Video Support for Teaching & Learning Equipment HDD (Hard Disc Drive) Camcorders for Staff/Faculty use 2 Panasonic SDR-H85  80 GB built in Hard Drive  Standard Definition  Compression Formats: MPEG-2, MPEG-4AVC/H.264  Output: USB, Component • Request through Media Database • Indicate if camcorder should be sent to Chris Boland for transfer • Lab Techs deliver & setup camcorder & tripod (limited in class support)

Video Support for Teaching & Learning Equipment HDD (Hard Disc Drive) Camcorders for Staff/Faculty use 2 Sony HDR-XR550V  240 GB built in Hard Drive  High Definition (1080i)  Compression Formats: MPEG-4AVC/H.264 AVCHD, MPEG-2  Output: USB, HDMI, Component • Request made through special arrangement w/ Chris Boland • Primarily used for special events/productions 5 Canon MiniDV Camcorders are available for checkout in the Library (tapes not supplied). Students can check out for 48 hours.
  3. 3. Video Support for Teaching & Learning Production • Recording on location (classroom, office, theatre, off-campus) • Editing & Post Production (graphics, titles, sound/music) • Multiple delivery formats (Disc, WMV, QT, Stream) • Library Example (streaming link)

Video Support for Teaching & Learning Streaming • Submit videos to Chris Boland • Videos should not be longer than 2 hours • Videos will be converted to Windows Media Video & uploaded to Streaming Server. • URL will be e-mailed & a link within BlackBoard will be added if requested • Mac users must download Flip4 Mac plugin for Quicktime (link) or install Real Player

Video Support for Teaching & Learning Streaming Copyright Policy• Educational Titles only (we cannot transfer & stream à la Netflix)• Consent from Video Publisher must be obtained through the Library• Send requests to Paul Jenkins, Director of the Library, paul_jenkins@mail.msj.edu• Include: • Video title, publishing company • Seek to stream all or part of the video? • How long the video will be needed • Number of students who will view it• Library will cover costs if possible. Otherwise, charged to the Department
