Neolithic architecture developed in the 5th millennium BCE and was characterized by simple, temporary structures made from natural materials like mud bricks and stone. Common features included mud brick and stone walls as well as stone used for roofs. Some of the earliest examples of Neolithic architecture have been found in Asia.
