A Matrix Structure : An Organization
A matrix structure will not be successful if an organization's employees are not trained with the
ability and skills necessary to operate within the structure. Employees must have the right mindset
and behaviors in order to operate in an environment that is constantly conflicted with multiple
bosses and simultaneously pursuing multiple aims (Bartlett and Ghoshal, 1990; Ford and Randolph,
1992). The employees need to have the same goals within the organization so there is less
competition among them. For example take two teams one is in marketing and one is in
development if both of them have different goals to achieve this leads to conflict among both teams
creating a dysfunctional workplace. These same employees also need to know exactly what their job

Thought examinations include nonexistent situations in which the audience are asked to envision
what things might be similar to if such–and–such were the situation. The individuals who feel that

Even worse, orders from different managers can outright conflict. Employees can't follow these
orders because they're mutually exclusive. This causes ambiguity and confusion as to what the
employee should do. This problem can be avoided with high levels of communication and
coordination between department managers and project managers though. If these managers can
stay on the same page, they can have a much clearer picture of where to lead employees and they
can put up a unified front. In that way, instructions from either manager that a given employee
reports to can give orders consistent with the orders given by the other manager, and the employee

(Schmerheim, 2015). This paper discusses the topic of whether the Matrix film is more like
Descartes' evil deceiver or otherwise like the Berkeley's God by analyzing the philosophy with
regards to the Matrix film. The Matrix is a 1999 film that is significantly founded on the question of
what is reality and Berkeley and Descartes, on the other hand, perceived the world as having two
different versions of the truth. This paper will thus discuss the philosophy of Descartes and Berkeley
concerning the concept of reality and then provide supporting evidence how the Matrix film is a
reflection of their ideas.
