time in contemplation before reaching to it. And still there is no guarantee
that finally you will get it.
Since many people have different opinions on raising a child there may be thousands absolutely
different answers to one and the same question, a rather tricky one, I would say.
To tell you the truth, after I asked myself the same question, several things went through my mind.
What kind of parent will I be? How will I raise a child? Can I be a good parent? What turns ordinary
people into good parents? Panic overtook me and I felt an overwhelming desire to rush to the local
bookstore to purchase loads of parenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this is where common sense takes over. There will be things about the way we were raised
that we liked and disliked. The areas that we did not like about the way we were raised can be turned
around when we raise our own children. This is how, I think, we can develop into a good parent.
Right now I would like to give some tips on how to become a good, loving parent. To tell you the
truth, I am a little bit afraid to sound superficial, as I am not a parent yet. But, from another side, I
had enough experience of being a child. So, now when I am in my early twenties I can evaluate the
way I was brought up by my parents. It is true, the older we are – the more we can understand our
parents. Well, let's pass on to the tips:
Recognize your child for the individual that they are. No two children are alike, and even though
they may resemble you, they are not you. You may have a child that loves sports and one that can't
stand to be outdoors. We should consider the individuality of each child as a blessing and pursue
ways to expand on that.
Discipline your child. That is not to say that you have to spank your child or beat them unmercifully.
Choose the method that works best for your child. You are the adult in your relationship and should
be the master manipulator.
Be involved in the schooling. Ask questions regarding how your child

Are Helicopter Parents Good Parents?
When reading the shadow, the first thought that came to my mind was that this poem seemed
pointless and held little or no meaning to it, but when I reexamined the shadow, being more mindful
to the details this time, I finally recognized the genius of this piece and my opinion of the shadow
drastically changed.but undoubtedly, what made this poem change my perspective to such an extent,
was it's ability to portray our human nature and display them so vividly and unlike any other, I was
given a new outlook on our emotions, actions, and desire's as something we have to keep under
control, but sometimes we have to let our suppressed emotions manifest us in order to keep things
balanced and to let loose some steam and be yourself.
Based on my understanding of the boy and his shadow, I came to the conclusion that the shadow is

shoulder, often being irrational and impulsive, it tries to convince you to take the easy road, blurring
the truth, and in the process, flipping your priorities on its head for pleasure often delaying progress
and losing trust in yourself (the ID). So how can the boy's shadow be the ego? And the boy the ID?
Well after i finished analyzing the poem, I noticed that the shadow always attempts to act
impulsively, acting before thinking. Take for example this line from the poem "and i see him jump
before me, when i jump into my bed". The boy claimed that his

Parenting is a job all adults will go through every single day. Parenting is a job that causes a lot of

freedom, and very open–minded. Despite all that, all parents have the same goal and that is to make
their children become independent, a good person, polite, helpful, and can become a successful
person. In the book on how to kill a mockingbird, Atticus is a good parent who has a lot of respect

The second reason why Atticus is a good parent is that he gives his children an enough amount of

The Growth Of The Manufacturing And Agriculture Sectors
Increased productivity in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors has created a higher level of
disposable income in the population, which has led to increased purchases of services. As income
rises, the demand for goods tends to rise less rapidly than the demand for services; hence, the
importance of services in the economy will rise. The result has been an evolution of the economy
from one geared primarily to manufactured goods to an economy engaged in the creation of
services. Thus the growth of services has been significant. Changes in the pattern of employment
will have implications upon where and how people live, upon educational requirements, and
consequently upon the kinds of organizations that will be important to society. Industrialization
created the need for semiskilled worker who could be trained in a few weeks to perform the routine
tasks attending machines. The service economy has caused a shift to white collar occupations in
health, education, and government. For the first time in the history of industrial society, the number
of white–collar workers (professionals; managers; officials; proprietors, clerical kindred, and sales
workers) exceeded the number of blue–collar workers (craftsmen and foremen; operatives; and
laborers) and the gap is widening. The most interesting growth has been in the managerial and
professional–technical fields. The coordination of machines and people for the production of goods
was central to the industrial society.

