2. Study the following sentences:
 I haven’t seen Rajesh since morning.
 Since joining the company Rajesh promoted
twice.
 I haven’t seen Rajesh since the day broke.
 Rajesh promoted twice since he had joined the
company.
 Rajesh left yesterday, I haven’t seen him since.
 Rajesh promoted twice he had joined since.

3. If you study the above sentences carefully, you observe
that the parts of speech of “since” in all the sentences is
not the same.
उपरोक्त वाक्यों को ध्यान से देखने पर यह पता चलता है की
“since” सब वाक्यों में एक ही सब्द के प्रकार (parts of
speech) के रूप में प्रयोग नही ककया गया है.

4.  I haven’t seen Rajesh since morning.
 Since joining the company Rajesh promoted twice.
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में “since” एक “preposition” जैसा प्रयोग
ककया गया है.
In above sentences ‘since’ is used as a preposition.

5. एक वाक्य में ‘preposition’ का उपस्थितत पहचानना बहुत
आसान है. ‘preposition’ के बाद हमेशा noun या
pronoun या noun phrase रहता है.
To identify a preposition in a sentence is very simple.
Always a noun or pronoun or a noun phrase follows a
preposition.

6.  I haven’t seen Rajesh since the day broke.
 Rajesh promoted twice since he had joined the
company.
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में “since” एक “conjunction” जैसा प्रयोग
ककया गया है.
In above sentences ‘since’ is used as a “conjunction”.

7. एक वाक्य में “conjunction” दो पदों , दो पद समूह को या
दो वाक्यों को जोड़ने के ललए प्रयोग करते है. उपरोक्त वाक्यों में
‘since’ दो वाक्यों को जोड़ने के ललए प्रयोग ककया गया है.
To identify a “conjunction” in a sentence is very simple.
A conjunction is used to join either two words, two
phrases or two sentences. Here ‘since’ is used to join
two sentences.

8.  Rajesh left yesterday, I haven’t seen him since.
 Rajesh promoted twice he had joined since.
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में “since” एक “adverb” जैसा प्रयोग ककया
गया है.
In above sentences ‘since’ is used as an “adverb”.

9. In above sentences ‘since’ is used as an “adverb”. To
identify this, is very simple. After ‘since’ we do not have
any other word.
First sentence tells since when I haven’t seen Rajesh.
Second sentence tells since when he got promoted
twice.

10. उपरोक्त वाक्यों में ‘since’ एक “adverb” के रूप में प्रयोग ककया गया
है. वाक्य में ‘since’ के बाद कोई अन्य पद का प्रयोग नही ककया गया
है. यही “adverb” की पहचान है.
पहला वाक्य में ‘since’ मैं कब से राजेश को नही देखा उस अवधि बताने
के ललए प्रयोग ककया गया है.
वैसे ही दूसरा वाक्य में राजेश कब से दो बार प्रमोशन पाया है, यह थपष्ट
करने के ललए ‘since’ का प्र;योग ककये है.
