who is suffering with severe knee and leg pain;
* for Larry Rees who is experiencing unpleasant
chemo and radiation effects;
* for Annette Stone’s mom who is not doing well and
is in the hospital with heart failure;
* for peace and wisdom for Laurie Luke’s mom who
has health issues & major life choices to make;
* for Sabrina Preikszas’ mom who had successful
surgery and has started chemo treatments;
* for great results for John Feyereisen who is waiting
for results from an MRI and that the oxygen treatments
that he is receiving will help him greatly;
* for Zach Caruth to find an answer and a treatment
plan for the seizures that he experiences;
* for Tobin Crook to be able to enjoy the rest of the
summer without pain and sickness as he continues
his treatments;

who has been treated for pancreatic cancer and has

CHURCH SERVANTS NEEDED:
FAMILY BIBLE HOUR: We are in need of a Family Bible Hour teacher
and aide for K-1st grade and an aide for 2nd-3rd grade. The curriculum is
provided. Some lesson planning required, approximately 1-2 hours a week.
If you are interested in helping out, please contact Lynn Van Kampen at
399-8779 or email her at lvankamp@zps.org. Family Bible Hour is held on
Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30 am beginning September 18 with a
breakfast and Opening Ceremony.
PIONEER CLUBS: Pioneer Clubs which meets on Wednesday evenings
from 6:30-8:00 pm for age 4 through 5th grade is in need of the following
teachers: 2 for preschool/kindergarten, 2 females for 1-2 grade girls,
2 males for 1-2 grade boys, 2 females for 3-4 grade girls, 2 males for
3-4 grade boys, and 2 females for 5th grade girls. If you served last
year and are willing to help out again or if you have never taught but
are interested in more information, please contact Julie Hapke or
Ruthann VanAelst at 399-9950 or email jar0926@charter.net.
FAMILY OUTING TO WHITECAPS GAME!
SUNDAY, AUGUST 21
If you are interested in attending a West Michigan Whitecaps Game on 8/21,
please sign up at the Student Ministries Counter. All are invited!!! The
Whitecaps will be playing Dayton at 1:00 pm. The group ticket rate is
$11.50 per person. If you have questions, see Ty or Courtney Cook.

COOKOUT AT THE SPYKERMANS All are invited to Pastor Gary & Sue’s
home (3916 Tall Grass East Court in Holland) this Thursday, August 11, from
6-8 pm. Bring a dish to pass and a lawn chair. Meat and drinks will be
provided. Lawn games and a hot tub are available plus a fire pit for s’mores!
No need to RSVP - just show up for a fun evening with your church friends.
PARKSIDE PEDDLERS Parkside’s Bicycle Club next outing will be on
Thursday, August 18, at 6:30 pm. Details available next Sunday.
LADIES DINNER & GAME NIGHT Please join other ladies and their friends
on Friday, August 19, at 5:30 p.m. for supper at the Farmhouse in Zeeland
then come back to the church for simple games and snacks. Sign up at the
Women’s Ministry Counter.
YOUNG MARRIED COUPLES EVENT An “adventure” for Parkside’s young
married couples and their children is planned for Saturday, August 20, at
Sandy Pines located midway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo
(3681 28th Street in Dorr.) Mini-golf, a water park and splash pad, ice
cream, beach & family fun, and human fooseball are available. Bring your
own picnic lunch, a side dish to pass for dinner and $20 per family to cover
costs. The church van will be leaving at 9:45 am and returning at 8:00 p.m.
(Or drive on your own and arrive at Sandy Pines at 11 a.m.) We will have
youth available to help with children if needed. RSVP by August 14 to Sue
Spykerman or the church office. (Rain date - August 27.)
PARKSIDE BOOK CLUB Parkside’s Book Club, lead by Tim Derks, is
being held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Board Room.
We are reviewing the book “Where Is God When It Hurts?” by Philip Yancey.
Please contact the church office if you would like to purchase a book for $6.
Even if you only have time to read a few paragraphs, you are welcome to
attend. For those who can read the entire section each week, simply high-
light the sentences that you find meaningful, and we will use those quotes
for the discussion. There will be no reviews this Wednesday, 8/10, but
additional meetings are scheduled on 8/17, 8/24 and 8/31.

The following students are heading off to college and we would like to help
them out by providing College Baskets for each of them: Alex Cooke, Trevor
DeJong, Bina Klemm, Hailey Mason, Scott Nieboer & Anna Repesh. If you would be
willing to help out, please pick up an index card(s) from the tables located
outside the sanctuary. The cards list items the students desire.
All items and index cards must be returned by next Sunday,
August 14, so that the students can take the items to college with them.