something that one has and the other is missing out on. The only difference between these two is the
level of parent involvement. Now this just happens to be the case students all around the United

Characteristics Of A Good Parent
What makes a good parent? People have always tried to find out the answer to this question, because
they think what makes a good parent makes a good family. As soon as children starts to feel that
their parents care too much about them, they try to get back at them and do just what their parents
don't want them to do. On the other hand, kids who face lack of freedom may end up turning into
rebels and trouble makers.
I believe that another thing that makes a good parent is trust. Being consistent with your child is so
important because that's how trust is formed and kept. Being consistent is not changing the rules.
Being consistent is not promising rewards that kids will never see. Being consistent is not
threatening punishment without carrying it through. Children put trust in their parents from the very
beginning and it must not be betrayed because once it is, once children find out they have been lied
to, you will have to literally as a parent have to go above and beyond to win it back. Another thing is
communication. Being able to communicate with your child will build confidence. Parents should
not be afraid to talk to their children. They should not jump to conclusions when they are curious
about something. A parent's relationship with his or her child will be reflected in the child's actions
including child behavior problems, Natale explains. "If you don't have a good relationship with your
child, they're not going to listen to you. Think how you relate to other

What Are The Responsibilities Of A Good Parents

 • 1. What Are The Responsibilities Of A Good Parents What are three responsibilities of a good parent? Being a parent could be one of the most difficult jobs a person would ever have to undertake as a profession. Being a parent is a full–time job that never ends despite the fact that children mature. Anyone can become a parent once they've conceived or adopt a child but being a good parent comes with a lot of ups and downs. A good parent can be expressed as someone who demonstrates to his or her child the difference between what's right and what's wrong. It is very significant for us to teach our children from an early age what is right. Children should be trained to respect their elders, leader, parents and the laws of the country in which they live. A parent never spoils his or her child as ... Good parents show love and affections to his or her child. Children need to feel loved by their parents; it creates a sense of safety, comfort and trust between the child and his or her parent. A good parent is a role model to his or her child; parents should portray all the good characteristics of a good human being. Being a positive role model for proper behavior is more effective than specific disciplinary measures. Children learn through observation and often mimic the behavior of their parents. A proper parent would make sure they teach his or her child moral values and kindness such as compassion, honesty, tolerance, patience and unconditional love. • 3. Hi-Power Case Study Background Hi–Power is a men's garment wholesale company owned by my parents. The company was found in 1996 and previously involves the manufacturing department and the wholesales department. The older brother of my father operated the manufacturing department, and my father managed the wholesale department. My uncle designed, produced, and shipped clothes in Fujian, while my father received orders in Guangzhou. Back in that period, when there are few companies consisted of both manufacturing and wholesales and these two departments are so closely connected, the revenue and profit are considerable. After several years when China joint the WTO, many competitors entered into the men's garment market and quickly seize a big portion of the market share. My uncle decided to close the manufacturing factory, while my father insisted in running the wholesale department in Guangzhou. Since he did not have the original purchase channels, he had to find other partners who could provide clothes for him. He then sells those products to foreign retailers. Reminding the distribution channel, Hi–Power is a wholesaler in the first channel, which is the longest one that includes all producer, wholesaler, retailer, and consumer. Internal Environment In addition to factors listed above that will affect the men's garment industry, some elements inside of the industry will affect Hi–Power as well. These factors are threat of new entrants, power of suppliers, power of buyers, product ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 5. Can Men Be Good Single Parents? Essay Can Men Be Good Single Parents? Arvind Naik (name changed) lost his wife when their daughter was barely a few months old. "It was overwhelming, the first few days. Then one day she looked at me and smiled for no reason. I was totally crushed. It has been seven years now and I cannot tell you how blessed I feel. My sister and I were raised by my mother. Our father was hardly ever around when we were kids. Now that I am a single parent, I realize how tough it must have been for her and how much she loved us. The only reason I wake up at 5 am every day is because I love my daughter more than I love my sleep," he laughs, "I just wish my mom could have seen us and I could thank her for everything." When it comes to children, there is a general acceptance that men are not as hands on as women. While there are exceptions, a 2015 report, 'State of the World 's Fathers '(#) says that even today women still spend between 2–10 times longer then men in unpaid care giving, including on their children. And there is no country where males share unpaid domestic and care work equally with females. Fathers do of course matter and it is beyond a doubt that a father 's involvement, positive or negative, or the lack of it, has a lifelong impact on the child. But what happens in situations when the father is the sole care giver? And how does it affect the children, and the father themselves? The situation obviously alters depending on the age of the child and the reason for the singleness. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What makes a good parent according to Dr. Tanya Byron? According to Dr. Tanya Bryon she states that being a good parent is one that doesn't worry a lot about being a good one. She said that parents who follow a book or a step–by–step process tend to have problems. Parenting should be done by the heart not from someone or something else. What are some of the common problems that children might have? Sleeping, Toilet problems, eating problems, and sometimes catching temper tantrums. Do you think the fathers enjoy fatherhood more today than in the past? Why or why not? Yes I believe the fathers enjoy fatherhood more today than in the past because parenting at an early age is kind of tougher and as a young person you would want to get a job or start a career first, whereas the men now are in their 30's which gave them a little break because their maturity level increased rather than when they were young and they have good paying careers to help financially become a parent. What are some of the difficulties that new fathers (and mothers) face? Some of the difficulties that new fathers and mothers face is sleep deprivation. Being in the child's life alone is hard, everyone is different in many ways so you have to put in hard work and dedication to meet the criteria of the baby. Your third lab link can be found at Adora Svitak: What Adults Can Learn From Kids. A written transcript is also available for this lab. What are some of the benefits of being "childish"? Some of the benefits of being of being childish can include making irrational demands, and being irresponsible.

 • 10. What Does A Good Parent Versus A Bad Parent? Analyze the problem scenario that you have chosen, and organize your analysis into sections that correlate to each step in the selected problem solving strategy. The scenario is a child has come home with a school project and he or she is excited and has begun to work on the assignment by starting research and collecting materials. The goal is to encourage the child to develop responsibility for his/her own learning. In the scenario it was also noticed that another parent in the store who had bought $30 worth of materials, taken the day off and was putting the project together for their child. In Einstein's article "Einstein's Secret to Amazing Problem Solving" he outlines ten steps to help clearly define the problem and then being able to reach a logical solution. After analyzing, the problem and being able to rephrase the problem addressed the biggest concern, which is "What does a good parent versus a bad parent look like in this situation? This led to the next step of "exposing and challenging assumptions" The assumption the parent was better because they did all the work led to understanding it is possible they are not the better parent because the child learns nothing about responsibility. It is possible the child will also have the feeling the parent has no faith in their abilities to complete the project. Second assumption was because the parent was doing all the work they were doing a better job of supporting their child. By exposing and challenging these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 12. Good or Bad Customer Service Essay A large part of being a good service provider is ensuring customer convenience. Study findings show that strong leadership systems focus on customers, motivate employees, and implement their customer service vision. They also focus great attention on gathering the information needed to track customer satisfaction, and employees overall performance. Customer service should be designed and delivered seamlessly from the customer's point of view. Customer– driven operations lead to success. Decentralized, uncoordinated customer service provision makes for a most frustrating experience for customers. I took my family to our local McDonalds for lunch a week ago (after 1 pm) and waited in line for over 25 minutes with only 4 other customers in line before us. Of the two cash registers originally open, one lady (unable to read name covered by apron) left without informing the people in line directly in front of her that she was closing. The assistant manager (I assume since he had no name tag but was wearing a striped shirt (everyone else was wearing green shirts)) was called to the front 4 times to correct erroneous orders, and finally opened another register. Unfortunately, he waited on us. We ordered salad shakers that ended up being (at best) warm. He needed to return to the register for each item, and even then had the order messed up. He literally threw my children's orders of French fries on the tray as well as their burgers. While we