day of October
Romans conquered the Celts and kept this tradition, which spread
to the Western World

“Allhallowmas”—mass of all the hallowed
Night before this mass was called “Allhallowe’en” or “All Hallow’s
Eve”
So… it became Halloween
4. TYPICAL FESTIVITIES
Trick or Treating
Dressing Up
Decorating and carving Jack-o-Lanterns
Visiting haunted attractions (houses, buildings, etc.)
Telling ghost stories
Watching horror films
5. WHY THESE FESTIVITIES?
The Celts believed dressing up would scare away the spirits of the
dead who were roaming the earth on All Hallows' Eve

They also brought food to the edge of town and left it there,
hoping the spirits would eat that food and decide to not raid the
village
