Difference Between Traditional And Traditional Education
The advancement in technology has introduced a new education program that creates diversity in the
learning systems. Today, many institutions of higher learning are or have introduced an online
program that allows students all over the world to pursue their academic dreams using their
computers. While this is an important innovative idea, most colleges and universities still maintain
the traditional classroom setup where students interact with the educator on a face–to–face basis.
Apparently, both programs achieve the objective of the education system which is to provide
knowledge and skills to the learners. However, the two have multiple differences that make each
unique and favored by some students than the other. Therefore, this essay examines the differences
and similarities between the on online education and traditional education. The traditional and
online educational programs are similar and different in their use of learning materials, teacher
instructions, student assessment, and assignments.
Firstly, educational materials such as textbooks are an important component of learning. Apparently,
these resources are significant irrespective of the learning mode assumed by the students. Notably,
both distance learners and traditional classroom attendees use either textbooks or online resources
accessible through online libraries. In each case, students have online access to virtue libraries
through student portals that provide academic sources such as journals and online

Co Operative Education And Traditional Education
"Unlike other subjects that may require work and effort to understand, people tend to think they
know what education is. It is familiar topic: a word in the daily use. It's all around us. We go to
college or university to get educated. We entrust our children to schools in the belief that they will
become knowledgeable and skilled" (Wood 11). Evidently, education is a long–term process, which
almost all people must experience in life. So that, the choices associated with major, future job or
kind of programs are controversial problems in general public, especially the issue of whether or not
Co–operative (Co–op) education is better than traditional (Non Co–op) programs. Additionally, it is
also implied that Co–operative program is known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As evidence of this, according to Learning to Learn, "College teachers have expressed frustration
about attendance in class, uncompleted reading assignments, and student focus on grades rather than
learning. Student surveys indicate that courses are not interesting, that students fail to recognize the
value of what they are learning, and that many faculty rely too heavily on lectures for transmitting
information" (Wirth and Perkins 2–3). Moreover, the rote learning style, which is the memorization
of information based on repetition, though might not understand basic content deeply or may
immediately forget the facts they have learned after the test is the harmful disease that so many
students are struggling. Contrary to conventional education programs, it is implied that "Evidently,
enabling students to experience the more theoretical world of school in tandem with the more
practical world of work has the potential of increasing some of the positive outcomes of education"
(Jeela 2). In other words, due to integrated learning model of co–op educational structure, the
student can review knowledge what is gained in class more effective than studying what were taken
note. It is true that beside classroom lectures, Co–op program allows students to work at the
company to get credit. This is mandatory if the learners choose the curriculum with Co–op course,
the period will be interspersed with durations of student lectures. Moreover,

Even though Lacking in quality–Successful on–ground instruction does not always translate to
successful online instruction. If facilitators are not properly trained in online delivery and
methodologies, the success of the online program will be compromised. An instructor must be able
to communicate well in writing and in the language in which the course is offered. An online
program will be weakened if its facilitators are not adequately prepared to function in the Virtual
Classroom., Nowadays, education becomes one of the important things in human life. Most people
are aware of the necessity of a higher education. In this present day with the technology there are
more options to obtain education. Besides attending traditional schools, people can get an online
education. Although there is a similarity between online education and traditional education, the
differences between them are more noteworthy. because Level Playing Field– When you enroll in an
online course, you retain a considerable amount of anonymity. Certain discriminating factors such as
age, physical appearance, race, gender, and even disabilities are largely absent from online

schools require their students to be physically present in a classroom. However, students having
online education can attend classes without going to school. That is because online courses are given
virtually. Therefore, there are no

Montessori vs. Traditional Education Essay
Education is very important especially in this day and age. What school one attends and how they
perceive school to be is a huge factor in one's life success. There has been research done in the past
few years proving that students who receive a Montessori education will prosper academically more
so than those who receive a traditional education (Ryniker and Shoho, 2001). Traditional schools
typically follow teacher based philosophies and the Montessori education is student centered. On
average, children enjoy student based philosophy classrooms. Therefore, they are much more in
tuned to what they are learning and that benefits their educational career. Having fun while learning
is the key to keeping children engaged.

Many people think of it as "controlled chaos" (Kramer, 1976). Montessori resources are divided into
four categories: practical life, sensorial, academic and cultural/artistic supplies (Scotty, 2009).
Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, City University of New York academic researchers conducted
research about success rates of public Montessori students (Schapiro, 2002). The research conducted
proves the children who attend Montessori public schools are better in certain subjects (Schapiro,
2002). Montessori is also very beneficial to children with dyslexia, because they use phonics to
teach. Attending a Montessori school is also an educational advantage for children because they
have the opportunity to start as early as the age of three (Schapiro, 2002).
According to the study conducted by Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, research was found that
students who attended a Montessori public school did significantly better in math and social studies.
Their overall GPA was not significantly higher than others but males received higher scores in
science, while females received higher scores in math, compared to other students who did not
attend a Montessori school (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori graduates also received higher scores
overall on the ACT mathematics test, but lower on the ACT reading test (Schapiro, 2002).
Montessori students also tend to fail fewer classes and take more honors and advanced

Traditional Education vs. Online Education
Nowadays, education is becoming one of the fundamental things in a human lifetime; most people
are trying to achieve a higher education. As technology develops considerably, it has bearings on
every area of our life, even in the way of education. The development of technology has a large
impact on education. Before this progression of technology, the education system was only
traditional. Currently, the education system has been changed. The development of technology has
allowed the education system online along with traditionally. Traditional and online instructions are
both great ways to learn. While both types of instructions have the same purpose of educating
students having good skills about everything, but there are some significant differences between
them such as flexibility, learning the course content, communication, and the cost.
The first distinction between traditional education and online education is flexibility. The motivation
of flexible learning is offering students choices about when, where and how they learn. It assists
students to acquire skills and characteristics to adapt successfully to shift. Traditional education
requires a particular place or environment for learning and instruction. It limits the number of
students that can study at the same time and it would depend on the size of class and education
institution. Moreover, traditional

