ACTIVITY
1. The story is set in Spirit Lake, USA. With the help of an Atlas locate Spirit
Lake in the map of the United States.
2. Read page 2 of the book and match the word or phrase with the correct
definition
3. Watch the first part of the video. Then, discuss:
– Why is Spirit Lake a suitable area for wind energy?
– Explain the main features of the wind-power programme developed in Spirit
Lake school district
– The school district saves 140,000 $ a year with this programme. What is this
money used for?
2. 4. Explain how the wind-turbines work, using a poster/display
5. Play the second part of the video. Then, discuss.
