1. Myself My name is Panayiotis Valanides. Republic of Cyprus. Primary school teacher. 7 years teaching experience. Currently working in a public primary school in Dali, near the capital Nicosia. Teach Maths, Geography, Science and Physical Education. ICT co-coordinator in my school.

3. Our vision “Our vision is to make our school a pleasant, secured and creative environment where there is a learning culture and ethos. Children will be delighted to acquire new knowledge and skills through modern teaching methods, qualitative stimuli and technology…. While our focus is intercultural education through communication, cooperation, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect”.
4. Educational Programs Environmental issues. Program «Oikade». Pestalozzi seminar: Promoting Gender Equality in Schools. Collaboration with the museum of ancient Idalion. Reception of foreign pupils.
5. Program «Oikade» «Oikade» consists a form of distance communication between primary schools of Cyprus, Greece and greek-speaking schools abroad. It has been implemented in Cyprus since 1999. It’s basic priority is the cultivation of spiritual and culture bonds and the creation of human relationships between the correspondents.
6. «Oikade»-Benefits for the pupils They acquire new knowledge that is related with the use of new technologies such as: communication via internet. search of information and pictures in the internet. use of multimedia in a presentation. Enrichment of their knowledge through the exchange of information, experiences and views.
7. ICT in Cyprus Primary Schools 90% of primary school teachers have been trained in basic computer skills by seminars organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Cyprus Pedagogical Institute. Ratio PC per students (1 pc per 5 students). A data center was created which will run all educational applications. Implementation of pilot program of the Online School (7 Secondary Schools and 1 Primary School). A school model for technology (PeykiosGeorgiadis) has been created. The Ministry of Education has equipped sixth grade with an Interactive Board and 3 laptops.
