PGS System Improvement plan draft will be available for review and
public comment October 15th
– November 2nd
. The plan will then be finalized
the end of November, and implementation starting on January, 1st
.
Lottery Update: 1) A reminder that we requested that the posters from
the Lottery be two-sided (Can you spot the problem gambler and There is
hope); 2). Spanish materials available: business cards and brochure; 3)
Radio Spots produced by lottery are still available for use, you can
personalize; 4) Lottery rolling out an on-line retailer training; and 5) New
commercial’s being developed debunking myths November.
The work group for the environmental scan process is temporarily on
hold until the initial roll-out of OPDS is complete. Projecting November for
first meeting. and will be setting up a meeting in the near future.
Prevention Unit will begin work on a recorded training on how to enter
data into OPDS that will then be available to support coordinators as well
as sub-contractors..

Parent Brochure Update – Draft for review in November.
Proposed moving meeting Day and time for PGS Prevention Connect
Call to Tuesday or Thursday. Will gather feedback, new date and time
will start in 2016.
Prevention Summit Dates Oct 13-15, no Problem Gambling track
Save the Date: Focus on Future conference April 28th
& 29th
collaborative effort with Evergreen Council and HSD. Pre-conference
dates are April 26th
& 27th
.
2016 Problem Gambling Awareness Calendar Update: Estimated
delivery end of October. Flyer for 2017 contest will be included.
PGS has moved to a PGS Monthly Update via email that will cover
both Px & Tx. This replaces the newsletter.
Calendar of Events can be found on OregonPGS.org. Please plan on
attending the Provider Webinar on October 27th
. Registration is required.
