1-TAKE WUDHU
• Wudhu is the process of washing your body with water. It is
called as ablution in English. Wudu consists of washing your
face, arms, ears, mouth, hands, feet and wiping you head in
the prescribed manner.

2- KEEP NIYYAH
• We should keep niyyah before every prayer. Niyyah is the
process of making intention quietly in mind of which salah you
are going to perform.
for example: if I am going to perform dhuhr prayer I should say “I am
going to pray 4 rakath of dhuhr prayer for you Allah, behind the
imam*, facing the qibla.”
*if you are praying with an imam

3.1- TAKBIR
• After keeping niyyah say “ ُ‫ه‬ ّٰ‫ٱَلل‬ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫أ‬ ” (Allah is the greatest),
raise your hands and then fold your hands. This process is
called takbir.

3.2: SANA
• After takbir we should say the Sana dua.
َُ‫ت‬َ‫و‬ُ،َ‫ك‬‫ه‬‫م‬ ْ‫ُاس‬َ‫ك‬َ‫ر‬‫با‬َ‫ت‬َ‫و‬ُ،َ‫ك‬ِ‫د‬ْ‫م‬َ‫ح‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫و‬ُّ‫م‬‫ه‬‫ه‬ّ‫ُالل‬َ‫ك‬َ‫ن‬‫حا‬ْ‫ب‬ ‫ه‬‫س‬َُ‫ه‬َ‫ل‬ِ‫ُإ‬َ‫ال‬َ‫و‬ُ،َ‫ك‬ُّ‫د‬َ‫ج‬ُ‫ى‬َ‫ال‬َ‫ع‬
َُ‫ك‬‫ه‬‫ر‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫غ‬
(Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and
Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but
You.)

3.3: FATIHA
• After Sana we should recite surah Fathiha.

3-3: SURAH
• After fathiha we should recite surah any Sura or ayah from the
holy Quran.

4-RUKOO
• After reciting the suras say “ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫ُأ‬ ‫ه‬ ّٰ‫”ٱَلل‬ and bent your hip
resting your hands on your knees then say “َُ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ر‬َُ‫ان‬َ‫ح‬ْ‫ب‬‫”س‬
(Glory be to my Lord Almighty)3 times.

5-I’TIDAL
• After rukoo, say “‫”سمعُهللاُلمنُحمده‬ (Allah listens to those
who praise him), stand up straight then raise and lower your
arms. Then say “‫ناُلكُالحمدملءُالسماواتُوملءُاألرض‬‫”رب‬
(Praise be to you Allah, for the fullness of the heavens and the
fullness of the earth).

FIRST SAJADAH
• After I’tidal, say “ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫ُأ‬ ‫ه‬ ّٰ‫”ٱَلل‬ and go to sajadah or prostration.
There should 5 points of contact with the ground while
performing sajdah, your forehead, nose, palms of hand, knees,
and toes of the feet. Put your head between your palms such
that your thumbs are aligned with earlobes. The elbows should
be raised away from the ground. In this position say “َُ‫ان‬َ‫ح‬ْ‫ب‬ ‫ه‬‫س‬
َُ‫ل‬ ْ‫ع‬َ‫ُاأل‬َ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ر‬” (Glory is to my Lord, the greatest.)

6- JALSAH AL ISTIRAHAH
• After the first sajadah, say “ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫ُأ‬ ‫ه‬ ّٰ‫”ٱَلل‬ and sit upright.Then say
ُ‫رب‬ُْ‫ﺟ‬‫َﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬ ‫َﺍﺭﺣﻤﻨﹺﻲ‬‫ﻭ‬ ‫ِﻲ‬‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺍﻏﻔﺮ‬‫بر‬‫ﻧﹺﻲ‬ُ‫وارفعن‬‫َﺍﺭﺯﻗﹾﻨﹺﻲ‬‫ﻭ‬‫ِﻧﹺﻲ‬‫ﺪ‬ْ‫ﻫ‬‫َﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
‫وعافني‬ ‫واعفعني‬
(Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, compel me, lift me up,
provide for me, calm me, heal me, and protect me.)

7- SECOND SAJADAH
• In this step we should repeat the process of the first sajadah.

1ST RAKATH Completed…
• So now the first rakath Is completed and we are going to start
the second rakath.

REPEAT THE 1ST RAKATH
• In the second rakath we should repeat the first rakath and add
one more step.

8-1: 2ND JALSAH
• After repeating the first rakath say “ ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫ُأ‬‫ه‬ ّٰ‫ٱَلل‬ ” and sit upright. If
you are praying Fajr or any Sunna prayer, its time for you to end
the prayer. Say

َُ‫ُع‬‫ه‬‫م‬َ‫ال‬ ّ‫ُالس‬ ‫ه‬‫ات‬َ‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬ّ‫الط‬َ‫و‬ُ ‫ه‬‫ات‬َ‫و‬َ‫ل‬ّ‫الص‬َ‫و‬ُِ ّ ِ‫َُلل‬ ‫ه‬‫ات‬ّ‫ي‬ِ‫ح‬ّ‫لت‬ُِ ّ‫ُاَلل‬‫ه‬‫ة‬َ‫م‬ْ‫ح‬َ‫ر‬َ‫و‬ُُّ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬ّ‫اُالن‬َ‫ه‬ُّ‫ي‬َ‫ُأ‬َ‫ك‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ل‬

(Greetings to Allah and the prayers of peace and good things to you,
O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and blessings of peace on us and on the
righteous slaves of Allah I bear witness that there is no god, but Allah
and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.)

(oh Allah! Send blessings upon (Holy Prophet) Muhammad and upon

praiseworthy and glorious. Oh Allah! Bless (Holy Prophet) Muhammad
and the follower of (Holy Prophet) Muhammad as You blessed
Ibraheem and the follower of Ibraheem; indeed, You are
praiseworthy and glorious.

(O God, forgive me for what I did and for what I did later, for what I
have secured, for what I have declared, for what I have committed,
and for what I know of. You are the first, and you are the last. There
is no god but you)
Now you can end the prayer by sayingُ‫السالمُعليكمُورحمةُهللا‬
‫وبركاته‬ ‫السالمُعليكمُورحمةُهللاُوبركاته‬ (Peace, mercy and
blessings of God be on you. Peace, mercy and blessings of God be on
you.) and by twisting your neck side to side.

• If you are praying dhuhr, asr or isha, sit in an upright position and
say “ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬َ‫ب‬ْ‫ك‬َ‫ُأ‬ ‫ه‬ ّٰ‫”ٱَلل‬ then say ُّ‫الط‬َ‫و‬ُ ‫ه‬‫ات‬َ‫و‬َ‫ل‬ّ‫الص‬َ‫و‬ُِ ّ ِ‫َُلل‬ ‫ه‬‫ات‬ّ‫ي‬ِ‫ح‬ّ‫لت‬ُ‫ه‬‫م‬َ‫ال‬ ّ‫ُالس‬ ‫ه‬‫ات‬َ‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬
