18. ANALYSIS
• Masthead – 70‟s fair ground font which is bold which stands out
and makes you realize that it is the title of the magazine.
• Smash Hits is no longer exists as a magazine but exists as a TV
„pop‟ channel. In the case of this cover „Lady Gaga‟ is featured in
a provocative pose – probably aimed at both a male and female
audience. The model credit just says in very bold text „LADY
GAGA‟. The left third of the cover is where „LADY GAGA‟
stands out because Lady Gaga, the artist is very popular
worldwide at the present time. The text also says „The worlds
BIGGEST star uncovered. Which gives this magazine a „page 3‟
hook. This magazine also is on the very edge of its target
audience because some could class this magazine as „soft
pornography‟.
