1. Analysis Of Three Digipaks
For me to create my own digipack I have to do a
lot of research on existing digipacks to give me
an idea and insight into what I’m actually
making. I’ve tried to look at artists that are of a
similar genre to Emily which is Dubstep.
2. • As our artists has taken a great deal of inspiration from Katy
B and we’ve also covered one of her songs I thought it
would be best to start with her work. What I liked from this
is the location it was shot in. Katy is standing in the middle
of a road with the pictured edited so that the blue’s and
purple’s stand out more. I think this choice of location is
very effective as it represents what dupstep/urban music is
about so it’s very relatable to the audience. This is
something I would like to take as inspiration for my
digipack; it’s simple and consistent so the back and the
front of the digipack interlink but it is also very current and
promotes Katy B as an artist.
3. • The next digipack I came cross was for Tinie Tempah’s
Disc-Overy. What I liked about Tinie Tempah’s artwork
are the colours. The pink, black and purple stand out
and the editing used to make it seem futuristic. The
triangle is something you see at both the front and
back making them link. I like the fact that he has the
cityscape edited onto his jacket with the lights shining
directly on it again linking back to perhaps his love for
where he came from which is something I want to
include in my digipack; use of urban yet natural
scenery.
4. • Rita Ora’s digipack titled Ora is one of the
most effective I’ve discussed so far. This is
because I believe the promotion done for this
seen as though Rita Ora is a new artists is
something I want to incorporate into my own
work. The image is a close up of Rita’s face
which is this first thing your eyes are drawn to.
The background is also white and she is
looking directly at the camera which makes
her stand out more.
