If I had to describe the terrain of my location, it would obviously be in the middle of the ocean on water. The depth of the ocean though, is from

Season proved unusually damaging for Florida and the Atlantic coast of the United States. In total, the storms claimed the lives of over 3000 people,
and racked up a total of $57 billion in damages. At the time, it was the costliest and most damaging hurricane season, only to be surpassed by 2005
season. Even so, the 2004 season holds every record for most activity during August–September time frame, as it showed even more activity than the
2005 season. While the 2005 season did create more storms and damages, the period from August to September was much quieter than in 2004 season.
The season clocked in 15 named storms and 6 major hurricanes, significantly above the average for the region. Interestingly, the 2004 season is the only
season where the National Hurricane Center was continually issuing tropical–cyclone advisories, a testament to the sharp increase in activity. Two
primary features spiked increased storm activity. First, a strong Atlantic equatorial trough and steering currents. The National Hurricane Center of the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) both issued predictions in advance for an increased season, but a westward steering
current associated complimented a stable subtropical high–pressure system and caused unexpected effects. This pushed many of the hurricanes to track
westward across the U.S.
