Introduction to Ohanyan College
              College was founded in 1997 by Suren Ohanyan.
Our educational complex is the first in Armenia that suggests the whole package
                             of educational degrees

Our staff consists of 150 educators. They are well trained, proactive, innovative
                                 active learners.
The effective communication among all of the
 major stakeholders is the key to success of
                our school
ENVIRONMENT
The school ensures a very much democratic environment, where every
    student has an opportunity to express his/her opinion, suggest
 solutions and initiate changes. Both the administrators and teachers
are open to collaborative projects, are team players, are proactive and
    initiative. The administrators of the school promote and create
  conditions for everybody to try and fail without shocking penalties.


 ICT – which include computers, projectors, scanners, notebooks, net
   services. For department of foreign languages other devices are
  available, which give them opportunities to listen to native speakers.

 In addition the department of foreign languages implement different
projects to improve the language skills of the students with the help of
   international volunteers: Intercultural Bridge, Global Village etc.
                                    .
  Internet and program Live@edu make safe collaboration among
               staff, pupils, administrators and parents.
EVALUATION
Evaluation of academic and social skills helps to
understand and analyse the real educational
process and enhance the level of education.

The evaluation of students are both summative and
formative (helps to evaluate student understanding
at a point when timely adjustments can be made).

OPPORTUNITIES
The introduction of STEM curriculum and the introduction
of new courses including Science and Engineering
starting from an elementary school is new experience in
Armenia.

The school has also implemented a course of "Computer"
in the elementary school, where teachers working
collaboratively aim at developing child's creative thinking
with the use of very basic programs. They create, draw
cartoons, fairy tales, create their own heroes etc., and
later share with their parents with the help of the Internet .
We are convinced
That this program will give our educational complex

- to learn the worldwide best case practices
- get to know new innovative ideas of projects that
intensify the collaboration of different stakeholders and
intensive use of ICT,
- ensure a stimulating environment for the leaders to
develop international cooperation projects involving
students, teachers and administrators.

About Ohanyan Educational Complex

  • 1. Innovative Schools Program 2011 Ohanyan college ARMENIA The vision of Ohanyan college is to provide an exciting learning environment with an intensive deployment of ICT and create a culture of innovation preparing the students for global citizenship in 21st century
  • 2. Introduction to Ohanyan College College was founded in 1997 by Suren Ohanyan. Our educational complex is the first in Armenia that suggests the whole package of educational degrees Name Age of pupils Quantity “Little Newton” 2.5-6 100 Kindergarten “Ohanyan” 6-10 70 Elementary School “Ohanyan” Middle 10-15 30 School Ohanyan High 15-18 130 School Our staff consists of 150 educators. They are well trained, proactive, innovative active learners.
  • 3. The effective communication among all of the major stakeholders is the key to success of our school
  • 4. ENVIRONMENT The school ensures a very much democratic environment, where every student has an opportunity to express his/her opinion, suggest solutions and initiate changes. Both the administrators and teachers are open to collaborative projects, are team players, are proactive and initiative. The administrators of the school promote and create conditions for everybody to try and fail without shocking penalties. ICT – which include computers, projectors, scanners, notebooks, net services. For department of foreign languages other devices are available, which give them opportunities to listen to native speakers. In addition the department of foreign languages implement different projects to improve the language skills of the students with the help of international volunteers: Intercultural Bridge, Global Village etc. . Internet and program Live@edu make safe collaboration among staff, pupils, administrators and parents.
  • 5. EVALUATION Evaluation of academic and social skills helps to understand and analyse the real educational process and enhance the level of education. The evaluation of students are both summative and formative (helps to evaluate student understanding at a point when timely adjustments can be made).

  • 7. OPPORTUNITIES The introduction of STEM curriculum and the introduction of new courses including Science and Engineering starting from an elementary school is new experience in Armenia. The school has also implemented a course of "Computer" in the elementary school, where teachers working collaboratively aim at developing child's creative thinking with the use of very basic programs. They create, draw cartoons, fairy tales, create their own heroes etc., and later share with their parents with the help of the Internet .

We are convinced That this program will give our educational complex - to learn the worldwide best case practices - get to know new innovative ideas of projects that intensify the collaboration of different stakeholders and intensive use of ICT, - ensure a stimulating environment for the leaders to develop international cooperation projects involving students, teachers and administrators.
