1. Offering Structures which are safe,
economical, comfortable, easily constructed
which provide immediate shelter and later
completed to provide permanent shelter for
victims of every form of disasters and war
refugees.
2. Every year the world is plagued by natural disasters such as:
• Earthquakes
• Floods
• Hurricanes
• Wild fires
• Tornadoes
• Wars
And there are many more.
POLYFORM has the solution!
3. Wolf Binder is a professional engineer qualified with the Institute of Structural Engineers [in Britain] in 1967 and
registered with ECSA. He now practices as Binder & Associates in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa from where he
provides technical support to the Structural Engineers of Polyform Licensees
In 1965 Wolf was working for Louis van Loon, Consulting Engineer, who assigned him to design and supervise the construction of the
parking and 11 story apartment, the Durban Sands, Arguably still the most futuristic and complicated building in Durban (South
Africa). At that time computers were in their infancy and Wolf did the intricate design with a slide rule. This included several precast
reinforced and post stressed elements which later gave birth to inventions of precast components. These he manufactured in his Precon
factory until his invention of the Polyslab and Polystair. These composite polystyrene/reinforced concrete systems are far more profitable
and often require no factory - so he sold Precon in 1999 and commenced with POLYFORM.

4. AWARDS
Polyform was awarded a gold medal with the special commendation of the International
Jury at the prestigious Geneva International Exhibition in 2000. The Polish Institution of
Inventors and Rationalisers also awarded their trophy to Polyform considering it the best
invention at the exhibition. In the same year Polyform exhibited
At the Filda Exhibition in Luanda, Angola and was awarded the Leao de’Ouro plaque.
5. Polyform is involved in establishing licenses in countries that are Earthquake and disaster prone like
Nepal which Wolf has visited 3 times. The Delegation was led by the Honorable Deputy Minister of
Trade and Industries and was assisted by the South African Embassy in Turkey. In September 2014
Wolf was invited to exhibit in China and has recently visited the USA to assist with Hurricane Matthew
SOUTH AFRICAN TURKEY TRADE MISSION 2013
6. OUR MOTTO - Prevention is better than Cure.
Why reconstruct or build new houses that will cause unnecessary suffering & loss?
Polyform is able to provide immediate shelter by covering the panels with plastic
sheeting to shelter to victims immediately after a disaster…
…and later on build a structure that is permanent, safe and resistant to any forms of
natural disaster.
7. Presenting our Poly A-Frame Structure
• Cheap and Easy to manufacture and
erect.
• Ideal for community projects, disaster
relief and low cost housing.
• Can later be enhanced into a better and
bigger long term housing option.
• Strongest structural shape
The Poly A Frame houses are approximately
half the cost of the Poly rectangular and Poly
circular houses which in turn are half of the
cost of conventional houses
8. • The South African
Government provides
subsidies for Low Cost
Houses built at a maximum
rate of R2 600.00/sqm for
maximum size of 42 sqm
• Polyform is offering their
high quality Agrement
certified houses for which
we supply the polystyrene
which comprises 70% of the
total materials and offers
quality control
10. CIRCULAR LOW COST HOUSE
Circular structures are traditional in South Africa. By
providing an up-stand around the perimeter of the
flat roofs rainwater is collected which is covered by
perforated plastic sheeting to keep the water clean
and reduce evaporation
11. The Polyrectangular and
Polycircular houses can
be designed for
immediate or future
double storey. The
Polyrectangular can also
be used for single or
double storey flats

13. POLYSTRUCTURES ARE EARTHQUAKE AND STORM RESISTANT
The invention grew out of a visit to the earthquake devastated areas in Turkey
There are some 50 countries which are earthquake prone which includes Turkey and
South Africa. Many more are also prone to other natural disasters like tornados &
cyclones which cause massive destruction to lives and structures.

( Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research )
Issued a paper substantiating that POLYSTRUCTURES have 5 unique earthquake
resistant qualities
EARTHQUAKE DAMAGES LOW & HIGH RISE
BUILDINGS
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE !!
- * Specify POLYSTRUCTURES *
14. 1. Light Weight
Newton's Law
Acceleration has this important influence on damage,
because, as an object in movement, the building obeys
Newton' famous Second Law of Dynamics. The simplest form
of the equation which expresses the Second Law of Motion is
F = MA. ( force = mass x acceleration )
The Polyslab was used in this building which saves 50 % over a solid
reinforced concrete slab.
If the brickwork was replaced by Polywalls the total reduction in
weight would be 70%
Therefore the reduction of the destructive force is a massive 70%!!!
15. 2. Shallow foundations
SHALLOW POLYSTRUCTURES FOUNDATIONS
“RIDE” EARTHQUAKES
Earthquakes shake the building via the foundations.
NORMAL DEEP FOUNDATIONS
ALLOWS SEVERE SHAKING OF BUILDINGS
16. 3. Flexible
The reinforcement in the
Polypanels is ductile and
therefore causes Polystructures to
be flexible and restore
its original shape The polystyrene
is soft and cannot cause
injury to occupants
Conventional construction of brick or block
work are rigid and therefore subject to
cracking and disintegration causing injury
and fatalities to occupants.
17. 4. Polystructures Absorb Destructive
Vibrations
Polystyrene is used universally in packaging to protect
goods from shock damage
Brick building shattered by earth quake vibrations
18. 5. Cohesive Cage
Polystructures retain the integrity and shape of the
buildings like a cage
Conventional construction disintegrating
The reinforcement in the ribs to the
Polywallpanels in Polystructures is
built into the ground and roof slabs
forming frames every 250 mm centres
thus surrounding and holding the
structures together. This is further assisted
by the reinforced ring beam
over the openings
