Descriptive Essay Final The downtown metropolis can be a complex place, and some may need
to become accustomed to it. It is Five O' Clock in the afternoon. The sun is starting to drag itself
lower, dimming the landscape, leaving a majestic orange on the horizon. The towering structures
above leave enormous shadows on the people below. Car horns ring and sirens pulse, as the
people make haste towards there destinations, rushing aggressively as if though it is a race. The
end of the work day has just began. The craze is unique from anywhere else. An endless flow of
people and vehicles seem to liter the area. A man can be seen making his way towards a small
parking lot. The parking lot has not been taken care of for some time. Potholes...show more content...
Lush, green trees are everywhere. Every house and small business seems to have one or two of
them. The car makes it's way down a small street, with old fashioned houses. The car comes to a
halt in front of a beautiful tan house. The house feels cozy. The tan painted planks of wood stack
up until they reach the charcoal shingles of the rooftop. Two enormous windows are on the front
of the house, with fine, white curtains that can be seen hanging from them on the other side. On
the left side of a house there is a large chimney, which gives the house a traditional look with it's
brown and red bricks. In the front yard of the house there is a smooth, clean concrete walkway to
the front door, surrounded by many bushes, and flowers; trimmed perfectly. This house is well
kept, and it stands out as a beauty in the neighborhood. The man walks up his paved walkway, and
into the house through a large white door, with four small windows on it, and a cross like pattern
beneath them. The doors gives of the look as if it is an entryway to heaven. The house is peaceful.
Only the birds chirping in the trees can be heard. And as the man enters his house excited children

2. Descriptive Essay About Music
I grab the white headphones and put the EarPods into my ears. Then, I go through a variety of
songs until my thumb lingers over the song "You Know Me" by a band named Thunder Dreamer.
Quickly, I click play and the world around me stops as the music enters my ears. The soft guitar
strums put an end to my over thinking and suppresses my feelings of sadness. By the time the vocals
appear in the song, I can only think about music and how happy I am in this moment. By this I mean
that hearing music is the equivalent of being at peace. To be more specific, music puts me in every
place I've ever felt happiness, tastes as sweet as it sounds and relaxes my overwhelming thoughts.
With this said, I am on top of the world when I have the headphones in my ears. I feel as though I
can do anything when I am blasting a song by Cage the Elephant on my speaker. Whether I am
listening through my headphones or on a speaker, the volume is always the highest it can be.
This way, the music penetrates through the walls and through every layer of skin on my body. I
know this high level of noise is not good for me, but the music is. Uniquely, music places me back
into every dream I've ever forgotten. I am suddenly placed into the dream where I'm a kid and I
am laughing as my friends try to catch me in a game of tag. In a matter of three beats, I am a child
again and I can only thank music for this. Moreover, when I hear Frank Sinatra's voice playing from
my "Classics" playlist, I am put back into the

3. Descriptive Essay About A Library
Every person has their place. The kind of place where the world could be ending but as long as
their in that special place, they can leave the world in peace. For some it's their hometown, the gym,
a certain cafe or restaurant, or even a random spot with a sentimental meaning. For me, this place is
the Edmon Low Library here at Oklahoma State University. As a high school student, the library
was a place to check out books and print papers for free. The idea of spending hours there was
unheard of, and never spiked an interest in me. Once I started my freshman year in college, this
speculation quickly changed. From the first time I toured Oklahoma State University, I
wondered why the dazzling Georgian style library was so overwhelmingly huge. It was in the
heart of osu near the main campus facilities: the Union, Theta Pond, and various classroom
buildings. Being that the library was such a main attraction, I was curious to know why. I
wondered why there was a cafe and why each level had a different noise limit. All of these things
seemed great, but unnecessary at the same time. After all, the only thing the library was good for
in my mind was basic needs for my english class. My first day at osu I decided to see what all the
hype about this special library was. The more I explored the different levels, the more I found.
Not only were there books, free printing, a cafe, and noise accommodations, but there were also
reserved study rooms, 3D printing, subject librarians, free electronic checkouts, and so much more.
The resources available to me and all OSU students from just a library seemed almost too good to
be true. From the restoring smell of coffee on the first floor, to the antique smell of old books on the
4th floor, nothing makes you want to pull out a good book more than Edmon Low. I was almost
convinced the staff wanted students to move in, being that they are opened 24 hours on weekdays.
With students being so busy, Edom Low is a convenient place to go no matter the time of day.
Whether you're a student coming home from a late night shift not wanting to wake up your
roommates to study, or even just need to pull an all nighter for that big test, there is no such thing as
being a disturbance at the

