autometic watter bottle filling system
1. `
Abstract.
As the automation is need of the society for desirable lifestyle.
The objective of Automatic Bottle Filling System project is to
provide easy access to the small scale industries for filling bottles
automatically. The project is mainly useful in the Medicine
Manufacturing Company and soft drinks Manufacturing Company
in which drinks and syrup are automatically filled in the bottle.
Here we use conveyor for whole operation which is controlled
with the help of ardiuno microcontroller. In market most of
automatic bottle filling systems are having high cost. The target of
our project is giving this system to customer in user-friendly way
with minimum cost.
1. INTRODUCTION
In small industries bottle filling operation is done manually. The
manual filling process has many shortcomings like spilling of
water while filling it in bottle, equal quantity of water may not
be filled, delay due to natural activities of human etc. This
problem faced by small industries compels us to take up this
project. Our project is meant for small industries. It aims to
eliminate problem faced by small scale bottle filling system.
With this system that operates automatically, every process
can be smooth and the process of refilling can reduce workers
cost and operation time. The system operates by the program
that designed to do the operation.

Components Selection the Automated Bottle Filling System will
compriseof the various components which are controller by the
Microcontroller. The proximity sensor will be used to detect the
presenceof bottle. DC servo motor will be responsiblefor effective
transfer of bottles by the means of conveyor system. Solenoid Valvewill
control the amount liquid filling the bottle. The entire systemwill be
controlled by the Microcontroller unit. The details of the various
components will be given the following sections.
Arduino2560 Micro-Controller:- IT is used to writeprograms & create
interface circuits to read switches & other sensors. Itcontrols motors &
lights with very little effort. The Arduino programming language is a
simplified version of C/C++. An important feature of the arduino is that
one can create a controlprogramon the host PC, download it to the
arduino and it will run automatically and one can reset the programby
using reset button. The power of the arduino is not its ability to crunch
code, but rather its ability to interact with the outside world through its
input-output pins. The Arduino has 14 digital I/O pins labeled 0 to 13
that can be used to turn motors and lights on and off and read the state
of switches. Each digital pin can sink 40 mA of current.

Proximity Sensor:- A proximity sensor often emits an electromagnetic
field or a beam of electromagnetic radiation (infrared, for instance), and
looks for changes in the field or return signal. A proximity sensor
consists of two parts transmitter and receiver
Flat Belt Conveyor:- A Flat Belt Conveyor as shown in figure no.
is used to give direction to the bottles on their location & carry
them forward sequentially to fill with water. A Flat Belt is
passed over two rollers to performed rolling action. The system
involves one motor.
DC motor:- A DC motor is an essential part in the conveyor
system. A motor is a rotary mover that allows for precise
control of angular position, velocity and acceleration. It also

requires a relatively sophisticated controller, often a dedicated
module designed specifically for use with motors.
Solenoid valve:- It is an electromechanically operated valve.
The valve is controlled by an electric current through a
solenoid. A two-port valve is switched on or off. It is timer
operated and is used to control the amount of liquid to be
filled. Its switching is controlled by the microcontroller.
Layout methodology :-In Automated bottle filling system, the
whole process of filling must be completed without human

interference. This is achieved by following flow chart in figure .In
this system, when start button is pushed, the motor starts running
which gives translational motion to the conveyor belt.
EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS:-
The experimental results are obtained by observations taken for
different volume inputs and outputs of volumes filled in bottles.
Two graphs are obtained for the values of 100ml as input.
Graph of observation number vs volume for filling 100 ml bottle
From the above graph, it can be seen that there are possible
deviations of the observed values from the input volume due

to bubbles in delivery pipe and back flow of water due to
gravity
CONCLUSION:-
The automated bottle filling system using pump filling concept
was successfully implemented and studied Various
observations were taken which closely resembled the actual
volume to be filled. The automated bottle filling system was
beneficial in reducing work, time and cost of filling. The
fabricated model of Automated bottle filling system can be
used where high precision is not necessary and time limits not
bound. Hence it must be used application specific and must not
be used in places where faster and more accurate methods of
filling are available.
