2. We are special! This truth is narrated
in the story of Creation in the Book of
Genesis. In this Creation story, we
discover a number of important truths
about God, about ourselves, and about
His other creations.
GOD CREATES
3. • Goodness is found in all of God’s creations but it is most
especially and abundantly found in God.
• God is the source of all goodness, He created us because
He wants to share His goodness with us.
• Everything that God created is good
• God created human beings, “in His image and likeness”
this means that we are sharers of His goodness and holiness
GOD CREATES
4. Being created in God’s image and likeness carries
with it a very serious responsibility, we are being
appointed by God as guardians and caretakers of this
world. The goods of this world must be used
according to God’s will and for the good of the
needs of all.
GOD CREATES
5. Becoming good, then, is to reflect the holiness of God and
to direct ourselves and all other creations towards
goodness. It means to live out the purpose of our existence
that is to serve and love God. To lead all of creation of this
world in praise and thanksgiving back to Him and be
raised to life with Him in heaven.
GOD CREATES
6. Being good means to devote ourselves
wholeheartedly to spread to all how great and
mighty our God is. In this way, the holiness that
God has given us will grow in fruitful abundance, as
clearly shown in the history of the Church through
the lives of so many saints.
GOD CREATES
7. God truly working from the past to the present and
right now, calling us to share with one another the
holiness that He bestowed on all of His creation.
“All are called to a union of love with God and with one
another. All without exception are called holiness, this is
the perfection of charity.”
GOD CREATES
8. • God created the world by the power of His word
• Everything that God created is good, thus He is the
source of all goodness.
• God put order in everything that He created.
• God created man and woman after His own image and
likeness and they were given dominion over all of
God’s creation making them stewards of God’s creation
GOD CREATES
9. • We are now stewards of God’s creations, therefore, we
have the responsibility to take care of it as guardians or
caretakers.
• We have to be the reflection of God’s goodness by
becoming a good example to others.
• God’s constant presence can be felt when we actively
participate in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