Online vs. Traditional Education Have you ever had the opportunity to take online classes? Have
you even heard of online classes? If you haven't, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Online
education is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional education. It is offering more
flexibility for students and providing individuals with better opportunities for postsecondary
education. Even though traditional education has been the only form of education for hundreds of
years, online education offers a new and improved style of learning. When people think of
education, they think of a classroom filled with desks, paper, books, and other students. After all,
this is how humans have been taught for generations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In traditional education, everything is face–to–face. The students interact with the teacher directly
and the discussion occurs only in the classroom. This face–to–face interaction allows the students to
build social skills and form relationships with other classmates. The only downfall there is with this
method is that once the class is over, it can be difficult to contact the instructor if a question or
problem would arise. In online education, communication is much different. Students can be
thousands of miles apart and live in different time zones. Therefore there cannot be any face–to–face
interaction. Instead, online education relies on instant messaging through a forum. It is very similar
to a chat room. This is where the majority of the communication takes place. Students can
communicate with the instructor and with each other by posting messages and waiting for a reply.
This makes it very easy to get a hold of other people, no matter the time of day. The downfall with
this method is that sometimes it can take a while before you receive a reply. However, online
courses require a certain amount of participation so the question will be addressed before too long.
Many people question the amount of work that online students do. Some even say that online
colleges should not be as credible as traditional universities. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The Importance Of Distance Education Over Traditional...
Approximately 7 billion people live in the world and the number is getting higher every day. How
many people have internet access? Roughly 3 billion people have access to the internet. No wonder
online education is on the rise. But why? What is so wrong with a traditional education. Why are
more colleges offering online courses? Why are more kids being homeschooled? Even though you
won't meet a lot of new people, experience a lot of different cultures, or even become that social
butterfly, for people who do not function well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose
distance education over traditional education. For stay at home parents or even single parents, it
might be hard to get an education on your schedule. For military families, you may move all over,
going from school to school, never really continuing what your learning from school to school.
Distance education can keep you connected to your school anywhere you are. First, for people who
do not function very well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education
over traditional education. Distance education, or homeschooling, allows for more individualized
instruction, based on the students needs. It isn't as structured as a traditional education. According to
Redford, Battle, and Bielick (20707), the most important reason parents are homeschooling was the
environment of other schools. Other reasons include providing religious instruction, provide a
nontraditional approach to the students education, and to provide moral instruction (p. 12). In public
or private school, you have no control over what your child is learning and how they are learning it.
With distance education, or homeschooling, you can. Are you afraid they will miss out on the
opptunities that traditional schools provide. A friend of mine home schools her children after a few
years of being in a public school system. They belong to a local co–op where all the other distance
education students and families get together and play sports, interact, even have a prom for high
school students. Your student can now participate in distance education and get the same opportunity
as a traditional education. Additionally, for stay at home parents or single

Homeschooling And A Traditional Public Education
Parenting does not come with a guide, but the decisions made by parents are essential to shaping a
child's future. One of the most significant decisions to be made is choosing the child's educational
plans. The only options that are available are homeschooling or a traditional public education. While
there are a few options, the choice has to be assessed properly. The dilemmas placed before parents
are the lack of knowledge for an education taught within a home setting or the lack of a proper
environment within a traditional school setting.
There are many facets of homeschooling that people may not know. In order to understand the
concept of homeschooling, it is important to define the term and point out its origin. Homeschooling
is a nonpublic school directed mainly by the parent of guardian. Formal learning began at home with
parents teaching their children domesticated skills and morals. The home–based education system
changed in 1642 when the Massachusetts Bay Colony passed a law requiring children to be taught to
read by parents. As time progressed, laws were made to change the teaching environment. Families
were required to form grammar schools. Public school became mandatory in the 19th century when
individual states started passing compulsory–schooling laws. These laws require parents to send
their children to a public or state accredited private or parochial school. The majority of the states
required children to begin school at ages five to seven years old and

Between 2007 and 2011 the MOOC really took off in Canada, Stephen Downes, Alec Couros, Dave
Cormier, and George Siemens were the major developments of the MOOC (Stacey, 2014).
Originally, the MOOC was open for everyone, credit–seeking and non–credit seeking and offered
different courses that ranged from true content lessons with interpretive lessons (Stacey, 2014).
In 2011, Stanford Engineering professors were able to offer the school's three most popular
computer science course online to more than 160,000 students in over 190 countries (Stacey, 214).

Some low–quality indicators they found included: monitoring post–course, allows discussion
forums and student support, allows the use of different presentation formats, and individual
feedback is provided (Baldomero and Lopez, 2015). These are the qualities that can be looked at
when discussing MOOCs versus traditional classes and how to affect the class will be for the
majority of students. The closer a class is to meet all the good qualities while limiting or addressing
the low qualities the more likely students will be to succeed in that course.
Provisional analysis of online education and face–to–face traditional education has become a long
history. From early 1990, it becomes very consistent and seems to have limited significant
differences in education system outcomes achieved by students who are engaged in the traditional
education system and online education system (last name, year). Online courses offer flexibility and
compatibility. It is a great alternative for the student who is busy with daily tasks and wants to
pursue their education for future use. Online classes are compatible with the schedule and allow

Ask Not How You Can Educate the System; Ask How the System Can Educate You
The military is for a warrior and college is for the worker! For many generations that ethos has been
the traditional mindset marketed to the youth of the United States. But today's up and comers are
unsure of whether they should go into the armed forces or join what Paulo Freire describes as a
"misguided system" of education (Freire 1). Some students have been citing the need for educational
reform in response to the age old question "should I go to college?" Too distracted by the weight of
the reform problems, many haven't realized that there's a reasonable solution. While 1960's Paulo
Freire and 1990's Mark Edmundson both agree that they wanted students to revolt ... Show more

Evidence collected in the "The Cost of Access: Racial Disparities in Student Loan Burdens of Young
Adults" tells us that "In 2012, 71% of graduates from all four–year institutions in the United States
had federal loans, and the average loan amount was $25,500" (Kim et al. 99). That journal, written
by students of the university of Maryland and the university of Georgia, also recommends that "In
order to create greater access to college for young adults from Black and other racial/ethnic minority
families there appears to be a greater necessity for some form of financial counseling that explains
the true cost of attending college, the availability of various sources of financial aid, and the
importance of planning ahead to start saving for college early" (Kim et al. 112). The upside of
government assisted tuition is that it is free and blind to the color of a student's skin. As long as they
can handle the Air Force culture, their education is on the Government. Now that the student has the
means to get a proper education, they must identify the method of attaining it.
The great thing about an enlisted military education is its employment of both traditional and
nontraditional methods. One new method the USAF is implementing is the credentialing of their

Online education provides an individual with much more flexibility than the traditional education.
Students that take online courses are provided with the facility to work along with carrying on their
studies. Many students with great potential are not able to continue their studies just because they
are not able to afford the fee and other expenses associated with education. Online education brings
students back to the world of academia by providing them with flexible schedules. The students can
adjust their studies according to their work schedule rather than having to adjust their work schedule
according to their studies. Thus, an individual having online education is more empowered as
compared to the students of traditional education. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

achievable in the traditional lectures. Traditional classroom lectures are more demanding both for
the instructor and the students. Instructors have to attend all questions of the students and yet make
sure that the lecture is delivered within the time allotted for it. Students also cannot afford to be
inattentive for a moment or they will miss the information. However, the facility to communicate
with the peers is obviously one of the pros of the traditional education. Students can discuss the
concepts they didn't understand with other students after the class. In addition to that, traditional
education is more effective in terms of development of students' skills as it provides them with an
opportunity to perform all the tests and experiments in the labs that they read in the theory.

education. In online education, schools don't have to arrange capacious

Difference Between Online Education And Traditional Education
In this modern society, education is an essential part of human life, and thanks to technology, we are
now able to receive a proper education through the internet. For centuries the only way of receiving
a formal education was attending physically to the school, but nowadays due to technology students
are able to receive a college degree without the necessity of being physically in the school. Online
education is becoming more common, and as a result, the student population is dividing in two
different opinions on education. Some think the traditional method is better, while others start to
believe that the modern method is the best. Although both of these are similar in numerous ways,
there are advantages and disadvantages to each one. The differences and similarities between
traditional college education and online college education are pronounced and they merit further
scrutiny.
In my opinion, what distinguishes traditional education from online education is the environment in
which the student is surrounded. In traditional education every individual has the ability to interact
and socialize with his classmates, professors, and other members of the college. The facilities
provide the mindset for the student to learn, and the easily approachable teachers which can clear
any question or doubt at the instant. While in online education the student has class discussions and
chats with his classmates, all of it is through the internet, the same applies with the professor, if

three articles compared were as follows: article one by Weidman, & Stein (2003) titled
"Socialization of doctoral students to the academic norms was a study." Article two by Baker &

in the subject addressed. However, it was also apparent that there were differences in each article.

