The document summarizes a student film project analyzing a teen drama opening sequence. It describes stereotypical teen film characters and how the main character goes against conventions as the popular girl. It also analyzes the representation of characters, social hierarchies, and ethnicity. Feedback on the drafts is provided, noting the clear storyline and relatable narrative. Strengths include following conventions and appealing to the target audience, while weaknesses involve technical elements like sound and camera work.

Representation of ethnicity is negatively represented in Teen
films as there is usually an absence, or stereotypically
portrayed.
Therefore our opening sequence positively represents
ethnicity, in a non stereotypical way.

have produced the teen films that
we have studied which have

This would also allow us to have

This also gave us an idea towards

opening sequence due to its
contents such as use of profanity.

18. It may be argued that this makes our opening
sequence gender specific and appeal more to
teenage girls than boys. Although we have
tried to make the story line appeal to teenage
boys as well by making the male protagonist
Nikil (Avnish) a main role towards the
development in the storyline and contribute
towards the humour of the story as the girls
are fighting over him.
21. What I liked about the project was that it was filmed to a great
quality, which surprised me, the story line was clear, the simplicity of
a book flicking was quite affective, the colour and tone was bright and
cheerful just like an American Teenage film.
Straight away when you hear the music you imagine them American
Teenage films such as Mean Girls. From what I saw it seemed like a
fictional teen story, where there is definitely a relationship between a
boy and girl. The girlfriend in the story is flicking through the year
book and discovers a girl she hated in her year, and she’s jealous of
her thinking she's trying to steal her boyfriend, and starts sticking
bubble-gum and scribbling all over her face which made it clear she
didn’t like the girl being around her man as the last words made it
clear.
22. It was fun to be apart of this project, I
enjoyed recreating all of the photos for the
yearbook. The final clip was really well put
together. The storyline was engaging and
enjoyable, through the narrative. It was
funny and the audience may be able to
relate to it.
23. Technology source How we applied it
Camera To an extent I think that we used it
well, as some of the camera shots
were a bit shaky.
Macs Hard to use, I thought it was a
challenge.
Imovie A new editing software which is more
advanced and technical to use. I think
that we could have used it more
effectively if we had more time to
explore.
Wordpress Helped us to organise and present
our work successfully and
professionally.
Youtube Allowed us to share our work. I thiink
that we used it effectively

that we an extent we have improved with use
of technology.
