- 4. ระบบสารสนเทศ • Information System – ระบบที่มีการนําเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ (Information Technology) มาใช้ เพื่อสนับสนุนกระบวนการทํางานบางอย่างของมนุษย์ – ใช้เทคโนโลยีเป็น เครื่องมือ เพื่อให้ข้อมูล (Deliver information) และ สนับสนุนกระบวนการทํางาน (business processes) ให้กับ ผู้ใช้งาน (users) ในการทํางานหนึ่งๆ – เช่น ระบบการฝาก-ถอนเงินผ่านเคาน์เตอร์ธนาคาร ระบบการลงทะเบียน เรียนผ่านเว็บ ระบบ e-learning ระบบจองตั๋วเครื่องบิน ระบบแสดงตาราง เที่ยวบิน เป็นต้น

- 8. องค์ประกอบของระบบสารสนเทศ Hardware Software Peopleware Data - อุปกรณ์คอมพิวเตอร์ ทั้งเครื่อง แม่ข่าย (Servers) และเครื่องลูก ข่าย (Clients) - ระบบเครือข่าย (Network) - ระบบปฏิบัติการ (Operating System) เช่น Windows XP - โปรแกรมช่วยสนับสนุนการ ทํางาน (System Utilities) เช่น Antivirus - โปรแกรมประยุกต์ (Applications) เช่น Microsoft Word หรือ Hospital Information System - ข้อมูลที่เก็บในระบบ - ผู้ใช้งาน โครงสร้างพื้นฐานสารสนเทศ (IT Infrastructure)