Traditional education and online education are two ways to receive an education. Traditional
education is the oldest means of learning but online education has evolved and spread among the

Juggling in the class is a tool that can be used to prove that any person can be taught something, but

The average lifespan for humans continue to expand everyday, and within that time frame learning

student that learns in only a singular manner may be classified as having a mis–educative experience
because a teacher typically only shows a singular way to solve a problem such as in mathematics,
view a poem in literature, or interpret data in science. The reason for this being a negative process is
students may not have the ability to adapt to the lessons that they are learning in a style that is more
suited to their needs. Throughout the time spent juggling in class, what I have began to notice
includes the concepts that one has a chance to learn in an incorrect manner; however, they neglect to

On–Line Education versus Traditional Education
Introduction/Thesis
Online education has rapidly become a popular alternative to traditional education, due to the
flexible nature of the courses and also the fact that the online learning environment may not require
additional expenses. However, some people find traditional learning to be more advantageous than
online learning. The traditional learning environment provides some people with more support
throughout their scholastic career. When looking at online education versus a tradition education,
one must consider a few things: flexibility, the social aspect, and personal discipline, and financial
obligations. This paper will provide a comprehensive look at the advantages of online education
versus traditional education.
Online Education Online Education is a growing form of education for both college level and K
through 12 learning. In today's reality, it can be difficult to attend traditional classes. Instead of
attending class at a particular time, the student can log in anytime during the day to read, watch
videos. They can participate in the discussion forum anytime during the day, and assignments are
turned in from the comfort of person's home or work. While obtaining an education online, students
have a more flexible course structure which allows students the time that may be needed to

The Advantages Of Distance Education Vs. Traditional...
Distance education is a unique type of education that is available online. Lessons are given, along
with assignments; assignments are then completed and submitted through the internet. This type of
education is an alternative to traditional education. It is not for everyone; however, it has become
popular among people who work or stay at home. While distance education has its defects overall,
it's a great way to start or finish post–secondary education. Nevertheless, distance education can
help people who decide to take this step. One of the advantages of distance education is its
convenience; imagine getting a college education without having to move to another city or state.
With online education, you can benefit from that and many other things. Online education is a great
way to get educated if one is unable or not ready to move. I am benefiting from this convenient way
of learning, and so far, it's been great. Besides its convenience, distance education also has a better
price. The cost of distance education is lower than traditional education. Tuition itself can result up
to four hundred dollars cheaper online than on a campus. While four hundred dollars may not seem
like a big difference after a while, four hundred dollars can accumulate into a lot of money. Apart
from tuition one can also save on other things like gasoline and parking fees. Since the educating is

would always have face–to–face interaction with his/her classmates as well as with the instructors.
Some students would prefer the more instant feedback and expressions as well as to read body
language of those they are interacting with. They would have hands on experiences and learning
available to him/her. This learning environment would also provide extracurricular activities such
as, sporting events and book fairs. For most, this way has been our only type of experience with
education and for some students; a deviation from this method of learning can cause anxiety, fear,
and frustration. Obviously someone who does not adapt to change easily should probably stick with
the traditional education. On the other hand, disadvantages some may see with traditional education
would be cost and flexibility. With traditional education a student could easily endure more
expenses such as, cost of transportation for gas to and from school, bus passes, or parking passes.
Furthermore, the cost of on campus housing, or food could be a very costly expense. When living on
campus, students tend to eat out a great deal and

Essay on Traditional vs Distance Education
Education is an essential element in societies throughout the world. For many years education has
been provided in classrooms on campuses worldwide, but there has been a change made to the
conventional method of classroom learning. With the advancements in technology, education has
been restructured so that it may be accessible to everyone through taking courses online. Distance
learning takes place when the teacher and student are separated from one another due to their
physical location and technology is used to communicate instructions to the student and to
communicate feedback to the instructor. The virtual classroom is one of the various forms of
technology used as an alternative to the traditional classroom settings. Other ... Show more content

According to Fox (1998), what is in dispute is not whether distance education is ideal, but whether it
is good enough to merit a university degree, and whether it is better than receiving no education at
all. He alludes to an argument that states students learn far too little when the teacher's personal
presence is not available because the student has more to learn from the teacher than the texts. Thus,
in order for the student to be taught well, does the teacher have to be personally present?
Many advocates of distance education are ardent about their venue and very critical of traditional
education. These online education devotees view traditional classes as being unchangeable,
inflexible, teacher–centered, and static (Fitzpatrick 2001). However, proponents argue that many
simply would not be able to get a degree without distance education—the full–time police officer,
the mother of four, or the individual living in a rural area approximately 100–200 miles away from
any educational institution. Many individuals desperately need distance education courses because
they "have jobs, families, civic responsibilities. They are thirsting. But some want us to say, 'Sorry
you don't want to drink the water there, but we can't bottle our fresh spring water, so you'll have to
come here or drink nothing" (Fox, 1998, p. 5). Proponents contend that distance education is "as
good as" traditional education. In other words, learning occurs

Traditional Education Is Better
Education is the process of acquiring general knowledge, developing the people's powers of
reasoning and judgment which prepares them for life. The world has been developing especially
with technologies such as: the computers, the Internet, and advanced electronic devices are
becoming essential in our daily life. This led to the education, development also, which changed the
way of reading, writing, and manipulate numbers. There are many types of education, and while the
popularity is the traditional education, online education is becoming popular also. Online education

Traditional Versus Progressive Teaching Who loves school? What makes school enjoyable? Is it the
lectures, worksheets, and tests, or the group projects, in–class discussions and high–tech games?
When thinking over the answers to these questions, many people unknowingly state a preference for
a more progressive teaching style. A progressive teaching style includes student participation and a
large variety of modern inventions which allow more students to enjoy learning. Students receive a
more complete education through enjoyment in the learning when they have the ability to set a
custom pace and are able to learn according to their preferred learning style. It has become
increasingly apparent to many educators how disconnected students have become from the learning
environment when lectures are the sole teaching method. This discovery has led several instructors
to develop new methods to educate the next generation of students for their benefit, not just for the
ease and convenience of the teacher. To figure out the best balance for the future of education, like
anything else, one must first understand the history of education and where schooling originated.
Schooling began with a traditional style of lectures and progressed to more modern teaching
methods, which have proven to be more beneficial to a learner's future, than the traditional practices
in a teacher–centered classroom. Education is the foundation for the future. If educational practices

With the increase in use of the Internet, more people are online to make purchases, research
information and now gain an online education. Online education is on the rise. People are choosing
to get an online education more so now because people are busier than ever and more jobs are
requiring a college education. Also with these larger companies closing and laying off employees,
people who once had a job are now faced with the challenge of looking for a new jobs–sometimes
with no skills to offer a new employer. There are more people who have waited until later in life to

