1. Introduction
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an emerging virus of medical importance.
Approximately 3% of the world's population has been infected with the
HCV, which represents about 170 million chronic carriers at risk of
developing serious complications. The World Health Organization
considers Hepatitis C an epidemic, as it can infect a patient for
decades before being discovered, is often called Silent Epidemic.