4. Descriptive Essay About Beauty
I think our minds are obsessed with beauty. We envy those we cannot be. We strive to have this
picture perfect life, or something close to it. When I was younger, I was never out going or the kid
that talked all the time. That just wasn't me. I never thought of myself as beautiful. I thought I was
pretty, but in my mind, to be truly beautiful, one must possess other characteristics beyond the
physical realm. To be exquisite, perfectly, and wholeheartedly beautiful, one must be: independent,
self–confident, and happy. I didn't see this in myself at the time, but how could I? I was still in
elementary school. There is one woman, however, who I considered being one of the most beautiful
beings. She is partially the reason I am the person I am...show more content...
I hated shopping. But this lady with her textured turtleneck always mesmerized me with how
powerfully she presented herself. She was always so polished and prim. I never remember a
Sunday where she looked like the overworked mother, or the stress ridden woman trying to keep
her life together. No, she was quite the opposite. She was in complete control of her life.
Years passed by, I no longer saw any of her kids. Her husband, who was quite obviously older than
her, began to deteriorate. He had surgery that left him unable to walk without assistance. She was
always there, guiding him, smiling at him, helping him into the car. She maintained the same
calm, loving style towards him, before and after. At this point, I was quite a bit older. I
understood death. I could tell just by looking at him, that his time was coming to an end; anyone
could. But she paid no attention to that. She appeared older than before. Not in sense that she was
dying, but she seemed like she had accomplished whatever she wanted in life. She seemed serene,
they both did. It was in those last few months they had together that I saw a couple truly in love.
They were happy. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think that people genuinely
understand their feelings for a person until they've lived without him or her or they know that that
time is coming. She never once showed any sadness or sorrow. She remained as caring and as gentle
as ever.
He did eventually pass. She

5. Descriptive Essay About Memories
Our lives are filled with many favorable memories, but only the best ones are formed when we
gain something from them. A great memory that I have is when I went to my first concert in
Richmond with my friend, Ciana, in March of 2017. This concert is one of my best memories
because it taught me how fun life can be, no matter how wild it may become.
My friend and I aren't wild people, but we do like to randomly plan crazy things. Ciana randomly
messaged me one month before and asked if I wanted to go see this band in March. With a why not
attitude, I agreed to go. I wasn't dying to see the band live, but I did enjoy their music. There was
three other bands playing at that concert, but I wasn't familiar with any of them. Becoming familiar

To our left, there were stands where you could buy shirts. Since they weren't busy, we decided to
give the tall vender forty bucks for two of the band's tour t–shirts. It was a quick interaction, so we
still had plenty of time left. We figured we would go ahead and wait in the medium sized crowd.
The only part of the room that was well lit, was the stage. As we patiently waited, the variety of
bright colors danced across the stage. Slowly, more people came in and filled the crowd area in the
room. The stage and band equipment was set up by these men who paced across the stage. As we
waited for what seemed like eternity, time slowly stretched like finely rolled out dough. Finally, the
lights went out, and the first band came on stage.
The entire crowd screamed as loud as they can. The lights came back on and the first band comes
out. As we are enjoying the music we're listening to, the singer asks the crowd to make a moshpit.
Instantly, everybody is pushing to the perimeters of the crowd area in order to make a clear space.
Forming right next to where my friend and I are standing, the mosh pit errupted. It was very rough
to stand on the outer edge of the moshpit, but thankfully, this tall guy was our savior as he blocked
us from the tornado of bodies within the moshpit. Slowly, we pushed ourselves away from the
moshpit and towards the stage. At this point, my arm had already formed a bruise from the