This anxiety is what you call social phobia. Phobias are the single largest disorder of all anxiety
cases of phobic disorders. Anxiety disorders involve fierce worry and self–consciousness about
everyday social livings. They often worry about fear of being judged by others or behaving in a way
that might cause embarrassment or lead to ridicule such as harm. An online education stops all
phobias and disorders for those that have these health issues. Online provides a cost savings for
students because they do not have to spend the gas to attend a college. There may not be a suitable
college in proximity so by taking online classes you save money by buying less gas. Also online
classes will save the mileage and damage on your vehicle. If the college is a long distance away
there will be more miles put on your vehicle, need to keep up better maintenance and more frequent
oil changes. What I am saying it cost less to take online courses than it does to go to a junior college

Homeschooling And Traditional Classroom Education
Compare and Contrast Homeschooling and Traditional Classroom Education
People can choose to get homeschooling or not in the 1970s, some famous writer started write
relative innovation at the same time ("Homeschooling 101", 2012). There are now more than two
million children being homeschooled in the U.S., with the percentage rapidly increasing by 7
percent to 15 percent each year, according to the National Home Education Research Institute
("Homeschooling 101," 2012). Maybe we can find that homeschooling is becoming more popular
than traditional school, but the truth is, most children still choose to study in traditional school. We
could not ignore that it is hard and laborious for parents to teach their own child at home, although
the child could learn a great deal under the homeschooling. If they send their child to traditional
school, more time could be saved and the parent could improve themselves and be an example for
their child. For instance, participating in the activities with other kids and learning from them for
comparison. Furthermore, attending traditional school could save a ton of money for kids to use it
on other skill learning. Whatever the parent decides to do either the homeschooling or send their
children to the traditional school, there is no denying that children can learn things. From textbook
knowledge, on average, home schoolers score at or above the national average on standardized
measurement. (Distefano,

Non Traditional Higher Education
A Non–Traditional Higher Education At my age of thirty two years–old, I keep hearing how I am
not taking the traditional route of going to school to earn a degree. This statement baffles me
because tradition is not always a good thing. In some aspects tradition breeds laziness, and corners
your personal views on any situation to fit a certain narrative or logic dictated by those that came
before you. My first cause for going with the non–traditional route to school is that I'm tired of
being crushed under the weight of an industry and greedy men. Second, I do not have anyone to
support other than myself; I have never been married or have children. Last, I feel I'm better suited
at my age to passionately learn, and pursue a degree in Economics. ... Show more content on

Being part of Generation Y I've had faster access to more information than any other generation

answering whatever is being questioned. Much like myself I have broad interests but like to be able
to define myself by what I am doing. I believe it will be the best way to utilize my imagination, and
life experience coupled with a traditional education to answer the questions I have about why the
world works the way it does. Because some of my heroes are men like Leo Tolstoy, Allan Watts,
Chuck D, Joe Rogan, and Noam Chomsky; I was always going to be one of those men that always

The Advantages Of Traditional Education Vs. Online Education
There are a lot of reasons why Traditional education is better. It isn't because it is what we are
accustomed to but due to its promising benefits already shown that is offered to everyone. The
chances of improvement in learning at this system would still likely happen because similarly to
online education, it updates as well with the media it uses therefore it is ahead online no matter
what.
Since traditional education means attending 'face–to–face' classes held at schools, we need to head
there physically. One of the things that make it great is because it promotes our physical needs such
as by simply walking, looking for transportations, going upstairs, and following proper postures. It

studies, it will lack due to the limitations it possess in offering much broader information unlike in
traditional where in each day you can learn a whole lot. Also at online education, it may save a lot of

Online Education Vs Traditional Education
In the present world, there are a lot of options for a student to choose for his education. Each and
every student learning technique are different and learn differently and in today's world of
increasing technology, the question will be whether to offer classes or take up classes online, but
rather how to implement them effectively and efficiently. Hence a student must have to weigh a
huge list of pros and cons before they choose one of the two options, since the means of education
for these are different. Students have an opportunity to plan their own study time, if they choose
online classes instead of other way round where the university will decide the class time or lecture
time. Online classes can be taken at their own pace, sitting at their own home or at any place they
feel comfortable, on the contrary students should physically attend classes as per the time prescribed
by the professor, live near to the campus. In the online classes there is more flexibility than
traditional classroom because you can do your coursework any time of the day or night without
having a set schedule when you have to do your coursework. There are so many people that are
choosing to further their education by taking online courses instead of traditional classroom because
of their busy work schedules. Professors teaching online education have set hours that they are on to

In 2011, I made the decision to get a college education and expand my career choices. I believe
having an education is very important, if you want to be successful in your life. When looking at
which school I was going to attend, I had to look at all aspects of my education. One of the first
questions I asked myself was should I attend an online school or go to a traditional school? There
two choices when looking to obtain a college education; the choices are online education or a
traditional education. Online and traditional educations have many similarities but their differences

Just as important are the differences in the instruction methods. Online courses are primarily self–
taught, with students completing lessons and assignments at their own pace and submitting their
work through a website or by e–mail. If you are a visual learner and if you have good reading
retention, an online class can work out well for you. Online institutions usually use advanced
computer software to provide immediate feedback for online quizzes. Receiving immediate
feedback allows students to understand their weaknesses and strengths, and plan their studies
accordingly. (Withers, 2012) Online learning builds on the knowledge students already have
allowing them to form concrete associations to new information, which improves retention.
Traditional course instruction gives students opportunities for hands–on learning, such as science
experiments and real times responses from instructors or students. Students who learn better with
pen and paper and teacher interaction will do best. While computers are difficult to avoid, students
are able to reduce their experience with computers by receiving a traditional on–campus instruction.
Students will take tests on campus, the test are often hand–graded. Instructors will provide students
with the test results usually over the next four or five days of class. . Traditional classrooms are not

Online Education Vs Traditional Education
The traditional face–to–face method of learning provides a better learning environment, considering
the fact that students can interaction with the instructor and their peers, whereas in web–based
education students have to teach themselves. Online instructors send information solely through
online exercises such as planned web posts, discussion topic, or modules. In contrast, in the
classroom experience a student is provided the opportunity to interact one–on–one with the teacher.
Additionally, the traditional method of education typically empowers each person with the ability to
sit in a classroom and still excel at their own pace. Some students also lack the technological skills
needed to use new online educational forms which causes some students to struggle.
The Internet has revolutionized the way people are educated and impacts every aspect of society.
According to the New York Times, "Bill Gates, whose foundation funds a lot of education programs,
predicted last month that in five years much of college education will have gone online. The self–
motivated learner will be on the Web, Mr. Gates said, speaking at the Techonomy conference in
Lake Tahoe. College needs to be less place–based." Both, traditional and online courses are held in
different environments, there are many difficulties that become apparent in holding each to the same
standard. Just like traditional classes, students receive the same knowledge as a classroom–based

Traditional Education : Stick With Traditional Learning
Stick With Traditional Learning Debates between the validity of online learning gets more popular
as the days go on. Most high schools offer online classes to students wanting to receive a class not
offered at the school. Some students take online classes in order to get ahead in their college careers,
or the student holds a grudge against the school's choice of a teacher. Traditional learning has been
used for decades, and will continue to be used in future generations. Most schools offer online
classes, but will encourage the student to focus on a traditional class. Online courses seem to have
benefits, but none of these benefits match up with a regular class. Many students find it easier to
understand the work and focus on what they are doing when put in a classroom. Students should
stick with face–to–face learning because it helps the student to socialize and work better with others,
the student does not have to worry about disciplining themselves, and with the student teaching the
material becomes harder to learn. Learning in a classroom teaches the students to work with their
peers and helps prepare them for a working environment later on in life. After high school, if not
during, students begin to get jobs where they must work with other people. In a traditional
classroom, teachers assign students in groups for group projects where they must talk and discuss
with each other. During an online course, discussion posts are the key communication between
students.

