INTROUDUCTION
Social Science is a major category of academic disciplines concerned with
society and the relationships among individuals within a society. It in turn has
many branches, each of which is considered a “Social Science”. Social Science is
a subject of study at the secondary school level which offers a systematic study of
man in relation to his society. It is an unending dialogue between past and present
which would help the nation to mould a better future.
Charls Beard’s perception regarding it is : Social Science is a body of
knowledge and though pertaining to human affairs. John V Michaeli defined.
“The Social Studies are concerned with man and his interaction with his social and
physical environment; they deal with human relationships….. the central function
of the social studies is identical with central purpose of education the development
of democratic citizenship.
A videoconference is a live connection between people in separate locations
for the purpose of communication, usually involving audio and often text as well
as video. At the simplest, videoconferencing provides transmission of static
images and text between two locations. At it most sophisticated it provides
transmission of full motion video images and high-quality audio between multiple
locations.

VIDEO CONFERENCE
Videoconferencing is the conduct of a video conference by set of
telecommunication technologies which allow two or more location to communicate
by simultaneous two way video and audio transmissions. It has also been called
visual collaboration and is a type of graphic ware.
Videoconferencing differs from videophone calls in that is designed to serve
a conference or multiple locations rather than individuals. It is an intermediate
form to video telegraphy, first used commercially in Germany; during the late
1930s and later in the United States during the early 1970s.
Educational video conferencing is a valuable medium in social studies
instruction. Video conferencing is an electronic means which can bring together
three or four people in two or more location to disscuss or share with the use of
two way and one way video with full motion and slow scan, electronic
blackboards, computer graphic, radio, satellite and videos. However most essential
past to video conferencing is a good quality audio to help immediate interaction
among the participants for information exchange.
Video conferencing is an effective support for remote, learners. The cost of
video conferencing usually low. The quality of introduction in social studies can
be maintained high because of the need of careful and early preparation. The video
conferencing system provides the facility to the teachers for immediate feed back
and to convey their reactions to the tutors. Video conferencing is to video
telecommunication to bring people at different sited together.

IMPACT ON EDUCATION
Video conferencing provides students with the opportunity to learn by
participating in two-way communication forms . Further more, lectures worldwide
can be brought to remote or otherwise is dated educational fecilities students from
divert communities and backgrounds can come together to learn about one another.
Although language barrier will continue to persist such students are able to
explore, communicate on days and share information and ideas with one another.
Through videoconferencing, student can visit other parts of the world to speak with
their peers and visit museums and educational fecilities.

video conferencing in the most appropriate applications, Such as training
and interval meetings, where the gains from video conferencing are
dramatically superior to a traditional audio conference cell.
2 User familiarity
CONCLUSION
Videoconferencing is the system, which may allow full audiovisual
message transmission between all the linked stations, or may be limited to one way
video transmission from the full station supported by multi way audio transmission
between all the satellite stations.