6. Descriptive Essay About Happiness
The wind is ripping at our hair, both of us are panting to get some air into our lungs and
throughout our bodies. The strain is almost too much to bear, but we finally make it. We reached
the top of the hill and I won against my friend in our bike race through the city. Feeling like I might
suffocate and fall off my bike may not seem like something that can make me happy, but if it's with
my best friend, anything can make me happy. Happiness to me is being able to have fun and enjoy
small and big moments with the people you love. It should come easily without having to put much
effort into achieving it. Happiness should not be something I must chase, but it should float onto my
lap while I'm sitting with my feet kicked up. The greatest example of being filled with happiness
would be the day I rode through the cities with my most beloved friend.
This happiness filled drive through the cities started in the car. On a warm June morning, Sabrina
picked me up from my house and we set off on the road. I made a special playlist to dance and
sing our lungs out the full hour and a half drive up to the twin cities. We had not seen each other
for quite some time so this drive was especially important to catch up on our lives and some juicy
gossip. This is one of my favorite things to do with Sabrina because even when all we do is sit and
do nothing, I find that I enjoy myself to the fullest extent. Sitting there listening to my friend talk
about how annoying a classmate is, or how she tried a new food just puts a smile on my face.
Singing until we're out of breath and taking the time to listen to all the events in our lives is one of
the things I loved to do and I valued all the things we shared with one another.
We then began to transition our car ride into a bike ride. Before arriving at Fort Snelling to start
biking, we decided to stop by Caribou Coffee for a quick snack. We drove right past Caribou Coffee
for two to three miles before we realized the GPS was screaming at us to make a U–turn. Eventually,
Sabrina and I got our coffees and sat down to talk about where we'd like to bike. We decided upon
following the trails by Fort Snelling to Minnehaha Falls. After downing our drinks, and driving to

see with your all senses present. Describing each and every, pleasant or unpleasant detail about
place make you go deep inside what you see, feel, hear etc. when I start writing, I came to realize
that describing the place and it's view in positive and negative both aspects is the difficult thing.
One must have to be careful while choosing words. I have to keep a difference between pleasant

tools of it make yourself able to analyze different aspects of your writing in a very detailed way.

The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand
causing a beautiful and relaxing sound. With flapping wings and squawking noises, seagulls were
stalking tourists in the search of food. The soft, hot sand was soothing to the touch. The palm trees
danced in the swaying wind and the aroma of distant barbecues and sunscreen wafted in the air. As a
native Floridian, the thought of a Hawaiian vacation was appealing. Hours of waiting began to
accumulate when I was informed that my flight to Hawaii had been rescheduled. My frustration built

Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal
had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my
chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline.
Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was
lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she
had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest
compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR.
These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family
bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you
were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was
yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion.
The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors
being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from
the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her
lungs. Policemen arrived on the beach and began to push back the imaginary boundaries
surrounding the circle of lifeguards. The police advised everyone to leave the beach

In fact, nature appears in its best form. It provides us with all kinds of pleasure.
Other things that I also love about spring are those smells that are widespread in nature. The air is
fresh and full of pleasant aromas of different flowers. When I am walking in the fields or any other
place during spring time, my noses catch a mixture of smells that really increases my strong love for
nature.
I will now say I am absolutely calm when I am listening, feeling, smelling, and looking at the spring

12. Descriptive Essay About Animals
JADE My entire life I've always held a special place in my heart for animals. There's just
something about them that makes my usual cold stone exterior melt. Through the course of my life
I've owned several different kinds of pets, majority of which were given away. After owning all
these animals I can say without a doubt I am definitively a cat person. Each time I've lost an animal
it hurt considerably but none of which hurt as much as when I had to give up my cat Jade.
Adopting Jade was a very pivotal point in my life. I had been begging for a pet for months, I'm
talking on my knees pleading with tears in my eyes. I was looking for something to fill the
domestic animal sized void in my heart that was made when they gave my dog Pierce away
because he was "too high maintenance". I was also just thinking about how great it had been
owning our first cat Boots who they gave away because he wasn't very nice to any member of our
family but me. Finally I wore my aunt down enough to where she agreed to take me to the animal
shelter to "look and see". I had never been in an animal shelter before so I had no idea what to
expect when we arrived. It was a reasonably sized building, kind of reminding of a daycare center
for little kids. Literally every dog in the building started barking when we walked in and honestly it
broke my heart that so many of them were without homes. One of the people who worked there
showed us to the first room on our right, one of the rooms

When seated I tried to manage my tangles hair and off we were to our vacation in Honduras.
Once, we reached the end of our flight we were met with the difficulty of finding our bags, once