The Traditional Way Of Education By John Dewey
The traditional way of teaching had been debated for a very long time because of the rights given to
teacher and only duties for students. A student had been just following the rules and orders that are
given to him by his teacher and there had never been any question or argument from any student in
this regard. A student is supposed to follow even without knowing the purpose why he is following
and what would be possible outcome. Many teachers think that students are not capable of
understanding the real concept or actual purpose of learning any specific lesson so they must pass
through the process and once they memorize or learn the thing they will soon be able to implement
that. Our traditional system supporters say that learning needs regular routine and tough study is also
a part of learning. Even if you do not the final output of any work or ... Show more content on

Dewey create a rift in two extremes in education i.e. traditional and reformist education. One is
traditional while other is free we can say that it is the difference between relatively organized,
controlled, well–ordered, instructive traditional way education vs. relatively free, at liberty, student–
directed advanced education. Dewey also analyzes old–style schooling for missing in complete
understanding of students and planning set of courses overly focused on content instead of making
efforts in teaching content and making process which is judged by its involvement to the well–being
of personalities and the general public. While on the other hand, advanced education is too much
conservative and takes a free methodology without actually knowing how or why lack of restrictions
can be best useful in schooling. Independence for the sake of freedom is a weak way of life as well
as education there must be some proper reason for this demand. Dewey also says that we need to

Essay about Online Education Versus Traditional Education
With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to
implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is
divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is
better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one
another instead of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be
far more successful.
Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning
through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take
classes online. Bill Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Barbara Means, the study's lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI
International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more
tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more "learning by doing,"
which many students find more engaging and useful.
However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one
another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim
that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates.
Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions,
and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Face–to–face advocates
firmly believe that this kind of interaction is not possible over the Internet; and for many types of
education, e–learning will never meet the potential of live human interaction in the classroom. An
article in the New York Times titled, "Second Thoughts on Online Education," backs up the points
made above. A recent research published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, comes to
the conclusion; "A rush to online education

Should Traditional Education Be At Fault Politically?
We have met the enemy and he is us (Kelly, 1953)! That famous line uttered by Pogo sums up my
feeling about public/ private universities, and the relationship that we have had with for–profit
schools. It has been very easy for us to place the blame on the for–profit sector as causing the
student debt crisis, but in this concept paper I wanted to discuss where traditional education might
be at fault politically. In other words, how were we responsible for helping to create the debt
monster through behavior and policy?
Students enroll in college to learn. This acquiring of knowledge is so important that most schools
like Marshall University have instituted a required general education program to teach composition,
communication, math, natural science, social science, humanities, fine arts, and critical thinking
(GED, 2015). Yet the same universities that make the assumption that students are ignorant in
general education, feel they are sophisticated enough to make major financial decisions that include
assuming several thousand dollars in student debt. It is too easy for students to borrow money and
colleges have embraced that fact. I used to blame the students for their financial misgivings, but
higher education institutions are as much to blame as anyone. We must ask ourselves when the last
time a university said, "we're making enough money so no tuition increase this year."
Students are marketed to relentlessly by banks telling them borrowing is the way to get

College Education Vs Non Traditional Education
Today there is a growing gap between educated and uneducated Americans. The upper–middle class
seem to expect nothing less than a college degree, while lower–income families risk missing a
college education, so they can go straight into the workforce. To get "nontraditional" students on the
path of a college education, it would greatly benefit them and society. To get these students to apply
for college would help to break the cycle of upper–middle class "diversity," allow lower–income
students to start thinking about college, and help to boost the economy.
As pointed out by David Leonhardt, diversity in elite colleges is considered an upper–middle class
student from California and an upper–middle class student from New York sitting in the

Problems Of Traditional American Education
Antonia Darder sets a language in Culture and Power in the Classroom that critiques the traditional
American educational system while challenging teachers to a new thinking of culture and diversity
in the classroom. Using the groundings from several theories, theory and resistance, regimes of
truth, and theory of hegemony, she set the platform of the hidden curriculum that is valued in
traditional public education. She seeks to use several theoretical frameworks to create a bicultural
critical pedagogical approach, which links education to impactful politics. In Culture and Power in
the Classroom, Antonia Darder makes is clear that education matters, but yet more importantly that
all students matter in their educational experience. As educators there needs to be awareness and
consciousness of the hegemonic forces of race, class, culture, ethnicity, gender, and/or ability shape
that inferiority within students. Cultural hegemony is so natural, that even in the classroom students
are immune to the shoddiness of living within the realms of the dominant culture. Darder exposes
the problems of traditional American pedagogy. The conventional liberal and conservative discourse
of nature versus nature do not challenge the structural underachievement of bicultural students. The
use of meritocracy, intelligence testing, track and ability grouping, curriculum, and expectations of
teachers perpetuate the blame of students rather than the structure of traditional American

Traditional Vs. Distance Education : Traditional Education...
Traditional and distance learning are two options to obtaining a higher education. Although both
have great options in providing quality education to prospective students, there are noticeable
dissimilarities in how the education is presented in the classroom environment. Most students find it
difficult to choose which educational option to opt for. Over the years, technology has made it easier
for students to obtain a higher education. Before, busy students often struggle with balancing school
and their personal life. Students can now choose between attending a distance learning school or to
attend a traditional college. Distance learning schools and traditional college are both effective
methods of obtaining a higher education depending on convenience, quality, and learning style.
While both options have similar methods of educating students, they also differ in important features
such as flexibility, communication, and learning process style.
The most important feature of distance learning is that online schools offer flexibility for
prospective students. This allows students the ease of attending class in their own time and the place
of their choosing. Flexibility is very important for students with hectic schedules such as balancing
school, work, and personal life. In fact, studies have shown that online colleges are specifically
designed to cater to busy students. Studies have shown that about 1,000 schools offer online
curriculum using distance learning

