1. FOUR TICKETS TO CHRISTMAS
OCEC Dessert Theatre Production – Dec. 3-6, 2009
Set at the turn of the century, a captivating score blends ragtime, parlor music, and even a
barbershop quartet with a mix of traditional and new Christmas music, character songs, and
production numbers.
The Broadway-style musical follow the escapades of an out-of-work family performing group who
find themselves unexpectedly spending Christmas in a small rural town in Ohio, where the entire
family learns the importance of following God’s unique direction for their lives. By Christmas Eve
they’ve turned the town upside down—and some of their own relationships around. “It’s a season
of beginnings,” and that includes beginning and restoring a relationship with the Savior whose birth
is being celebrated.
OCEC first performed “Four Tickets To Christmas” in 1996 and we expect it’s vintage charm and
timeless message to communicate effectively to 21st century audiences. Brimming with nostalgia,
humor, poignant drama and a sterling score, “Four Tickets To Christmas” is a feel-good family
musical that will charm our audiences and provide a wonderful outreach to our community.
Pastor Dave LeRud will serve as the producer and music director for OCEC’s project and Vicki
Guthrie will be our drama director. Many volunteers are needed for our dessert theatre production,
including actors, singers, set builders, stagehands, kitchen workers, table waiters, and more. Adult
singers who would like to be part of the chorus will rehearse on Wednesdays from 8:15-9:00pm
beginning September 23. The chorus will also include a teen/young adult ensemble, which will be
featured on one or two choreographed production numbers.
Auditions for the acting roles in the musical will be held Thursday, August 20 and Monday, August
24 beginning at 7:00p.m. Callbacks (as needed) will be held Tuesday, August 25. Those wishing to