were waiting, I watched one rather slovenly worker (with a large grease stain and cheese on his BACK) throw a "to–go" bag and complain to the people in the back about being busy. There appeared to be more than enough people working, but planning and management were severely lacking. I recently visited another McDonalds in my area with my kids and my little cousin, then I have another disappointment. I ordered the kid meal for him; it came with a toy and a drink with the meal. I asked for milk, which to me is more nutritious than soda. Soda does have gobs of sugar in them, which is not healthy for any human young or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mrs. Alexandra, from my understanding, a good parent is one who creates a safe nurturing environment for a child to grow up in, displays characteristics of a positive role model, and is an active part of a child's life. (Atticus, look at Scout and Jem affectionately ) Good parents provide moral guidance, sets limitations, and implements consequences for a child's behavior. • 16. Good Or Bad Against Same Sex Parents Same–Sex Parents Good or Bad? Gay parents has been a heavily talked about topic that has been talked about in a classroom to Congress and everything in between. People have made fun of or looked down on same– sex parents while others think that this would not be harmful and a great thing to have. So, I ask you "do you think gay parents should be allowed to be parents or not?" This question has been asked repeatedly, yet nobody knows the answer. In the article "Gay Parenting is Harmful" by George Dent has many excellent points on why gay parenting is harmful. One claim that George makes is that it could confuse the child and his sexual orientation because when the kid sees same sex parents according to Diana Baumrind a researcher stated that the kids are more to have sexualization at a younger age. Another point that George makes is that homosexual parents are not as strong as heterosexual parents are because George believes that a man in woman have a stronger relationship because it has the father figure to show the child how much he cares about his wife, so the child can see how much a man and women can love and care for each other. George goes on saying that "homosexuals are less inclined than heterosexuals to marry, and gays who do marry have a high divorce rate." George follows this up with the clam that gay parents more males then females marry at a later age then heterosexual couples because they are not into a committed relationship that "normal couples" are and ... • 18. Parents Should Be A Good Parent Through the entire interview process, four of the eleven participants, two males, one was in the younger age group and the other was in the older age group, and two females, again with one from each group, explicitly said what my research has explained: children raised by gay parents learn to become more open towards others than children raised by straight parents. All of the participants gave answers that aligned with my research on the kind of parent a child needs and what a healthy household consists of. Each contributor believed that love and support, as well as a handful of other qualities leads to a well–developed child. The handful of qualities mentioned by informants were: stable, mature, and responsible. Informants believe a parent should be someone who is capable of caring for someone else. No one mentioned a single thing about the sexual orientation required to be a good parent; society does not take sexual orientation into consideration when describing who could be a good parent. To contrast what I found in researching to what I found informants had to say, two interviewees depicted gay parenting as "not the norm", or "not normal in today's society", both from the younger age group, one female and one male. Moreover, men tended to suppose that a child having gay parents will be "predisposed" to "gay tendencies" and will therefore become confused with their sexual orientation or may lean towards more "gay tendencies". Of all the men who thought this, two of them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 20. Why Is Atticus Finch A Good Parent I believe that Atticus Finch is a good parent. A good parent consists of many things, such as honesty, trust, and protection of children. A couple reasons why Atticus Finch is a good parent are that he is very honest with his children, he always tries to protect his children, and last but not least Atticus always lets his children learn from real life experiences, and does not just tell them stories. To begin, Atticus tries to protect Jem by accepting the fact that Bob Ewell fell on his knife, and that Jem did not kill him. The author cites evidence that illustrates Atticus's acceptance on page 370, "'Scout,' he said, 'Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. Can you possibly understand?'" Basically, Atticus is asking Scout if she can understand that Mr. Ewell fell on his knife, and that Jem did not kill him. This evidence highlights that Atticus has accepted this, and he wants Scout to as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, on page 370, the text states "'Scout,' he said, 'Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. Can you possibly understand?'" Basically, Atticus is trying to explain to Scout that Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. From this, I can infer that this evidence supports my claim, because it shows how Atticus tries to be honest