Basic Concept Of Subtraction
Hello guys, now I want to explain about Basic Concept Of Subtraction.
Subtraction means to take away or minus. For example, I have five coins. Let us take away two coins. As
we take away two coins, we need to subtract two from five. So the number of remaining coins is three.
We are actually subtracting tw o from five that is five minus two is equal to three.the minus sign is a
symbol used for denoting subtraction and the answer obtained is called the difference.
Ok guys, thanks for you attention and see you bye.
Subtraction Using a Number Line
Hello I want explain about Subtraction Using a Number Line.
We can also subtract using the number line. For example, to find the difference between six and three. We
star at six that is the bigger number and jump three numbers to the left. the number that we get is three
which is the answer. Therefore, the difference of six and three is three
Thanks for watching and see you letter.
Vertical subtraction with borrowing
Hello guys I will explain about Vertical subtraction with borrowing
We are going to see how to subtract two and two digit numbers with the sum involves borrowing. We’ll
be using the standard written method which a sometimes called the column method. The example
question we will use is Eci has fourty five shoes, and she share twenty seven to her friend and the
question how many shoes are left? So we are doing fourty five minus twenty seven which we lay out
like this. Remember we always start at the the number one the right and walk away left. So the first part
we need to do is five minus seven. However we can’t do that because five is too small to take away seven
of it.so we are going to borrow of from number fourties next to the neighboar which is the four. Because
we are going to borrow one from the four, we need to cross it out and replace it with the three. And now
we want to give the one we have borrowed to our five. You might think of you make it cover six but
that’s not quite right because we need to move right place value. Because our four in tens column , we
haven’t just borrowed one, it actually borrowed one tens, and we add the ten to five we get fifteen. So
write a little number one next to five to show this is standing to fitteen. Add now we can do our
calculation. So, fifteen minus seven equals eight and three minus two equals one, so, know we have had
an answer , fourty five minus twenty seven equals eighteen.
Thank you for watching and see you next time.
