Biography of Michael T. Bright

1. Michael T. Bright is a senior executive with 14 years of P&L leadership
experience running organizations with revenues from $30M to $350M.
Bright led several global companies and has more than 17 years experience
leading business operations in Europe and Asia Pacific. He has been
involved in over 65 M&A transactions and directly orchestrated eight
acquisitions, two turnarounds, one internal start-up, and numerous post-deal
integrations. He is passionate about revitalizing underperforming
organizations and driving favorable ROIC to stakeholders while ensuring
sustainable top-line growth. As President of an Asian-based organization, he
led an aggressive internal start-up in which he grew revenues 18x and
delivered more than $190M in profit.
Bright currently is President and CEO of Bright International Consulting LLC –
a senior executive, boutique consultancy providing expertise to private equity
and strategic buyers on acquisitions, divestitures, post-merger integrations,
global growth strategies, and channels-to-market in emerging economies. His
offerings include advising CEOs, serving in an interim senior executive
capacity, and/or as an active board member
Bright served as President and COO of Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc.
where he held P&L responsibility for a $300M business unit. Over ten
quarters, he grew profits 3x and delivered more than $155M EBIT on 34%
revenue growth.
Prior to Chart, Bright was Global VP for a business unit of Tyco International
Ltd. He formed and led a team of senior executives charged to transform a
$3B business from a regional mindset to a global business model.
At Tyco, Bright also served for 9 years as President of its Flow Control
business unit in Asia, where he held P&L responsibility for a $350M division.
In this internal start-up role, he grew annual revenues from $20M to $350M
and EBIT from break-even to $45M. He turned a $3.5M loss into a $6.5M
profit of an acquired Japanese manufacturer on the brink of bankruptcy.
Earlier in his career, Bright served for 13 years in various sales & marketing
roles at Durco International (now Flowserve) including leadership positions
as: Director of Sales & Marketing, Asia Pacific and Marketing Manager for
EMEA. He finished his career at Durco as its Managing Director, Asia Pacific
where he held P&L responsibility for a $30M subsidiary.
Bright is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He completed MBA course work at
the University of Dayton and Portland State University. He received his
Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Economics from Marietta College after
completing 2 years of undergraduate courses and officer training at the U.S.
Coast Guard Academy.
Mike is married, has two grown children and resides near Houston, Texas.
He enjoys baseball, tennis, international travel, and time with his family.