with his children, and wants to protect them with the truth. As an illustration, in the text on page 291 the book reads, "'I wish Bob Ewell wouldn't chew tobacco,' was all he said about it." In the literal sense, Atticus does not want to cause problems, so he says simple phrases to protect Jem and Scout, as well as to protect their innocence. From this I can infer that this evidence supports my reason, because it shows how Atticus is simple with his children. These pieces of evidence clearly suggest how Atticus uses honesty and simplicity to protect his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 22. A Good Enough Parent With An Inadequate Parent Essay This essay will compare and contrast a good enough parent with an inadequate parent in terms of their relationship with their child. A good enough parent is a term developed by Psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott. Winnicott (1962) believed that a child's independence into adulthood is developed by their ability to adapt to the external environment. The child's internal world must be nurtured, and the child's external world must be supportive and loving. Just as an infant requires a good enough parent, the infant also requires a 'good–enough' environment (Derobertis, 2010). According to Winnicott, key aspects of a good enough environment are holding, handling, and object–presenting. These aspects allows the infant to develop a True Self. If these key aspects are not provided, a False Self will develop instead. The False Self arises from a 'not good enough' environment, or inadequate parenting. Inadequate parenting can be a result of family projection process, delegation, or trauma. These terms will be explained later. Unfortunately, inadequate parenting can lead to insecure parent–infant attachments. John Bowlby's (1969) attachment theory explains how the intergenerational transmission of relationship patterns across generations impacts a child's ability to develop into a healthy adult. Bowlby believed that the parent's mental representation of attachment influences the outcome of the infant–parent relationship. (Fonagy, Steele & Steele, 1991). Bowlby believed infants ... • 28. Definition Essay: What Does Good Parents Mean? What does being a good parent mean? Is a parent expected to have faults, and allowing those faults to continue and grow in their children? Must a good parent meet the expectations that society has created? One may argue that a good parent can be defined as one who creates a stable environment for his or her child. To be classified as a good parent, one must be willing to make sacrifices that would allow his or her child to prosper. The definition of sacrifice is "the surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the sake of something that is considered as having a higher or more pressing claim" (Dictionary.com). Often times, a parent must sacrifice something treasured to them for the well being of their kids. " Do you think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The image clearly uses sarcasm by labeling this as "great parenting". On the surface, the image is stating that the better approach to the situation in the vehicle is reacting in a calm manner. When viewing this image a little more intensely, one can conclude that the image is truly stating that when in a situation involved with children, one must approach things calmly and collectively, in order to not compromise the safety of anyone involved. • 34. Parents Must Make A Good Parent Parents serve no purpose. Parents provide no help. Parents give no benefits to children. Children could easily live without parents. Everyone has parents; it's inevitable. Whether or not children believe that their parents behave in a way to benefit them is a decision they choose to make. These statements differ from reality, parents truly represent some of the greatest people in our world; they do serve a purpose and they impact their children immensely. For some children, they may see the discipline from their parents as their parents failing at their jobs. In actuality, parents need to discipline to structure their children into mature adults. They need to show love and forgiveness even though sometimes it may seem impossible. Children will become the future and parents hold responsibility for that. Therefore, parents must mold them into adults that our future needs. A good parent should model three essential qualities: forgiveness, discipline, and love. The first essential quality includes a good parent modeling forgiveness. For example, my grandmother spent the majority of her relationship with her husband, my grandfather, battling against alcohol. Countless times, she fought against my grandfather and his addiction to alcohol. After 15 years and five children, my grandfather gave up fighting against alcohol, and he won; he became sober. Technically, the dictionary definition states "good parenting happens when a person creates for a child a stable, nurturing home environment, is a positive role model, and plays a positive and active part in a child's life" (wps.k12.va.us). On the contrary, many people would simply say a great parent is someone who puts a roof over their children's head and a plate of food on the table, but in reality, it's so much more than that. A good parent is someone who has an open and trusting relationship with their children, loves and supports them unconditionally, and teaches them important lifelong morals that will shape them into a good person in the