2. Before I started the
MCBS Program, I was an
IT professional in the
education industry for
over ten years.
3. I enjoyed what I did, but
honestly became
complacent and
ultimately found myself
unemployed.
4. I was also a part-time entrepreneur, running a fledgling
graphic design firm along with my wife.
5. I had always thought I
would “be my own boss”
and often told my friends
I would retire by the age
of 30.
6. So, in my late thirties I decided to really take a step of
faith and become a full-time entrepreneur.
7. But then many of my
clients expressed the
need for more services
such as web
development, video
creation and editing.
8. I realized that as my clients’ needs increased, my
knowledge of the industry had to increase as well.
9. Because of that I tried to “self-
teach” myself some of the new
media technologies just as I
had in the past when I taught
myself most of the tools I use
in graphic design.
10. Because of that I learned that
while tools such as Lynda.com
were beneficial, I felt the need to
really search for a more
structured learning
environment.
11. Because of that I made the decision to go back to school
and continue my education.
12. I researched the local colleges in my area to decide what school
would be the best choice and if I could afford to go back to school.
13. Until finally I decided to go back to school online and remembered seeing
advertisements about Full Sail and made the decision to take another step of faith
and apply for Full Sail and financial aid.
14. And ever since I decided
to pursue my passion for
media, I can honestly say
I have never been
happier.
15. I am excited about the journey that I am on and I look
forward to where this chapter of my life story takes me.
