WHAT IS A MEDIA INSTITUTE?
• A media institute is established organization whether public or
private which deals with the creating and distribution of
advertising , entertainment and information services.
REPRESENTATION (IMAGE)
• Distributing your media product is not an easy job , the type of
media institute matters. The image has to be popular and it has to
address and project towards the right audience and has to address
the right message.
• Your image is one of the most important factors , it’s the same as
having the right brand name as it would help you sell tickets and
help you actually earn profit from the distribution of your media
product.
• Also your name and image has to be unique and different from the
typical representations every other media product has.

• Synergy is when different parts of a company join together to
promote related products.
• Cross media ownership , when a company creates two or more
different types of media.
• Subsidiary, is smaller companies which are owned by a parent
company.
• Oligopoly is when a market is dominated by smaller numbers of
companies.

• All the companies below are subsidiaries of Viacom
OLIGOPOLY
• The type of media institute which would be suitable for Musca would be
an Oligopoly. The reason I chose Oligopoly because from my research of
all the institutional terminologies oligopoly institutions are all huge
media corporations famous for their blockbuster movies and television
series that they produces every year.
• The fact that my media product is considered to be more a wide spread
movie , meaning it being more world wide , rather than saturation. The
reasons for it being more wide spread is due to the high class and
established actors and actresses which were cats into the movie.
• Lastly, having a oligopoly media corporations to represent and distribute
the media product will give a wider distribution and marketing and more
so giving the media name the right name and brand for advertising.