Stretching away from the wall was a humongous bridge that towered the wall. Standing tall on the

Wherever I am, I find it hard to resist the tempting call of my hometown. My hometown is a small
village located in Shandong province. There are about two thousand people in the village. Small as
it is, it's a very beautiful place and has its own folk culture. The weather is warm in winter and cool
in summer. It's a good place for tourism.
The most attractions in the village are the river around my hometown and the green hills opposite
the river. On the hills there are large tea plantations and fruit trees. The river, in which there are all
kinds of big and smooth cobbles, flows gurgling in four seasons, with groups of fish and shrimps
playing in the water. When spring was coming, the fields look like a green carpet, and the
willows by the river are putting forth a lot of tender branches. With breeze blowing, the long thin
branches gently brush the cool and refreshing water; there are groups of ducks having fun in the
river. Spring is also a season of sowing. When the parents are working in the field, the child are

we had a lot of good memories together from the 6th grade and i'm very excited to create brand

care she is perfect in my eyes and i will always be there for her I don't care what happens between

whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our
local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We
often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights
that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my
town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining
restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the
needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to
complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small
bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a
biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings
consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

20. Descriptive Essay Trip
One of the greatest ways to learn about the world around us is to take a trip to visit new places.
This past summer, I flew from my home in Florida to take a road trip with my aunt from Roanoke,
Virginia. We went to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was an amazing experience to be able to visit the
place where my family originated.
Our trip started in Roanoke where my aunt and I made our way to Canada driving through the
night. Unfortunately, since it was dark, I was unable to see anything. I did, however, get to have
time to talk with my aunt and get to know her a little better. After a long eleven hour drive, we
finally made it to our Canadian destination. After resting a few hours at another aunt's house in
Milton, I was ready to become tourist for a few days. My first stop was Niagara Falls just north of
the Canadian border.
Niagara Falls is the largest waterfall by volume in North America; and is one of the largest tourist
attractions. Even though it was extremely crowded making viewing difficult; the experience was
worth the inconvenience. I was able to walk around and see some of the area surrounding the
falls. The town of Niagara has great places to shop, as well as, wonderful restaurants. I enjoyed
spending time with both of my aunts and one uncle. On the way back to my aunt's house we
stopped off at my favorite restaurant, Swiss Chalet. This franchise is only in Canada, which makes
it a must stop place for my family and I to eat. In my opinion, their chicken and

21. Descriptive Essay About My Sister
If you took one look at my sister, your first thought would be "bubbly" My sister is about one of
the most bubbly people you can imagine. Her physical appearance even shows it: tiny, blonde,
innocent eyes, and a huge smile. Its as if you were to look up bubbly in the dictionary and there
would be a picture of her just smiling, almost skipping along, and even blowing bubbles. Within
seconds of meeting my sister, you can tell how extremely outgoing she is because of the way she
presents herself. Its that bubbly huge personality that has given me confidence and reassurance to
be who I am. My sister doesn't care what others are thinking about her. She is able to always make it
seem as if she is so happy. "Happiness is the only way to survive!" she always exclaims to me.
But behind that extremely outgoing and bubbly personality is the most determined person I know.
My sister's work ethic is easily the most inspirational thing about her. My most vivid memory of a
demonstration this is one particular day when I came home from my practice to find my sister
sitting on her bed in an organized mess of papers. For hours, she sat there just writing, reading, and
emailing so many things. Even after I finished everything I was doing, I still saw her sit there trying
to get everything done. What amazed me about this is no matter how much yelling and chaos
surrounded her, still she sat, because she had an incredible drive to finish everything.
Although my sister is constantly busy with school, one of the greatest things about her is that she
knows how to find a balance. Even with all the stress in her life she knows exactly how to have a
little fun. As I was laying on my bed one day just trying to finish up some school work late at
night after coming home from theater, my sister pulled me up and dragged me out of bed. When
I moaned "What are you even doing?" she _ to me "Dance! Just dance!". So being the confident
person she was, she turned on music and just started dancing as if she had no care in the world.
Lori grabbed my arms, forcing them to move, once again she hollered "Dance!". Its this moment
that reminds me that it is absolutely necessary to find a balance of work and fun. For my sister, her
balance is five minute
