2. “Upper Ganges Canal”
The Upper Ganges canal is the original Ganges Canal,
which starts at the Bhimgoda Barrage near Har ki Pauri at
Haridwar, traverses Meerut and Bulandshahr and
continues to Nanau in Aligarh district, where it bifurcates
into the Kanpur and Etawah branches.
3. The Bhimgoda Barrage, also referred to as the Bhimgoda
Weir or Bhimgoda Head Works, is a barrage on the
Ganges River at Har ki Pauri near Haridwar in Haridwar
district, Uttarakhand.

4. Aqueduct Roorkee
India's first aqueduct- Solani Aqueduct was constructed by the
Britishers in 1846 and epitomizes the perfect example of
engineering marvel in Uttarakhand. It is a source of major
attraction for people visiting Roorkee.
5. The vintage Ganga canal
"The Ganges Canal, Roorkee, Saharanpur District(U.P.)." The
canal was the brainchild of Sir Proby cautley; construction
began in 1840, and the canal was opened by Governor-
General Lord Dalhousie in April 1854.
6. Ganges Barrage
Officially named as Lav Khush Barrage, this bridge across the
Ganges lies at Azad Nagar-Nawabganj in Kanpur.
Construction started in 1995 and inaugurated in May 2000. The
total length is 621 m and will serve as a four lane Highway Bypass
for NH 91.
7. About Ganga
Ganga has been a source of inspiration to saints, poets, authors,
scientists, leaders, and many who have gathered at Her banks. Ganga
is not only the lifeline of nearly 500 million people who live along Her
banks and the ecosystems She supports, but She is truly the cultural
and spiritual heritage of India. As renowned environmentalist and
GAP member Dr. Vandana Shivaji said,
“If Ganga lives, India lives. If Ganga dies, India dies.”
