5. WHY SHOULD WE MEDITATE ON
WORD OF GOD?
Our mind is a battleground
Romans.7:22,23
“For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me,
waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of
sin at work within me.”
And our mind has the ability to resist on the needs of soul.
By meditating on the word of God we will be a to train attention towards God
and awareness regarding God and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm
and stable state .

7. HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO MEDITATE
ON WORD OF GOD?
• In verse 2, it describes that we have to meditate the Word of God day and night in
order to become blessed.
• In physical body, the normal digestion process takes place between 6-8 hours after
each meal. That means our body is undergoing digestion process day and night.
• Digestion process is compared to meditation of word of God.
• We may be hearing/reading the Word of God for 2-3 times a day. But we have to
meditate on word of God, day and night.

9. PERSON WHO MEDITATES ON GOD’S
WORD IS COMPARED TO A TREE
• Tree has root system which determines the nourishment and stability.
• Roots help to absorb necessary nutrients from soil, store the nutrients and transport
the nutrients to different parts of the plant. And it also helps to anchor the tree firmly
in the soil.
• Likewise when we meditate on word of God, it will helps in absorbing the necessary
nutrients needed for the soul, it will store the nutrients in our mind and heart and it
supplies the nutrients to the whole being.
• Meditation of Word of God also helps the person to anchor firmly in Christ
relationship.
10. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEDITATION
AND STABILITY
• The more deeper the roots of trees, the more stability to withstand in
storms.
• As we meditate on word of God, our relationship with God will become
deeper and our ability to withstand the storms of our life increases.
• Chaff has no roots. When the wind comes, it will blow away.
• In Psalm 1.4, the person who don’t meditate on Word of God are
compared to chaff.