future. At a young age, children need to be taught by their parent(s) what's right and wrong. An example that shows Atticus being a good role model is when he accepts the challenge of defending Tom Robinson. By defending Tom, he is showing his children that they should always do the right thing while trying their hardest to complete the goal. Atticus once said, "Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not try to win." (Lee 76). What Atticus is trying to say to his children is that they should always try their best on a particular task, no matter what. This proves that he is a good role model because he is showing that by trying his hardest, he came very close to winning the trial, despite the racial views in the town. Another example that shows Atticus as being a good role model is when he protected Tom Robinson at the jailhouse during the night without using force. When Scout kicks the man who grabbed Jem, Atticus says, "That'll do, Scout. Don't kick folks." (Lee 153). What Atticus is trying to say is that there is always a way to fix something without violence. Public policy as it is has been subjected to lots of changes throughout the history leading to different reactions and opinions from different individuals. "What it means to be a Libertarian–A Personal Interpretation" written by Charles Murray, explicitly describes how the society should view the government by claiming it can help in achieving overall happiness and allowing members of the society to have a right to individual freedom when coping with the changes brought by public policy. This paper discusses the contradicting views of these two writers. There are several essential differences in Reich's and Murray's points of view. According to Reich, problems in our societies are caused by poor structures. He argues that increasing of wealth in the society works against the middle class since it forces them to be poor. The role of being a good parent is to prepare their children for the future and help them develop into people that are socially active, responsible, educated, and independent. In the chapter from Freakonomics, What Makes a Perfect Parent, Levitt and Dubner argue that when it comes to being a good parent, who your parents are, will determine how your child will mentally grow up, and shape how he or she will be in the future. In the case of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS) data, the authors will demonstrate the differences in when comes to the way a child is brought up, and the differences among race. A good parent can come from all walks of life. Being a perfect parent is almost impossible to analyze due to the numerous factors. The authors demonstrate this argument through evidence and research provided by the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS). In the late 1990s, the U.S. Department of Education undertook a monumental project to measure the academic progress. The ECLS measured the students' academic performance and gathered survey information about the child's race, gender, family structure, socioeconomic status, and the level of the parent's education. The authors believe that the parents IQ plays a significant role, such as "[a] child whose parents are highly educated typically does well in school; not much surprise there. There are several factors that support good– parent child relations, such as: being involved with the school, support from teachers and schools, family structure, social influences and more. According to Bigner and Gerhardt, "protective factors act as buffers; they stand between the youth or the family and adversity." (p.337). Protective factors are needed to lessen present or future problems. There are three steps known to help with this problem, Reduce, Interrupt, and Prevent. Relatively recently, Kevin O'Leary, who was in favor of GMFs, and Rachel Parent, who was against them, had a televised debate on O'Leary's talk show. While both sides proved valid points, O'Leary's argument seemed the most convincing, with multiple data points and references. • 66. What Makes a Good Parent To my mind, the right answer to the question "What makes a good parent" is not easily obtainable. You should spend a lot of time in contemplation before reaching to it. And still there is no guarantee that finally you will get it. Since many people have different opinions on raising a child there may be thousands absolutely different answers to one and the same question, a rather tricky one, I would say. To tell you the truth, after I asked myself the same question, several things went through my mind. What kind of parent will I be? How will I raise a child? Can I be a good parent? What turns ordinary people into good parents? Panic overtook me and I felt an overwhelming desire to rush to the local bookstore to purchase loads of parenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this is where common sense takes over. There will be things about the way we were raised that we liked and disliked. The areas that we did not like about the way we were raised can be turned around when we raise our own children. This is how, I think, we can develop into a good parent. Right now I would like to give some tips on how to become a good, loving parent. To tell you the truth, I am a little bit afraid to sound superficial, as I am not a parent yet. But, from another side, I had enough experience of being a child. So, now when I am in my early twenties I can evaluate the way I was brought up by my parents. It is true, the older we are – the more we can understand our parents. Well, let's pass on to the tips: Recognize your child for the individual that they are. No two children are alike, and even though they may resemble you, they are not you. You may have a child that loves sports and one that can't stand to be outdoors. We should consider the individuality of each child as a blessing and pursue ways to expand on that. Discipline your child. That is not to say that you have to spank your child or beat them unmercifully. Choose the method that works best for your child. You are the adult in your relationship and should be the master manipulator. Be involved in the schooling. Ask questions regarding how your child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 70. Are Helicopter Parents Good Parents? When reading the shadow, the first thought that came to my mind was that this poem seemed pointless and held little or no meaning to it, but when I reexamined the shadow, being more mindful to the details this time, I finally recognized the genius of this piece and my opinion of the shadow drastically changed.but undoubtedly, what made this poem change my perspective to such an extent, was it's ability to portray our human nature and display them so vividly and unlike any other, I was given a new outlook on our emotions, actions, and desire's as something we have to keep under control, but sometimes we have to let our suppressed emotions manifest us in order to keep things balanced and to let loose some steam and be yourself. Based on my understanding of the boy and his shadow, I came to the conclusion that the shadow is the middle man who has to decide between opinions(the ego) and the boy act's as the devil on your shoulder, often being irrational and impulsive, it tries to convince you to take the easy road, blurring the truth, and in the process, flipping your priorities on its head for pleasure often delaying progress and losing trust in yourself (the ID). So how can the boy's shadow be the ego? And the boy the ID? Well after i finished analyzing the poem, I noticed that the shadow always attempts to act impulsively, acting before thinking. Take for example this line from the poem "and i see him jump before me, when i jump into my bed". The boy claimed that his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 74. The Growth Of The Manufacturing And Agriculture Sectors Increased productivity in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors has created a higher level of disposable income in the population, which has led to increased purchases of services. As income rises, the demand for goods tends to rise less rapidly than the demand for services; hence, the importance of services in the economy will rise. The result has been an evolution of the economy from one geared primarily to manufactured goods to an economy engaged in the creation of services. Thus the growth of services has been significant. Changes in the pattern of employment will have implications upon where and how people live, upon educational requirements, and consequently upon the kinds of organizations that will be important to society. Industrialization created the need for semiskilled worker who could be trained in a few weeks to perform the routine tasks attending machines. The service economy has caused a shift to white collar occupations in health, education, and government. For the first time in the history of industrial society, the number of white–collar workers (professionals; managers; officials; proprietors, clerical kindred, and sales workers) exceeded the number of blue–collar workers (craftsmen and foremen; operatives; and laborers) and the gap is widening. The most interesting growth has been in the managerial and professional–technical fields. The coordination of machines and people for the production of goods was central to the industrial society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

 • 78. Characteristics Of A Good Parent What makes a good parent? People have always tried to find out the answer to this question, because they think what makes a good parent makes a good family. As soon as children starts to feel that their parents care too much about them, they try to get back at them and do just what their parents don't want them to do. On the other hand, kids who face lack of freedom may end up turning into rebels and trouble makers. I believe that another thing that makes a good parent is trust. Being consistent with your child is so important because that's how trust is formed and kept. Being consistent is not changing the rules. Being consistent is not promising rewards that kids will never see. Being consistent is not threatening punishment without carrying it through. Children put trust in their parents from the very beginning and it must not be betrayed because once it is, once children find out they have been lied to, you will have to literally as a parent have to go above and beyond to win it back. Another thing is communication. Being able to communicate with your child will build confidence. Parents should not be afraid to talk to their children. They should not jump to conclusions when they are curious about something. A parent's relationship with his or her child will be reflected in the child's actions including child behavior problems, Natale explains. "If you don't have a good relationship with your child, they're not going to listen to you. Think how you relate to other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