Difference Between Traditional And Traditional Education

  • 1. Difference Between Traditional And Traditional Education The advancement in technology has introduced a new education program that creates diversity in the learning systems. Today, many institutions of higher learning are or have introduced an online program that allows students all over the world to pursue their academic dreams using their computers. While this is an important innovative idea, most colleges and universities still maintain the traditional classroom setup where students interact with the educator on a face–to–face basis. Apparently, both programs achieve the objective of the education system which is to provide knowledge and skills to the learners. However, the two have multiple differences that make each unique and favored by some students than the other. Therefore, this essay examines the differences and similarities between the on online education and traditional education. The traditional and online educational programs are similar and different in their use of learning materials, teacher instructions, student assessment, and assignments. Firstly, educational materials such as textbooks are an important component of learning. Apparently, these resources are significant irrespective of the learning mode assumed by the students. Notably, both distance learners and traditional classroom attendees use either textbooks or online resources accessible through online libraries. In each case, students have online access to virtue libraries through student portals that provide academic sources such as journals and online ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Co Operative Education And Traditional Education "Unlike other subjects that may require work and effort to understand, people tend to think they know what education is. It is familiar topic: a word in the daily use. It's all around us. We go to college or university to get educated. We entrust our children to schools in the belief that they will become knowledgeable and skilled" (Wood 11). Evidently, education is a long–term process, which almost all people must experience in life. So that, the choices associated with major, future job or kind of programs are controversial problems in general public, especially the issue of whether or not Co–operative (Co–op) education is better than traditional (Non Co–op) programs. Additionally, it is also implied that Co–operative program is known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As evidence of this, according to Learning to Learn, "College teachers have expressed frustration about attendance in class, uncompleted reading assignments, and student focus on grades rather than learning. Student surveys indicate that courses are not interesting, that students fail to recognize the value of what they are learning, and that many faculty rely too heavily on lectures for transmitting information" (Wirth and Perkins 2–3). Moreover, the rote learning style, which is the memorization of information based on repetition, though might not understand basic content deeply or may immediately forget the facts they have learned after the test is the harmful disease that so many students are struggling. Contrary to conventional education programs, it is implied that "Evidently, enabling students to experience the more theoretical world of school in tandem with the more practical world of work has the potential of increasing some of the positive outcomes of education" (Jeela 2). In other words, due to integrated learning model of co–op educational structure, the student can review knowledge what is gained in class more effective than studying what were taken note. It is true that beside classroom lectures, Co–op program allows students to work at the company to get credit. This is mandatory if the learners choose the curriculum with Co–op course, the period will be interspersed with durations of student lectures. Moreover, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. What Is The Difference Between Online Education And... Even though Lacking in quality–Successful on–ground instruction does not always translate to successful online instruction. If facilitators are not properly trained in online delivery and methodologies, the success of the online program will be compromised. An instructor must be able to communicate well in writing and in the language in which the course is offered. An online program will be weakened if its facilitators are not adequately prepared to function in the Virtual Classroom., Nowadays, education becomes one of the important things in human life. Most people are aware of the necessity of a higher education. In this present day with the technology there are more options to obtain education. Besides attending traditional schools, people can get an online education. Although there is a similarity between online education and traditional education, the differences between them are more noteworthy. because Level Playing Field– When you enroll in an online course, you retain a considerable amount of anonymity. Certain discriminating factors such as age, physical appearance, race, gender, and even disabilities are largely absent from online education classes. , Another difference between the two education styles is flexibility. Traditional schools require their students to be physically present in a classroom. However, students having online education can attend classes without going to school. That is because online courses are given virtually. Therefore, there are no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Montessori vs. Traditional Education Essay Education is very important especially in this day and age. What school one attends and how they perceive school to be is a huge factor in one's life success. There has been research done in the past few years proving that students who receive a Montessori education will prosper academically more so than those who receive a traditional education (Ryniker and Shoho, 2001). Traditional schools typically follow teacher based philosophies and the Montessori education is student centered. On average, children enjoy student based philosophy classrooms. Therefore, they are much more in tuned to what they are learning and that benefits their educational career. Having fun while learning is the key to keeping children engaged. Maria Montessori ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people think of it as "controlled chaos" (Kramer, 1976). Montessori resources are divided into four categories: practical life, sensorial, academic and cultural/artistic supplies (Scotty, 2009). Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, City University of New York academic researchers conducted research about success rates of public Montessori students (Schapiro, 2002). The research conducted proves the children who attend Montessori public schools are better in certain subjects (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori is also very beneficial to children with dyslexia, because they use phonics to teach. Attending a Montessori school is also an educational advantage for children because they have the opportunity to start as early as the age of three (Schapiro, 2002). According to the study conducted by Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, research was found that students who attended a Montessori public school did significantly better in math and social studies. Their overall GPA was not significantly higher than others but males received higher scores in science, while females received higher scores in math, compared to other students who did not attend a Montessori school (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori graduates also received higher scores overall on the ACT mathematics test, but lower on the ACT reading test (Schapiro, 2002). • 9. Traditional Education Vs. Online Education Nahida Sultana Dr. Rachel C. Henderson English 1101 29 October 2015 Traditional Education vs. Online Education Nowadays, education is becoming one of the fundamental things in a human lifetime; most people are trying to achieve a higher education. As technology develops considerably, it has bearings on every area of our life, even in the way of education. The development of technology has a large impact on education. Before this progression of technology, the education system was only traditional. Currently, the education system has been changed. The development of technology has allowed the education system online along with traditionally. Traditional and online instructions are both great ways to learn. While both types of instructions have the same purpose of educating students having good skills about everything, but there are some significant differences between them such as flexibility, learning the course content, communication, and the cost. The first distinction between traditional education and online education is flexibility. The motivation of flexible learning is offering students choices about when, where and how they learn. It assists students to acquire skills and characteristics to adapt successfully to shift. Traditional education requires a particular place or environment for learning and instruction. It limits the number of students that can study at the same time and it would depend on the size of class and education institution. Moreover, traditional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Online vs. Traditional Education Online vs. Traditional Education Have you ever had the opportunity to take online classes? Have you even heard of online classes? If you haven't, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Online education is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional education. It is offering more flexibility for students and providing individuals with better opportunities for postsecondary education. Even though traditional education has been the only form of education for hundreds of years, online education offers a new and improved style of learning. When people think of education, they think of a classroom filled with desks, paper, books, and other students. After all, this is how humans have been taught for generations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In traditional education, everything is face–to–face. The students interact with the teacher directly and the discussion occurs only in the classroom. This face–to–face interaction allows the students to build social skills and form relationships with other classmates. The only downfall there is with this method is that once the class is over, it can be difficult to contact the instructor if a question or problem would arise. In online education, communication is much different. Students can be thousands of miles apart and live in different time zones. Therefore there cannot be any face–to–face interaction. Instead, online education relies on instant messaging through a forum. It is very similar to a chat room. This is where the majority of the communication takes place. Students can communicate with the instructor and with each other by posting messages and waiting for a reply. This makes it very easy to get a hold of other people, no matter the time of day. The downfall with this method is that sometimes it can take a while before you receive a reply. However, online courses require a certain amount of participation so the question will be addressed before too long. Many people question the amount of work that online students do. Some even say that online colleges should not be as credible as traditional universities. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Online education shares many of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Importance Of Distance Education Over Traditional... Approximately 7 billion people live in the world and the number is getting higher every day. How many people have internet access? Roughly 3 billion people have access to the internet. No wonder online education is on the rise. But why? What is so wrong with a traditional education. Why are more colleges offering online courses? Why are more kids being homeschooled? Even though you won't meet a lot of new people, experience a lot of different cultures, or even become that social butterfly, for people who do not function well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education over traditional education. For stay at home parents or even single parents, it might be hard to get an education on your schedule. For military families, you may move all over, going from school to school, never really continuing what your learning from school to school. Distance education can keep you connected to your school anywhere you are. First, for people who do not function very well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education over traditional education. Distance education, or homeschooling, allows for more individualized instruction, based on the students needs. It isn't as structured as a traditional education. According to Redford, Battle, and Bielick (20707), the most important reason parents are homeschooling was the environment of other schools. Other reasons include providing religious instruction, provide a nontraditional approach to the students education, and to provide moral instruction (p. 12). In public or private school, you have no control over what your child is learning and how they are learning it. With distance education, or homeschooling, you can. Are you afraid they will miss out on the opptunities that traditional schools provide. A friend of mine home schools her children after a few years of being in a public school system. They belong to a local co–op where all the other distance education students and families get together and play sports, interact, even have a prom for high school students. Your student can now participate in distance education and get the same opportunity as a traditional education. Additionally, for stay at home parents or single ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Homeschooling And A Traditional Public Education Parenting does not come with a guide, but the decisions made by parents are essential to shaping a child's future. One of the most significant decisions to be made is choosing the child's educational plans. The only options that are available are homeschooling or a traditional public education. While there are a few options, the choice has to be assessed properly. The dilemmas placed before parents are the lack of knowledge for an education taught within a home setting or the lack of a proper environment within a traditional school setting. There are many facets of homeschooling that people may not know. In order to understand the concept of homeschooling, it is important to define the term and point out its origin. Homeschooling is a nonpublic school directed mainly by the parent of guardian. Formal learning began at home with parents teaching their children domesticated skills and morals. The home–based education system changed in 1642 when the Massachusetts Bay Colony passed a law requiring children to be taught to read by parents. As time progressed, laws were made to change the teaching environment. Families were required to form grammar schools. Public school became mandatory in the 19th century when individual states started passing compulsory–schooling laws. These laws require parents to send their children to a public or state accredited private or parochial school. The majority of the states required children to begin school at ages five to seven years old and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Courseing : Challenging Traditional Education Between 2007 and 2011 the MOOC really took off in Canada, Stephen Downes, Alec Couros, Dave Cormier, and George Siemens were the major developments of the MOOC (Stacey, 2014). Originally, the MOOC was open for everyone, credit–seeking and non–credit seeking and offered different courses that ranged from true content lessons with interpretive lessons (Stacey, 2014). In 2011, Stanford Engineering professors were able to offer the school's three most popular computer science course online to more than 160,000 students in over 190 countries (Stacey, 214). This was the first large–scale MOOC in the United States of America. Although the size of the course was large the courses were deemed a failure due to the lack of interactivity and use of ... Some low–quality indicators they found included: monitoring post–course, allows discussion forums and student support, allows the use of different presentation formats, and individual feedback is provided (Baldomero and Lopez, 2015). These are the qualities that can be looked at when discussing MOOCs versus traditional classes and how to affect the class will be for the majority of students. The closer a class is to meet all the good qualities while limiting or addressing the low qualities the more likely students will be to succeed in that course. Provisional analysis of online education and face–to–face traditional education has become a long history. From early 1990, it becomes very consistent and seems to have limited significant differences in education system outcomes achieved by students who are engaged in the traditional education system and online education system (last name, year). Online courses offer flexibility and compatibility. It is a great alternative for the student who is busy with daily tasks and wants to pursue their education for future use. • 19. Traditional Education Ask Not How You Can Educate the System; Ask How the System Can Educate You The military is for a warrior and college is for the worker! For many generations that ethos has been the traditional mindset marketed to the youth of the United States. But today's up and comers are unsure of whether they should go into the armed forces or join what Paulo Freire describes as a "misguided system" of education (Freire 1). Some students have been citing the need for educational reform in response to the age old question "should I go to college?" Too distracted by the weight of the reform problems, many haven't realized that there's a reasonable solution. While 1960's Paulo Freire and 1990's Mark Edmundson both agree that they wanted students to revolt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Evidence collected in the "The Cost of Access: Racial Disparities in Student Loan Burdens of Young Adults" tells us that "In 2012, 71% of graduates from all four–year institutions in the United States had federal loans, and the average loan amount was $25,500" (Kim et al. 99). That journal, written by students of the university of Maryland and the university of Georgia, also recommends that "In order to create greater access to college for young adults from Black and other racial/ethnic minority families there appears to be a greater necessity for some form of financial counseling that explains the true cost of attending college, the availability of various sources of financial aid, and the importance of planning ahead to start saving for college early" (Kim et al. 112). The upside of government assisted tuition is that it is free and blind to the color of a student's skin. As long as they can handle the Air Force culture, their education is on the Government. Now that the student has the means to get a proper education, they must identify the method of attaining it. The great thing about an enlisted military education is its employment of both traditional and nontraditional methods. One new method the USAF is implementing is the credentialing of their Airman's On–the–Job–Training (OJT) experience. This is the skill that a member will gain from doing ... • 21. Online Education Vs Traditional Education Online education provides an individual with much more flexibility than the traditional education. Students that take online courses are provided with the facility to work along with carrying on their studies. Many students with great potential are not able to continue their studies just because they are not able to afford the fee and other expenses associated with education. Online education brings students back to the world of academia by providing them with flexible schedules. The students can adjust their studies according to their work schedule rather than having to adjust their work schedule according to their studies. Thus, an individual having online education is more empowered as compared to the students of traditional education. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Online dictionary makes it convenient for the second language learners to find the meaning of any word they don't know along the way. Instructors provide students with lessons online. Every student is provided with the password to the portal where lectures are uploaded. Students can rewind the lessons as they want until they understand the lecture completely, which is something not achievable in the traditional lectures. Traditional classroom lectures are more demanding both for the instructor and the students. Instructors have to attend all questions of the students and yet make sure that the lecture is delivered within the time allotted for it. Students also cannot afford to be inattentive for a moment or they will miss the information. However, the facility to communicate with the peers is obviously one of the pros of the traditional education. Students can discuss the concepts they didn't understand with other students after the class. In addition to that, traditional education is more effective in terms of development of students' skills as it provides them with an opportunity to perform all the tests and experiments in the labs that they read in the theory. • 23. Difference Between Online Education And Traditional Education In this modern society, education is an essential part of human life, and thanks to technology, we are now able to receive a proper education through the internet. For centuries the only way of receiving a formal education was attending physically to the school, but nowadays due to technology students are able to receive a college degree without the necessity of being physically in the school. Online education is becoming more common, and as a result, the student population is dividing in two different opinions on education. Some think the traditional method is better, while others start to believe that the modern method is the best. Although both of these are similar in numerous ways, there are advantages and disadvantages to each one. The differences and similarities between traditional college education and online college education are pronounced and they merit further scrutiny. In my opinion, what distinguishes traditional education from online education is the environment in which the student is surrounded. In traditional education every individual has the ability to interact and socialize with his classmates, professors, and other members of the college. The facilities provide the mindset for the student to learn, and the easily approachable teachers which can clear any question or doubt at the instant. While in online education the student has class discussions and chats with his classmates, all of it is through the internet, the same applies with the professor, if ... Educationally wise our community, life experiences and past professor's we have come in contact with have played a significant role in our development as doctoral students we are becoming today. As we being to reflect on what we read we will begin the process of higher level thinking. The sole purpose of this paper is to examine, compare, and synthesize themes of three empirical articles. Here will be there a lot of the questions beginning revolve in his head. How does his neighbor graduate and not go to school? The answer is an easy. His neighbor benefited from technology in education. This is technology that called online education or sometimes called E–learning where technology is no longer confined to certain areas. Traditional education and online education are two ways to receive an education. Traditional education is the oldest means of learning but online education has evolved and spread among the general public. It becomes an easy way to receive education and breaks the routine of traditional education. Although some people prefer study of the traditional way of education, online education has important advantages that these people have probably not considered. Until now, many people believe that when their children attend a class in school, they will learn punctuality. From this viewpoint, the conclusion that any human being throughout history has acquired at least one mis–educative experience can be made. From the classroom perspective, any student that learns in only a singular manner may be classified as having a mis–educative experience because a teacher typically only shows a singular way to solve a problem such as in mathematics, view a poem in literature, or interpret data in science. The reason for this being a negative process is students may not have the ability to adapt to the lessons that they are learning in a style that is more suited to their needs. According to Fox (1998), what is in dispute is not whether distance education is ideal, but whether it is good enough to merit a university degree, and whether it is better than receiving no education at all. He alludes to an argument that states students learn far too little when the teacher's personal presence is not available because the student has more to learn from the teacher than the texts. Thus, in order for the student to be taught well, does the teacher have to be personally present? Many advocates of distance education are ardent about their venue and very critical of traditional education. These online education devotees view traditional classes as being unchangeable, inflexible, teacher–centered, and static (Fitzpatrick 2001). However, proponents argue that many simply would not be able to get a degree without distance education—the full–time police officer, the mother of four, or the individual living in a rural area approximately 100–200 miles away from any educational institution. Many individuals desperately need distance education courses because they "have jobs, families, civic responsibilities. They are thirsting. Is it the lectures, worksheets, and tests, or the group projects, in–class discussions and high–tech games? When thinking over the answers to these questions, many people unknowingly state a preference for a more progressive teaching style. A progressive teaching style includes student participation and a large variety of modern inventions which allow more students to enjoy learning. Students receive a more complete education through enjoyment in the learning when they have the ability to set a custom pace and are able to learn according to their preferred learning style. It has become increasingly apparent to many educators how disconnected students have become from the learning environment when lectures are the sole teaching method. This discovery has led several instructors to develop new methods to educate the next generation of students for their benefit, not just for the ease and convenience of the teacher. To figure out the best balance for the future of education, like anything else, one must first understand the history of education and where schooling originated. Schooling began with a traditional style of lectures and progressed to more modern teaching methods, which have proven to be more beneficial to a learner's future, than the traditional practices in a teacher–centered classroom. A student had been just following the rules and orders that are given to him by his teacher and there had never been any question or argument from any student in this regard. A student is supposed to follow even without knowing the purpose why he is following and what would be possible outcome. Many teachers think that students are not capable of understanding the real concept or actual purpose of learning any specific lesson so they must pass through the process and once they memorize or learn the thing they will soon be able to implement that. Our traditional system supporters say that learning needs regular routine and tough study is also a part of learning. Even if you do not the final output of any work or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dewey create a rift in two extremes in education i.e. traditional and reformist education. One is traditional while other is free we can say that it is the difference between relatively organized, controlled, well–ordered, instructive traditional way education vs. relatively free, at liberty, student– directed advanced education. Dewey also analyzes old–style schooling for missing in complete understanding of students and planning set of courses overly focused on content instead of making efforts in teaching content and making process which is judged by its involvement to the well–being of personalities and the general public. While on the other hand, advanced education is too much conservative and takes a free methodology without actually knowing how or why lack of restrictions can be best useful in schooling. Independence for the sake of freedom is a weak way of life as well as education there must be some proper reason for this demand. Dewey also says that we need to move beyond this model war and in order to do that we need a model of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Essay about Online Education Versus Traditional Education With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one another instead of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be far more successful. Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take classes online. Bill Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Barbara Means, the study's lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more "learning by doing," which many students find more engaging and useful. However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates. Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions, and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Face–to–face advocates firmly believe that this kind of interaction is not possible over the Internet; and for many types of education, e–learning will never meet the potential of live human interaction in the classroom. An article in the New York Times titled, "Second Thoughts on Online Education," backs up the points made above. A recent research published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, comes to the conclusion; "A rush to online education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Should Traditional Education Be At Fault Politically? We have met the enemy and he is us (Kelly, 1953)! That famous line uttered by Pogo sums up my feeling about public/ private universities, and the relationship that we have had with for–profit schools. It has been very easy for us to place the blame on the for–profit sector as causing the student debt crisis, but in this concept paper I wanted to discuss where traditional education might be at fault politically. In other words, how were we responsible for helping to create the debt monster through behavior and policy? Students enroll in college to learn. This acquiring of knowledge is so important that most schools like Marshall University have instituted a required general education program to teach composition, communication, math, natural science, social science, humanities, fine arts, and critical thinking (GED, 2015). Yet the same universities that make the assumption that students are ignorant in general education, feel they are sophisticated enough to make major financial decisions that include assuming several thousand dollars in student debt. It is too easy for students to borrow money and colleges have embraced that fact. I used to blame the students for their financial misgivings, but higher education institutions are as much to blame as anyone. We must ask ourselves when the last time a university said, "we're making enough money so no tuition increase this year." Students are marketed to relentlessly by banks telling them borrowing is the way to get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. College Education Vs Non Traditional Education Today there is a growing gap between educated and uneducated Americans. The upper–middle class seem to expect nothing less than a college degree, while lower–income families risk missing a college education, so they can go straight into the workforce. To get "nontraditional" students on the path of a college education, it would greatly benefit them and society. To get these students to apply for college would help to break the cycle of upper–middle class "diversity," allow lower–income students to start thinking about college, and help to boost the economy. As pointed out by David Leonhardt, diversity in elite colleges is considered an upper–middle class student from California and an upper–middle class student from New York sitting in the ... • 75. Problems Of Traditional American Education Antonia Darder sets a language in Culture and Power in the Classroom that critiques the traditional American educational system while challenging teachers to a new thinking of culture and diversity in the classroom. Using the groundings from several theories, theory and resistance, regimes of truth, and theory of hegemony, she set the platform of the hidden curriculum that is valued in traditional public education. She seeks to use several theoretical frameworks to create a bicultural critical pedagogical approach, which links education to impactful politics. In Culture and Power in the Classroom, Antonia Darder makes is clear that education matters, but yet more importantly that all students matter in their educational experience. As educators there needs to be awareness and consciousness of the hegemonic forces of race, class, culture, ethnicity, gender, and/or ability shape that inferiority within students. Cultural hegemony is so natural, that even in the classroom students are immune to the shoddiness of living within the realms of the dominant culture. Darder exposes the problems of traditional American pedagogy. The conventional liberal and conservative discourse of nature versus nature do not challenge the structural underachievement of bicultural students. The use of meritocracy, intelligence testing, track and ability grouping, curriculum, and expectations of teachers perpetuate the blame of students rather than the structure of traditional American educational ... • 77. Traditional Vs. Distance Education : Traditional Education... Traditional and distance learning are two options to obtaining a higher education. Although both have great options in providing quality education to prospective students, there are noticeable dissimilarities in how the education is presented in the classroom environment. Most students find it difficult to choose which educational option to opt for. Over the years, technology has made it easier for students to obtain a higher education. Before, busy students often struggle with balancing school and their personal life. Students can now choose between attending a distance learning school or to attend a traditional college. Distance learning schools and traditional college are both effective methods of obtaining a higher education depending on convenience, quality, and learning style. While both options have similar methods of educating students, they also differ in important features such as flexibility, communication, and learning process style. The most important feature of distance learning is that online schools offer flexibility for prospective students. This allows students the ease of attending class in their own time and the place of their choosing. Flexibility is very important for students with hectic schedules such as balancing school, work, and personal life. In fact, studies have shown that online colleges are specifically designed to cater to busy students. Studies have shown that about 1,000 schools offer online curriculum using distance learning ...
